  1. Ranging jellies is very slow and I don't advise it. The safe spot can be tricky to use. Lastly, jellies seem to have a relatively high def and you will have great problems hitting them. I suggest low def monsters like giants or hellhounds.
  2. of course it is worth it. Monkey madness is not hard, just long. The weapon is good. No reason not to get it.
  3. I'm not impressed by the screenshots at all. If you want good graphics buy a PS3 or some top of the line $3000 PC and get corresponding games. I for one don't care much about graphics at all. I'm sure their are many like me. I actually think that the lower quality graphics are a very strong point of runescape. It allows for much better development of content and gameplay. Two aspects which I find that are far more important than the looks of the game in the long run. A game you are going to play for more than a year will need much more than just some fancy graphics to keep you excited. If you feel that graphics are important to you and you think that other games have better graphics than play those games. But apparently, something besides the graphics have grasped you to runescape. Why not accept that that other thing may be more important to you than the graphics?
  4. Unfortunately, the are horrible versus vampyres. Other silver weapons inflect much more damage.
  5. D2H prices are pretty stable. buy one and test it. If you don't like it, you can sell it back for the same price you bought it. It's much better to test yourself than just ask for opinions here. ;)
  6. I strongly disagree. graphics: I like the runescape graphics. I really do. They are not realistic, but have a very special feel. There is one very big problem with graphics: it's only ok when it is the best. I played oblivion on max graphics standings and it looked beautiful! After that I saw some WOW screenshots and those graphics looked very ugly. Runescape graphics are so different that I don't feel the need to compare it do different games. However, if you try to get really good graphics, you better be on top of your game all the time, or it will look like failed graphics. languages: I really don't know if this will be a very big advantage to the game. At 14 you should be able to understand some other languages and english is taught in many countries as one of the most important language. Of course, Jagex could release runescape in spanish, but how many people in spanish speaking countries really have access to a computer and long term internet connection? Also, another major language could split the game in 2, do you really want that?
  7. Right now there are 570 players with 99 slayer in the highscores. Who feels like checking out there stats? ;)
  8. The way I see it: Magic runes are like batteries. The runes store the magical energies erupting from the altars and can then be accessed by the wizard at the time he needs it. The spells are powered from these runes, not from some special power from the wizard. Of course, the wizard needs training to know how to use this stored power to cast a spell. So, yes the system is believable. Some things I would love to see changed and still be within RS feeling: - A separation between battle magic and "utility" magic. - Enchantment of more items than just jewelry. - Wizard staffs and wands that can actually store energy themselves.
  9. that is your problem right there. Karil is very vulnerable to magic attacks too. Nearly every dart will hit and you will kill him faster than with melee. You will use 0-1 sips of p pot for him, depending on how much Guthix hates you. ;) Another advantage is that by maging him, you save 2 invent spots you should use for food (you won't need the combat pot and dds). The extra food can save you another sip of p pot.
  10. 1. The bolts are very cheap (4 gp ea) and can be in a store, so no need to buy from other players. As you said the bone cbow is faster than normal cbows and still hits good damage. It's a very cash efficient way of training. 2. Combat bracelets give the same bonusses as addy gloves. SO interesting for the players who didn't do RFD. Also, more bracelets = mre teleports. 3. dunno 4. Crafting is generally done by making coifs or hard leather bodies untill lvl 59. After that it is green dragon bodies all the way. Mining should be trained by powermining either iron or granite.
  11. How about the lunar staff? Or any kind of staff, spear or halberd?
  12. I can post a number from 1 to 8 and you give me 9 choices? Anyway, I don't like any of the melee weapons. So let me add option number 10: 10. Rune crossbow thank you
  13. Interesting idea, but you know that Jagex will never make it a $0.08 an hour fee. More realistic would be: either pay $5 a month OR pay $1 an hour. And then the hourly fee just isn't that interesting anymore
  14. RuneScape membership costs less in a month than 1 Big Mac meal does in a fast food restaurant. It isn't exactly a great financial sacrifice for any age, given your family is already wealthy enough to provide you with internet access which costs $10-$50 a month. You'd pay $10 for a movie ticket worth 2 hours of fun, but not $0.16 a day for premium in a game you like to play daily or at least many times a week? If you really want to pay for premium, you can buy Visa gift cards legally at any age (I think at least in the US). Or if you have a cellphone, use the PayByPhone option and ask your parents for permission so they don't get a surprise when the bill arrives :) It's not about the money. It's about the huge amount of time some people play this game. And generally, members will spend more time playing this game than non members. If an adult chooses the spend a huge amount of time on it, then - either smart or not - I accept his decision. However, a kid could easily think much more about the fun than its responsibilities at school. And that could be a decision he will regret a lot some years later.
  15. You can't discuss this. The specials from both the godsword and veracs are what makes the weapons so good. Please, rewrite your topic.
  16. Kids have less rights than adults in the world for very good reasons. Lack of responsibility, knowledge and life experience makes kids much more vulnerable to making wrong decisions than adults. Get used to it. So, no. The system is fine as it is.
  17. You stereotyped him and that was a mistake on your part. I don't want to get into a discussion about your morals, but there is one thing that is wondering me. Suppose his stats were much worse, you would have refused to trade with him? If you first agree you want to trade and then alter the trade, wouldn't that make you an item scammer? Sure, you're not in it for the items, but you're still deceiving the seller. To me that is the definition. You both agree on a trade and then for some reason you alter the trade. By keeping your morals up, you have to break the runescape rules. How do you feel about that?
  18. I know nothing about rares, but don't santas usually drop during christmas because everything thinks they can sell them for more cash, thereby heavily increasing supply? Just something I think I remembered from past years. :)
  19. If you have the slayer lvl, both harpy bug swarms and cockatrices are good for lvl 2 clue scrolls.
  20. not an avinist, but he means an aviansie. ;) look them up in the bestiary.
  21. I tried some black dragons yesterday using a bone xbow and man it was very slow (at lvl 92 range). Keep in mind that they have very high def and HP lvls and killing them will take a lot of time. Therefore, I suggest you experiment with both bone bolts and also a rune xbow with mith bolts. Possibly that the rune xbow is so much faster that it is worth the extra cost of the bolts. Lastly, I can strongly recommend to use ranged pots. Good luck!
  22. don't exaggerate, i think less than 20% plays with music off http://tip.it/runescape/?poll_id=30 32% never use music, and 25% 'rarely' use music, which i would guess means they only use it at special points such as going to a new area etc. thats 57% that don't really use rs music, i doubt jagex would make a music based skill with this many people indifferent to Rs music atm. A Tip.it based poll isn't relevant in this situation. Not everyone who plays RuneScape uses Tip.it ... I disagree with that. The total number of votes is large enough to make this a relevant poll. Unless you can think of a reason why tip.it users would have other preferences to listening music than general runescape players. However, 32% states that they don't listen to runescape music or play on low detail. Some time ago, Jagex added music to the low detail mode. We don't know how many of these players do listen to the music, now that it is available on low detail.
  23. What quest is emerald lanterns? Sfter i did tears of guthix i tried making a diamond lantern but couldn't so i assumed sapphire was only one. BTW you can get you bullseye lantern back by usingthe lens on the gem lantern. emerald lantern is used in the first moonclan quest I believe.
  24. They are only assigned in small numbers. They are not a good assignment, but are faster to kill than to burthorpe them. So just kill them.
