~~ F2P P-Mods ~~
yes there are f2p only mods. im one of them. now to clear up a few of these mistruths. we can make as many mistakes as the p2p mods. there is no more or less pressure upon us. i really dont see your reasoning behind this. it is not harder or easier to become a player mod depending on your membership (or lack thereof). jagex picks you as a player mod because of your actions and in-game experience. it is not dependent on your p2p/f2p status. and dilts36, the level 3 mods with the shiny gold crowns are jagex mods, not player mods. and other questions feel free to pm me here or in game at the same name.

Beter bow for f2pers
runenerd2, so far 2 of your topics have been asking for more stuff for f2p. now, i am a fellow f2per, so i know what you are going through. there are points in your f2p life where you think "wouldnt it be cool if..." so you decide to post it on the forums. ill let you in on a little secret: some of the members dont like it when free players start asking for... free stuff. it usually encourages flaming and unneccesary abuse directed at the creator of the thread (in this case, you). so, a suggestion: unless your ideas are really reeeaaalllyyy good that the members say yes, dont post a suggestion that will incite flaming. and, for the record, we just got a range update with maple bows and addy arrows. so no need for a range update (for the time being). edit: and we nonmembers dont have rights. says something along those lines when you sign up for a free account.

New fishing spot for f2pers ....maybe?
Runescape Discussions & Suggestions, not Runescape Flaming & Insults. Add something to the convsersation other than a smarta** remark. For training purposes, the Karamja fishing spots are well located. They are on the same island as the lessers, and just q quick boat trip to the ice warriors and ice giants. However, they do pose a problem when trying to fish large amounts of any tuna/lobster/swordfish. But I guess that is the disadvantage of being f2p. Have you tried getting the boat back and walking to Draynor? That is probably a short route to the bank than trekking up to Falador. Or, if you wanna sacrifice some inventory space, take some tele runes and tele back up to Falador then walk back. Or you could fish in the wildy, but the walk is a bit... dangerous...

Tip.It Times Presents: Summer 2006
Although my opinion was not asked here, I'll take the liberty to say I'm ok with it, though I think the part that says "Once famed, now Shamed" is trying to put words and thoughts into people minds that do not necessarily exist and thus shouldn't have been said. Furthermore, since the story doesn't seem to have ended yet, Jagex broke my privacy rights and apparently break their own confidentiality rules by leaking out what I said to them in the appeals I sent to them to other "normal" player(s?) who are even in the position of being a forum mod for Jagex. The irony in this is even worse, considering Jagex 'accused' me of "possibly abusing my player moderator position" in their reply on the appeal, for which they have absolutely no evidence and won't ever find any evidence. Therefore I think this article is far too positive about Jagex actions - apparently Jagex themself don't mind breaking rules either? i have to agree with duke_freedom. there are way too many rules being blurred by all parties involved. perhaps some editing of the tip.it times is neccesary to ensure no harm happens to anyone?

Ipbanning the auto'ers
well i use an adsl connection with a dynamic ip address, which means that my ip address changes every so often. can anyone see a problem if they tried to ban someone with a dynamic ip?

Would you be a mod?
yes, f2p mods exist. full rune ftw! um... what is that meant to mean? as far as i can read, you arent actually a mod, but i cant see the other side of the statement. wannabe mod? as stupid as this sounds, coming up with phrases to make them log out is actually quite fun. its more rewarding if there are other non-autoing wcers around to read them.

Tip.It Times Presents: Summer 2006
i believe that tip.it should uphold the no naming names rule it sets down, and the editor should remove duke_freedom's name from the article as soon as possible. its a well written article, i just dont see the relevance of the summer holidays bit. maybe it means all you american kids need to get off runescape and get out irl. other than that, im looking forward to the changing of the runescape engine. should make the game a whole lot better.

Would you be a mod?
i went into runescape with my actions based on an intention to become a player mod. i never really wanted to be one. given that, most people that want to be a player mod are generally those that are unsuitable to be one. now that i am a player mod, i wouldnt imagine playing runescape without being one. it really is satisfying to go to the north varrock yews, talk, and have a macro-free area, or to walk through one of the major banks and be able to mute all password and item scammers and make rs a better place. after a while you get used to the lower leveled players asking questions. if it is a genuine question, i will try and answer it. but if its something like "zomg kan j00 giv my fr33 st00f?" you either pretend it never happened, or put them on your ignore list. the only truly annoying ones are those that try and bait you into breaking a rule so they can have fun reporting a mod, or those that feel they can abuse and swear at pmods "because its fun." again, the ignore list comes in handy. for all those that believe that player mods will abuse their power: the only power it that perceived by the rest of runescape. what can we do that the rest of rs cant? mute people. however, our mutes get looked at by jagex. if they find that we are incorrectly muting, action is taken against us. there is no absolutely motivation to abuse our power and incorrectly mute. we arent there to rule rs, we are there to make it a better place.

