  1. I would say that the bandos chestplate and tassets are not worth it at all. I bought them for a while, and they hardly help. They have lower defence than the dharok's platebody/verac's skirt that I usually use (and less pray bonus), for only 1 higher max hit. You will hardly ever notice that, and it is one of the most overrated items ever in my opinion. It only has better range bonus than barrows, and a measly +1 pray bonus per item. I find barrow's much better, especially because of their cheap price and extremely high defence. I ended up selling the chestplate and tassets after only a day and buying a saradomin godsword instead, as the extra prayer from its special actually helps with slayer tasks or anywhere since I use the 10% strength pray to speed up my tasks (around 3 higher max hit, as opposed to just 1, at a much, much cheaper price).
  2. Maybe you don't need skills, but it's fun, is it not? I like killing bosses, and you need some knowledge about those, if no skill. You have to know what to do, and when. Of course, the entire game is all about clicking, but so what? Console games are just about pressing buttons, not much difference. You may need more reflexes for those type of games, but in the end, it's all about pressing stuff. That's just your opinion. Some people may like to collect resources, and sell them for money. Yes, it's just clicking. But people find it entertaining, so how is it a boring version of tiresome medieval chores? It's an RPG, where you can immerse yourself into a game and pretend to be something you're not. Just because you find it to be boring, or useless, doesn't mean its the same for everybody else.
  3. You'd have to keep on banking every time you fail to reach the required runecrafting level though, which could take many, many tries. When I was doing the falador diary, I just stood in the bank and waited until I got a +4 boost (67 runecrafting), so that I had enough time for sure to reach the altar. I'd say it's much easier to get a bit higher boost than to bank every half min almost. Unless you just need a small boost (+1 or +2) to reach 66, your method would depend a lot on getting lucky at the right time.
  4. What do you mean you can't buy them? They're not selling? When I was going for 88, I bought 3.5k of them for max nearly instantly I believe, waiting for maybe 10 minutes at most. If you mean that you don't want to pay so much for them, you'll have to hunt them in the Mort Myre Swamp hunting grounds, though I find that really boring personally.
  5. As long as they respawn from their bones, it should still work well  Well, they do still respawn from their bones, so I guess it works well :P
  6. Nope, it still works perfectly fine. I've chinned a bit over the last few days, and it's the same as before as far as I could tell. I'm getting around 180 exp per gray chin, I'm not sure if that's average or not, but if you had the averages, you could compare and see if it's nerfed or not I suppose.
  7. My house is complete garbage, and only three rooms are actually used and have some money spent on them, which are the portal, altar, and the room with the glory. I have bedrooms and a workshop for a servant and for one of those penguin quests.
  8. Depending on the situation, either sgs or zgs. At sara god wars, definitely zgs, as it helps the team out so much. Everywhere else, sgs. Ags only helps for higher hits, and it hits low alot too, so it's not too helpful. Bgs is really helpful when you hit 30+ on bosses or players, and it allows for an easy and quick kill usually. But personally, I'd say sgs, as the extra hp and prayer is really helpful and lasts longer than just one kill or one hit like the others.
  9. Gratz, I find that hilt to be rarest. Only have had one of those ever in like 300+ kills, though no bandos/armadyl hilts either (never ever do those :P).
  10. I was just wondering, why does everybody use the fire in rouge's den, and not the range in the cooking guild (you need varrock's armour 3 though). When I got my armour, nobody was there, which surprised me considering how much closer the bank and range are, and the bank never moves. Are ranges slower than fires, or is it just because most players can't bother to get the varrock armour 3?
  11. you took the words straight out of my mouth. 9/10, great combat 99 Slayer while training a tanker account helps A LOT believe me. When I went for 99 defence with 71 attack, 72 strength on my pure the +15% bonuses were crutial. Also slayer is a fun way of training and makes you lots of money, so why not like it? That would be like saying why are you obsessed with mining? Lately you have finally been posting real rates atleast without just saying "4/10, go train ur mining". Saying slayer is fun is just your own personal opinion (and many others I'm sure). If he didn't like slayer, what's it to you? It barely helps with anything other than killing like 20 extra monsters, whose drops aren't that great until lvl 83+ slayer, but then everybody discourages camping. What's the point of raising slayer if you're gonna get flamed anyways? I usually see on these forums either "raise your slayer" or "good job, now don't camp." So, should the person just say, "Ok, I got this level, so now I'm not gonna use anywhere except on tasks"? Maybe I find killing zombies endlessly fun, it's all based on our personal preferences. By the way, I know the slayer helm is helpful, but if you want exp, salve amulet (e) works better, so why didn't you get that instead on your pure? On topic, nice job, 8/10.
