  1. Myself, I can only manage somewhat consistent kills before their shield comes down with 1 claw spec, turmoil all the time, and steel titan. Sometimes there is a bad kill where I don't hit much, or my claws spec hasn't come back yet, so the shield gets back up again, but sometimes I can manage without the claws spec. Try to use the exp counter to know when to switch, as when they take about 310 damage (0 counts as 20 damage for this invisible counter), which is around 165 exp I believe. That and use the F keys (F1 = inventory, F3 = prayers, F5 = weapon screen to use a special attack). These two tips have helped me most I think, as the rest is just changing weapons and attacking as soon as possible.
  2. Isn't there a 4 hour limit before you can sell an item? I'm not sure how it works really, but when I bought a BGS for mid I tried to sell for minimum because I wanted the cash for something else (I'm a compulsive buyer lol), it wouldn't sell. I hopped over to w2, advertised once selling BGS for mid and somebody bought it. So I'm guessing you had to wait a bit, although I'm not completely sure on this as I don't understand the limit with items (I thought it was you can buy or sell 10 armour items within 4 hours, so buying and selling would count as 2 I thought, but no idea now ).
  3. If you want to team as little as possible with random people, I'd suggest duoing 2:1 with a friend who you trust will not leave and will try their best/not slack off unless its necessary (RL situation). What I'm doing is duoing 2:1 with a friend as much as I could, and I'll probably start to do 5:5 larges for floors 30 to whatever I can with my current level when I'm at that oint.
  4. Just wondering, how did you guys manage over 200 crims per hour at rock lobsters? I've always been under there, even when paying full attention, using ice barrage. Are you talking about 200 crimsons worth of exp? And 300+? That just seems preposterous, nearly twice as much as what I've been told is the average. CT waterfiends are quicker with an iron titan, otherwise rock lobsters are best.
  5. Well if I had to choose between claws or fury, I would go with claws simply because losing 12 points for defence is worth the good chance of getting an almost sure hit on Graar. The loss in strength and prayer will not be noticeable much, and the loss in defence will not be too great in exchange for a good hit.
  6. Without a steel titan, there should be no reason to use soul split over protection prayers, since it drains more prayer, and you'll be using a unicorn (I'm assuming that bit, since you're 96 summoning). A unicorn is enough healing unless you get hit hit a lot when they first switch styles, but that would just be a case of bad luck and what emergency brews would be used for. Zaaps1, what he means by soul splitting is that the TDs do not switch their attack style if you don't protect against it. Since their melee attack is so inaccurate, you can usually just use soul split to keep your hp high, which is really useful when not using a unicorn. You should just wear what you normally wear, and just replace the super sets with extreme sets. Bring more prayer potions if you're going to be using turmoil at all times, although it does get frustrating if you miss for 5+ hits and waste a lot of prayer. I only use turmoil at all times with a steel titan, with unicorn I'm a bit cheap regarding my prayer. Regarding the luring, you have to lure the north eastern demon by running a bit west into the safe spot up there, then back to the right behind that lamp thing. That will get it stuck at the rock instead of the pillar. And as for luring the north western demon, I just wait until it is closer and hit it with my bow to get its attention, and just go back to killing the northern demon, and the NW one should get trapped on the rock there. Kinda hard to explain luring in words, but there should be some guides on youtube or something which explain more clearly.
  7. I've been wondering for a bit, how hard is it to get an uncut onyx/onyx ring? I'm gonna have 300 rank soon in MA, so I'd like to get the ring. Only good thing I have is 4 sets of battle robes, but no cash (well like 10m). Would people take battle robe sets for an uncut onyx? And how many sets would I have to give up?
  8. The killing blows perk is really useful if you want to kill gargoyles just like any other monster, so it's up to you whether you are ok with using the hammer manually or would prefer a bit quicker and easier option at a cost of 400 points. You should start saving up for the runes after you get everything else you want. In this case, unlock the ice strykewyrms. One SOL drop would pay for the opportunity cost of the runes right away (assuming it's above 6m still when you get one). Never buy the exp, as it is extremely inefficient to buy exp that way. The runes are a much better option than the exp. From what you mentioned in your post, I would get 1. Unlock killing blows OR ice strykewyrms 2. The other option from 1 3. Runes This is assuming you have everything else unlocked (making slayer rings, full slay helm, block list, maybe broad bolts/arrows if you wish, unless you don't want some of these). And for the killing blows, you still need the hammer, but it will use it automatically when it reaches 0 LP left, so it would die like every other monster right away (well after the animation).
  9. The soul splitting is more useful if you're using a steel titan in my opinion, since you need a form of healing in that case other than a few emergency brews. With 2 overloads, 4-6 brews are able to last me, so it's nearly enough healing by itself. With a unicorn, there is should be no need to use soul split, as it uses more prayer than a protection prayer, and if you do get hit occasionally when they switch styles, the unicorn should manage that. For smithing, you could try smelting and superheating gold at the same time, with the gold smelting gloves. You can get around 120k exp per hour I believe, along with some magic exp. I use around 15 natures per 27 gold ores, along with using a varrock armour 3. You could calculate the cost if interested. Only downside is that you have to pay more attention than just smelting.
