  1. Emperor - Into the Infinity of Thought :uhh: Listening through Headphones
  2. Metallica - The Thing that should not be.
  3. Moved to Music and Movies. Congratulations on the gig :D I've only played a couple of small venues, the biggest being 200 people as a support act.
  4. I was going to suggest something simular to that, being a mercenary.
  5. Emperor - Wrath of the Tyrant
  6. Heh, exactly! Yeah, so has langzor already knows, I hate Naruto with a burning passion. It's simply not good. It's boring. It's annoying. It's not funny when it tries to be. The fight scenes are dull. It's boring and just plain bad anime. One scene (and note only one scene) had me in hysterics for a five minutes after the closing credits. Gaara vs the Bone dude in the retrieve Sasuke mission, when he is drunk and uses the drunken monkey style. :D
  7. That's my problem with religious debates :D There is barely ever an exchange of facts and opinions can be incredibally silly at times. For what it's worth, I do believe in a God, as my own existance is far to mindboggling to contemplate without one. Edit - I still enjoy thinking about the bigger questions though, where did we come from etc. A God just seems like the best explanation at the moment. Everything and nothing (life and death/ creation of the Universe) is a really hard concept and God makes it slightly easier, as there is still something when nothing is there.
  8. Sorry but I'm going to lock this for that reason. If you really want to speed up music, there is a tool in Windows Media Player which does the job brilliantly, ie. no altering of pitch.
  9. Dream Theater - Prophets of War This used to be my favourite song off the new album but now it feels a bit old. :(
  10. Star Wars - Episode I Resparked my Star Wars passion. Despite the hate it got from a lot of Star Wars fans, it was still my favourite of the new trilogy. I've got a Darth Maul pen holder on my desk :XD: Probally going to have to do a Star Wars Marathon one of these days. It's exam time though so the earliest I'll have a free weekend is Christmas.
  11. I watched Naruto right up to the fillers. I realised that I'd wasted about 70 hours of my life doing it. I swear that some episodes actually took the storyline backwards. I guess it's just there to watch if you have no other hobbies at all. Some characters were cool, ie. Kakashi and Jiraiya but most seriously irritated me. The fight scenes also got boring for me, pretty much straight away. The characters didn't really improve fighting wise in a way that I thought was interesting either. Learn a new move then use it until it becomes boring. Learn slight alteration of that move. Repeat.
  12. Metallica - Hit the Lights I was given Kill 'em All by a friend today after I told him I don't like Metallica. So far (into the Four Horsemen) it seems like a really happy album  Wouldn't call it thrash metal at all. Sounds like Crazy Train. Edit - Second listen, much better second time round. Some really rocking tunes.
  13. I have two scythes in my cupboard :-w They were a gift from my sensei after finally learning Chinto, a kata that was traditionally performed with the weapons. They are blunt down the edges but still weight about 2kg each and have a point which would break bones/ impale with a good thrust. Not much good against a zombie though. I'd prefere to stay at distance and living in the UK, there aren't any guns in my neighbourhood. I live a couple hundred yards away from sainsburies, so I'd stock up on supplies there and barricade myself in my home.
  14. Between the Buried and Me - Ants of the Sky A friend of mine has been telling me to get this album (Colors) for a few weeks now and I'm really impressed. The ultra heavy sections are a tiny bit samey but everything else is absolute gold. The melodic and rocky stuff creates a brilliant soundscape.
  15. You aren't allowed to discuss pirating music here. If you are wanting to put music files you legally own onto your MP3, connect it to the PC open it via My Computer and copy and paste then. This works for most other MP3 players but not Ipods and Creatives Zens (as far as I am aware). Locked to stop the discussion of piracy, which is what I think you are asking about.
