  1. This is the issues being discussed in this thread. Please use that one.
  2. Don't tempt fate. I think that we're going to get worse before we get better.

That was very very good. I could just be in a blues mood though. Edit - I'm hopefully gonna be able to see him when he comes round to Leeds in November.
  4. No need to double post, people will post eventually. I predict that the last season will be awful. I haven't enjoyed it since the second or third season. They over did the jokes.
  5. As Warrior said earlier, writing music you're really pleased with is one of the tops for me. Recently, I wrote a load of passable but boring music which left me a bit frustrated. It was good enough to keep the rest of the band pleased but I wasn't comfortable with it. Then a couple of days ago I just sat down and played a decending riff that pedalled off the low E, which sounded awesome. Then I got a flood of inspiration and wrote 2 and a half songs plus a solo for an earlier song. I went back and changed the ones I wasn't happy with and everything fitted perfectly. Took me about five hours overall but in the end I had a huge smile on my face. Another thing is buying something you've worked hard to save for. The whole un-wrapping and using for the first time ceremony is such a high.
  6. Another doom metal fan? Amorphis - Sign Yup. I've only found two doom metal bands I like so far: Candlemass and Moonsorrow. I'm always looking for more though. Also, I would consider Moonsorrow more folk metal. Sorry for the long delay in responding to this, I just got back from holiday. I ment Moonspell, twas a Typo :D .
  7. Machine Head - Live at Download They put on a brilliant show, my favourite of the weekend.
  8. Um Iron Maiden? Their music is mainly sung with occasional shouting/ harshness. The guitars are distorted but not alot and they use a single bass drum. They also pretty much define what heavy metal is.
  9. < I'm this green with envy but not smiling. I frickin love Behemoth.
  10. The Simpsons Movie - It was pretty good fun. I laughed a few times. Really wish I hadn't seen the trailers before hand. I was also sat next to a smart alec little kid who wouldn't shut up and my sister who was humming the spider pig theme. Another 48 hours - I've been staying at a friends house and I had to share a room with his little brother. Who had no concept of making a guest welcome. He stayed up to 2 in the morning playing WOW and watching movies while I tried to get to sleep. I decided I might as well watch the movies. This one was pretty bad. Some movie about a guy who gets beaten up in a parking lot and then trains to fight the guy back, gets popular because of it and falls in love - Dunno what this one was called but I enjoyed it. I didn't enjoy watching the ring in quiz show afterwards.
  11. Another doom metal fan? Amorphis - Sign Yup. I've only found two doom metal bands I like so far: Candlemass and Moonsorrow. I'm always looking for more though. Plain White T's - Hey there Delilah. I listened to this a couple of days ago and thought "meh". Since then it's been playing almost nonstop. The lyrics are totally brilliant and the guitar compliments it perfectly.
  12. Truth. Start the scream with your diaphragm and abdominal muscles. You'll want a lot of air in your lungs and use your throat a tiny bit to get the finer details of pitch and grating sorted out. The majority of the work should come straight from your belly though.
  13. I think a game like this belongs in forum games. But you're really going to have to explain it better. It's way too confusing at the moment.
  14. Yeah, all WOW discussion is held in the server thread. Should probally change the name... Edit - Thread name was official WOW thread already. I must have missed something.
  15. Candlemass - A Cry from the Crypt Pretty good doom metal song into Carcass - Polarized  Opening riff = win

I like them both for different reasons. I have no problem defining metal - something that is aggresive and distorted. Sometimes I stick bands like Iron Maiden in rock and sometimes I stick stuff like Foo Fighters in metal. It's jsut my definistion of metal and I don't really care for what the official one is. Pop in my playlist contains everything from Acoustic Ballads to soft soft rock, ie. chill out music. That's my definition of pop and likewise, I don't care what pop really is. Anyway, I like both equally depending on what mood I'm in/ what I'm doing. I prefere metal for working out and pop for chilling out. It's that simple.
  17. Machine Head - None but my Own
  18. Distorted classic rock guitar tones really annoy me. IMO, they are too thin and yucky. I can listen to things where they are playing on acoustics but stuff like Smoke on the Water really hurts my ears. Could just be my speakers though, they do something horrible to mids.
  19. That really depends on the song. I like my heavy metal (most of it anyway) played through my cheapy PC speakers or my big 2x12 guitar amp. They give a simular kind of sound but the bass is much louder and clearer through the amp. I like my rock, pop, ska and any bass driven music through my head phones though. They have a really thick bass sound thats awesome.
  20. Plain Whites T's - Hey there Delilah It's nice but nothing special. I think my bands going to do a cover of it.
  21. They are probally the really tiny money spiders. I wouldn't mind eating them, i wouldn't even feel them go down. A big nasty thing would have to be chewed to get down.
  22. Are the Bloodhound Gang Hip hop? I think they are, check em out.
  23. Thats the parents job not the Governments. If they wanted to improve quality of life for kids, parenting courses should be given in school time and better courses ran for new parents on how to raise their kids.
  24. Damn, you've got a point there. I think in Norwegian it means Ice Fortress or something, which in a local ledgend is a gateway to hell through the ice. I've had a listen to their more of their stuff and it's pretty heavy. Nothing on death metal though.
  25. Two Weeks Notice I watched it last night and they made it as boring as watching paint dry. In slow motion.