  10. Only 35-40 per 3 unis? Before I switched to steel titan/2 spawn killing/using turmoil all the time, I got around 40 kills per 2 unis with just the northeast spawn, using a whip and a crystal bow or rune crossbow and broad bolts (depended on my mood if I wanted to pick up bolts). Are you just inexperienced with switching, or lagging perhaps? Maybe your lowish range level and lack of extreme ranging potions may make a difference. I find no difference between whip and a bandos godsword really, other than the speed. The godsword is preferable if you're not too quick at switching from what I've heard, and the potentially higher hits are preferable since it switches every 310+ damage dealt. Also, if using crystal bow I'd say use godsword, simply because then you don't have to keep on equipping two items (whip + defender) each switch. Anyways, just keep practicing with TDs, eventually you'll be able to kill quicker, and money will come in pretty quickly in comparison with other bosses, over the long term anyways.
  11. So just take EE and prayer restores and range all the way? Take some brews still, in case you mess up, or get hit at Jad and are able to heal up. 3 range pots, 4-6 brews, EE, different bolts if you want, and rest super restores and prayer potions.
  12. As others have said, for solo bandos DFS is far superior to a rune defender. The extra range defence causes a lot more of his range attacks to splash, allowing you to eat less, attack more, and last longer, for a slight decrease in accuracy.
  13. Beasts of Burden do not help while smelting gold. I think he means to bring more ores so you can smelt more ores in one run..? is this correct? You'd have to put 15 in pack yak and take out 15 to be quick with it, in which time banking is better since it takes a bit more time but you get a full inventory right there. It's more work for a similar amount of ores smelted I believe.
  14. Even if it is a bug, it's not harmful to anybody else, just looks appealing to the user. I've kept my constitution cape untrimmed, even with summoning. I just died on a F2P world, hopped onto a P2P world, got 99 summoning, then hopped back to F2P and quickly telegrabbed my untrimmed capes. I had around 3 minutes remaining, with the 6 minute grave.
  15. I do believe snapdragon are still better profit than ranarr? Torstol also used to be good, but now seeds are too costly for it to be worth it. You make more off ranarrs than avantoes or toadflax per patch. another tip for less herbs to die, is higher farming level, but you all knew that :P I'm fairly certain that farming level has no effect on the rate of herbs and trees dieing. I haven't tested this myself, but it's what I have been told by others, and my rates have been constant really since below 50 farming, so I have no reason to believe that higher farming = less deaths, unless it's an minuscule increase.
  16. Ok, once again, thanks for all the help. Now I need to actually go and get the ranks =(. I'll probably just alternate with some arma and TDs.
  17. Ok, thanks guys, answered all my questions. Edit: Forgot to ask, if somebody tries to cannon me at 27 minutes, do I run away to another place and suicide or attack back?
  18. But which units and how many of them would I need? And how many cannons? Also, which world? Just any MA world and people will want to suicide? And which player would be allowed to win? The blue one?
  19. What is the method to gain quick mobilizing armies ranks? I haven't played this activity since it came out, so I have no idea on what to do. I'm going to go for 300 rank, and I heard that will take around 25 hours. But is there a clan chat to use? What units should I use? What world is it easiest to find other players who want to gain ranks quickly as well? Is there any special unit to buy? What scenario do I do? And lastly, what do I do once I'm in the game? My friend told me make 10 moves at least, would moving back and forth count as moves?
  20. If you're willing to spend more money, superheat as you smelt. This way it's possible to get around 120k smithing exp per hour, along with some magic exp if you want that. I think I use 14 or 15 nature runes on average per 27 gold ores, so you could calculate the cost if interested. It's quicker, but you'll have to pay attention more.
  21. How do people manage to stay so long though with only a few brews with a steel titan? Surely you must take damage occasionally, and that would add up. With one spawn killing I managed to kill at a rate of over 25ish per hour, but I have to leave too early which loses out on some time, and therefore some kills. Do people use soul split when they melee, or during the claw specs? Or do I need more practice with switching more efficiently?
  22. i just have to ask, why in under an hour? Making 1m an hour with your stats seems difficult for me. Perhaps in 2 hours you could do it, but I'm not sure doing what really. You could try blue dragons, or collecting blue dragon scales. Your herblore is low, but maybe there are some low level herbs which profit from cleaning? Or making unfinished potions may profit. Look at some herb prices, and compare grimy, clean, and unfinished potion prices, sometimes you could make over 1m per hour easily.
  23. Sorry for the old bump. Maybe sara's a bad example of this to melee. but overloads are well worth it for top boss hunting but not so for general training. For slayer etc I use pure sets maybe full extreme sets depending on what im killing. But for boss ncp's, gwd/dk's/corp esp overloads are well worth it. if you dont want to go with a team you have to hope you have some kind hearted friends that will go with you etc... Personally overloads get me double the kills on a solo bandos run for example for a similar cost to extremes. 125/99 maintained is worth it, oh and the 500 lp is nothing, esp if your soloing and can do the log out trick. oh and whip + claws >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> pretty much anything, only thing that rivals it is chaotic long + claws > whip + claws. I'm pretty sure he was saying overloads aren't worth it in teams. For soloing, definitely, it allows many more kills. But in teams, there is no point when just extremes are nearly just as good, for a much cheaper price than overloads. Also, the main thing about overloads is the ability to use brews almost like fish or something. In teams, a unicorn is often enough. Also, the constant 125/99 stats wouldn't make a huge difference, especially if you just pot when your stats drop to 115 or something, since you're in a team.
  24. I personally just stick with rune defender, since I can't be bothered switching my shield as well. If you want to use an alternate shield for ranging, I'd say a zammy book would be better, for the range bonus and prayer bonus. There is no point in having extra defense from a spirit shield, since you should be praying against their attacks, and taking damage only when they switch attacks.