  16. Probally some of the stuff by GWAR. I know its a joke band but its still a bit uncomfortable to listen to.
  17.   Thank you \ I wouldn't want to miss that one, I love Opeth as well :o And Devildriver are just crazy.
  18. I wrote a full review of the Black Crusade for my blog: [hide]Black Crusade. Mother of all concerts. The thing I've been counting down to for months. Literally. I had it written in my planner the moment I got it, I've had it in my diary since July. Machine Head, Trivium, Dragonforce, Arch Enemy, Shadows Fall at the MEN Arena. The venue was awesome, absolutally massive yet we were able to get to within 10m of the guys on stage without being crushed too badly. First up was Shadows Fall and they set the standard high. The Dudes hair was dreadlocked and down to his ankles. When he circular moshed it took up most of the stage. Now thats cool. The songs were heavy as hell and the pits looked very good. Two on each side with us in the Middle. Safe. Not. "I see two ****** pits out there! I want you to make it one pit, I want everyone moving if they aren't push them till they ****** move". "Awwww **** Here we go again". Shadows fall = 7/10 Next was the band which I have listened to the third most in my entire life, according to last FM. Arch Enemy, the Swedish Melodeath act with a woman singer. Me and Connor pushed right up to the front and left, up infront of Micheal Ammot - the Ginger Guitar God. Arch Enemy opened with Blood on Your Hands and oh my GOD they played it. Time to headband guys. They then played 'Dead Eyes See No Future', a favourite of mine, 'Ravenous' a favourite of Connors and another song off their new album. I knew what was coming then, so I went off to the pits. 'ALL FOR ONE, ONE FOR AAAAALLLLLLLLL'. Nemesis baby. Started off as a regular mosh, then after one of the slow bits it turned into a circle pit. My first one :D Then another acoustic bit and the pit was cleared. I knew what was coming and got in the front row. Wall of death and oh god it was better than I could have hoped. Think the nastiest rugby mall you've ever been in, times it by two then take away the pain and imagine having an eargasm at the same time. The wall collapsed unfortunately and that was a bit messy. I smacked my elbow on the floor and its still hurting now as i type this. Closing song was We Will Rise. 10/10 Then was Dragonforce. LOL. They played way better than I expected and didn't appear to be too drunk. They came on stage kicking each other and proceeded to do stupid things such as syncronised jumping and spinning. It was gimmicky but it made their songs (or one song as it was in my mind, all sounded exactly the same) listentoable. 6/10 Then Trivium. It was at this point that the crowd got pretty violent. I started off about 10 feet from the barrier and the way the crowd was surging, this varied from about 5 feet to 30 feet back. The pushing was pretty bad but I stayed on my feet and managed to get to a relatively safe place - just infront of the big and behind the little ones. Then they played 'A Gunshot to the Head of Trepedition' which got me jumping. I then bunny hopped into the circle pit and got freakin owned so badly. I was elbowed in the face and headbutted within the space of 20 seconds. I stood out the rest of the set except that last two songs - Rain and Pull Harder - when I got elbowed again and I think punched in the back of the head. Proof that Trivium fans are ****** I then set off to find Connor seeing as I had no idea where the hell he ended up in that mess. Drinks and back for the finale. Machine - ******* - Head. They opened with Clenching Fists of the Dissident. From that first grinding bass note, through the beatiful acoustic guitar and punishing riffs to the neo-classic shred and the heartbreaking drop out I was transfixed, almost crying and headbanging like a man possessed. Then imperian, aka my fighting song - the song I listen to before fencing and when working the punch bag. He told us to head bang - I headbanged. He told us to circle pit, I left connor and ****** ran. After that song, I was lucky enough to have been dumped by the Circle Pit about 10 feet from Rob Flynn (lead singer and guitarist - Machine Head) for Aesthetics of Hate. I ended up in the pit again and it was obvious to me that I wasn't going to be leaving it for a while. They then played Old, from Burn my Eyes. It isn't my favourite song of theirs to be fair but I sung along anyway. Then Halo, hoo boy. Guitar solo galore, this song is ace. Then Take my Scars, a song I'm not too familiar with but that was so heavy and evil, I felt as if I knew every note. Then Descend the Shades of Night - a tear jerking acoustic intro into a heart crushing piece of metal. I'd never heard this before but it left me reeling. Then it was time, time for one more. I feel the need to quote his words "Manchester, do you feel free? Then look in my eyes, and let freedom reign... WITH A SHOTGUN BLAAAAAAAAAAASSSST". Davidian. "CIRCLE PIT SHOW US WHAT YOU'RE MADE OF!!!"[/hide] The best gig I've been to by far and definately in the top 3 best nights of my life. The review had to be edited a bit before being posted here so some bits may not make sense.
  19. Gustav Holst - Uranus the Magician :-s Not one of the better planets IMO.
  20. Probally the chance to pimp up my old guitar. A nice HSS set of Seymour Duncans would be brilliant :D Maybe a new strap as well. I know for a fact that I'm getting socks though :(
  21. Please put this in the video sticky in Off Topic.
  22. All fun suggestions so far but quite impracticle except ember3579s. You should take the chance to rip the leaflet to shreds, point out all the opinions, how they misuse facts and then dig up a bit of background research into why PETA is a hypocritical bunch of morons. Then ask to read it aloud to the class. Beat her at her own game.
  23. Machine Head - Take my scars Thats one hell of an evil song.