All Updates Stop!!- what would you do next?
actually f2p are getting quite a few updates lately. i think he is referring to actual gameplay updates, rather than graphical updates. graphical updates do not really change the way that people play the game, it just gives us something nice to look at. so, +1 for not affecting me.

Problem
the sound does not currently work on firefox. in the may behind the scenes, they stated that they are working on fixing the sound for firefox. the firefox updates have nothing to do with rs sound not working. so, in a few weeks, all firefox users will be able to play runescape with sound.

=== VARROK TRAP ===
its not like the web is different for each individual player, and that you have to slash the web for yourself to pass. if another player slashes the web, you can pass as well, so its not like you are trapped for long.

rs3?
lol. i remember that post. and i also remember that it was a sarcastic post. there was absolutely no substance behind what he was saying, at im sure it was intentionally sarcastic. so, rs3 rumours are just that: rumours.

20 updates for runescape
see, this guy has been around the same time as Imperial_120, may have a lower combat than him, yet said something that is about a million times smarter than his thread. i am a highish lvl f2per, and have come to the same realisation as fede777. f2pers aint gonna get any large (or good) updates for a little while (little while meaning ages), or until such a time that 1) rs3 is created or 2) p2p updates are so cool and so far ahead of f2p that jagex will give f2p something else, but this not be for a little while.

Compass
i wanna know: why arent the compass and minimap aligned? in jagex's map, north should be directly up the map, yet north is clear offset in comparison to what should be an apparent north. so, why is north not north?
-
Dancing with the Devil?
before we go throwing our arms in the air, can you tell us EXACTLY what was said to the pmod? there might be more to the story than we know. and i agree, there should be rules against morons in rs.

ring of fishing!!!!
perhaps if the ring allowed you to fish at the same rate as if you did not have the ring, but when you would normally fish a species you are not after, it automatically ignores the fish, instead of constantly fishing sharks/swordies/whatever.

P Mods: Get Exp While Getting Rid of Yew Bots!
yes i know, but its very fun. trust me. the satisfaction you get when you get to varrock castle, talk, and see half the world disappear at once is undescribable. another idea could be to have the king or queen back there, and they can talk every so often. when they do, they talk in the chat box, and they have a crown. either that, or the army of mods sounds nice. count me in. now someone give me something to high alc and some nats...

best place for a highish lvl to train low lvl range
well, im currently lvl 74 combat, with a huge lvl 41 range. but, id like to change that. i want to reach at least lvl 60 range. where is the best place to train? i tried the lessers at karamja, but i couldnt hit anything and my arrows got taken before i could get them.

Best f2p magic training spell/location?-for exp, not drops
there is one more option that nobody has touched on. crumble undead is still a pretty good option, despite the xp changes. get an air staff, a whole heap of earth and chaos runes, and go to the varrock sewer. go all the way to end of the tunnel to your left after going down the entrance ladder, and mage the skeletons across the little river.

Regarding the Essence Autoers/Yew Log Autoers.
very good article there. i know what you mean about how turning up to the macroers is both frustrating and rewarding. to see the crown pop up and many people all log out at once. every time i am in varrock i take a trip to the yews and rune essence. normally 20+ autoers at a time. its really sad how people feel the need to make money off a computer game (shame on you jagex ) but seriously, if your "sources" are correct (id also like to know who your sources are), its a very sad state of affairs to have what is essentially slave labour harvesting runescape gold. what is the world coming to?
-
bf/gf debate should it be allowed in the game?
in some ways, it can essentially be item scamming. i do not believe that any "relationships" over runescape are genuine, and i think jagex should do something to prevent people from being hurt by this.
-
I knew it was bad but......
that a player mod holiday. log in, talk, and watch them all log out at once. the fun i could have...
-
What does this mean?
jagex have clearly stated that they are going to give varrock a facelift and do a complete graphics overhaul like they have done with the other areas of the free world, so that conversation isnt an "easter egg" or trying to put us off. its actually true.

volcano use?
Oh yeah! The Draynor Mansion. Forgot about the chairs and all that sort. So I guess we can look forward to a brand new Varrock and revamped quests (Romeo and Juliet was updated and I'll bet that most of the F2P quests will get some sort of cutscene in the future to further bolster sales of P2P and more of it's graphical goodness). this is supposed to "gvie new players a better first look at the game" its for commercial reasons   but updating previous quests do nothing for higher levels that have already completed these easy quests. so i think they should save their time, quickly do varrock and move on to p2p which will actually count (btw im f2p, so i think its a valid comment to make).

Members and free users - a speech I wrote years ago
the analogy is good: everyone who is a part of the runescape community needs to respect each other, whether they are p2p or f2p. maybe some find that quoting MLK in relation to an online game is a bit drastic, but the message of respect and equality is still there.