  12. i may try this but seeing as it will be solo i doubt it, sweets may be more efficient though. Nope, you still need some form of run restoration for soloing. When I duo a few kills at the end of a trip, I usually fall below 10 energy, and end up having to rest for around 5 seconds while my teammate runs around. I just tried soloing for the first time today, and I used around 70 terrorbird scrolls for 5 kills. I would say that purple sweets are not worth it, as they are so expensive for only 20 energy.
  13. Nice, unicorn's are amazing at bosses. Have fun with yours, it's great.
  14. Nice! I wish I could get some claws, currently 200 dry. Some people have all the luck though, like you :P
  15. Mine would probably be 88 summoning at level 124. It's not too impressive, but not many others have it till later, and it's my favourite level for sure. Though my other combat stats are lacking for my combat level :(
  16. Love this guide, certainly made it easier to find out what to make, and how many shards I needed. Bought 500k shards and had 50k left at the end, so that was good. Anyways, I'm finally 88 summoning, and unicorn is awesome. \
  17. Haven't chins gone up in price though? They used to be around 350ish I believe, and they're somewhere in the 460s or something. As for your question, I believe it would be enough even with an increase in price, because you're nearly halfway there already.
  18. Crashers anywhere, especially at lobsters when I'm bursting. High levels, or most people with barrage, almost always come take my spot. I find a world in less than 10 mins easily, yet these people are just like "lol noob" when I tell them to go spend 10 mins. They're so inpatient, and they infuriate me so much. Luckily I'm nearly done there, only a couple more hours until I have the charms for 88 summoning :D.
  19. Does batting in baseball count? I love the sport, but my timing is dreadful, though my form is good. And if I got good, imagine making millions of dollars per year in the majors \
  20. Why sell your items just because they might drop in price? I bought my first godsword this summer, but I plan to keep it unless I'm going to buy a different one, regardless of its price. I don't care if all my items dropped in price, I bought them to use them, not in the hope of them rising in price. Unless I was planning on buying another item soon, then I might wait until mid September or so, but even then, I'd most likely buy it at the higher price now. I buy items for their usefulness, not for their value, why worry so much about what's going to happen?
  21. I just went on my first trip, and I'd consider it successful. Used the same amount of runes as you, but tweaked the prayer pots a bit, and only ended up using 2-3 prayer points per lure, so I only used up a bit over half my prayer potions. An excellent guide, quite easy to learn, and it's short and to the point. Thanks for this guide, it's gonna really help with getting 88 summoning :) .
  22. Monks are approximately 30k fishing exp per hour. You're saying someone with lvl 5 attack and lvl 3 strength will get 15k defence exp per hour? In other defense pure guides I read that the average exp is like 5k. Where, and how, would you manage to get 3x that? You said that "13375p34k3r" is your account, and then you say that none of your accounts have numbers in them? Makes no sense. It's still in it's early stages, so I don't have anything else to say yet, though perhaps you could provide any reasons for why someone would want to make a defence pure? You just say it's slow, and will take alot of determination, and you define what it is, but you make no reference at all on why one would want to create one. Are they fun? A challenge? Or just something to do? You just say "your awesome new account."
  23. 59 hunter followed closely by 60 construction. God I hate those two skills, they'd prolly prevent me from getting all 70+ one day -.-
  24. This was an excellent guide to farming, and was extremely informative. Too bad I only farm herbs now, tree prices are too high for my liking. 50k for maple seeds is way too much for my liking, espeically since I used to do 3 runs a day, which would be 750k in maple seeds each day. Willow trees give too little exp for me to be motivated to do it. So, unfortunately, I've given up on farming. But nontheless, this was an excellently written guide, and is worthy of AoW.
