  1. blue dragons have very disappointing drops besides hides and bones. So, fire giants definitely.
  2. 100 is a small number. you can't base conclusions on that. I could be much luck.
  3. why not? I always keep my combat lvl in mind. You should do with your character what you want to do.
  4. It's not comparable to a whip. A whip is a lvl 85 slayer drop, requiring at least 70 attack to wield and costs at the moment something like 1.5-1.6M. Bone xbow and bolts require only a few very easy quests and 51 ranged i believe. I love ranged, it's my favorite skill, but really those bone bolts have got to go. Reduce damage to less than bronze and it is ok. Make sure people can sell the bolts back for 4gp each. So, no big loss for people who spend millions on it. Equipment like this only destroys a skill, not improve it.
  5. You want them to atk u, so DONT use armadyl pendant, after 15 minutes theyll stop atking u and wear a holy symbol so saradomin monsters dont hit u and an unholy book for range atk bonus and protection against zammy minions. So, the outfit i would suggest (and the one i use) is: netizniot helm >proselyte helmet > initiate holy symbol acumulator bone bolts blk d hide top dorgenshun xbow blk d hide legs barrow gloves > [bleep]ed vambs > blk vambs snakeskin boots > boots of lightness row > ring of life nope, sorry but you really don't want to do it that way. There is not that much difference, but let me explain. It's a multi combat zone, you have to make the best of it. While attacking the first aviansie, line up another one (or two). Only pick the low lvl ones for best drops for easy killing. While under constant attack, you'll notice that from time to time you'll be wasting prayer just to pick up drops. That's quite some waste there. With the pendant you can kill off whatever aviansie is attacking you, switch off prayer and get your drops. Apart from this, you are sure that anything spiritual will never attack you and that monsters don't get aggressive again when you walk just 1 step outside of the non-aggression zone. As I said, since it's a multi combat zone and you will be down there alone, it is easy to get several aviansie attacking you. even better is that you can choose which ones attack you and you can therefore turn auto-retaliate on without risking that you fire your bolts to some lvl149 aviansie. The difference is not that much, but i certainly believe that wearing the pendant works better than without.
  6. I get them often. at least 1 every task, but while reading these responses, I think I'm very lucky...
  7. 47000 chins are worth 47000*750 ~ 35.2M You do the thinking about your magic lvl. It all boils down to your current lvl and method of training. Since you didn't specify anything, I can't give a better answer.
  8. I'm impressed. Really. I couldn't type or spell that good when I was 5... ;)
  9. guthan's helm for sure. As a tank ranger I don't care about the strength bonus and the helm gives great protection for only a single item.
  10. Not a good outfit at all. You really need the armadyl pendant. Sometimes you will want to pick up drops without prayer. Also, don't the spiritual mages attack you aswell? Meaning magic attacks. You also really need a zammy item! the armadyl area is full of zammy monsters, so you will need something for that. Then, you will need some kind of ranged attack bonus, substitute monk top for black hide and possibly hide legs for monk bottom. My suggestion for you: Head - guthix mitre Necklace - armadyl pendant body - black hide top legs - monk bottom cape - ava's accumulator boots - frog or snakeskin weapon - rune x bow shield - sara book gloves - barrows arrows - mith bolts ring - wealth now you will need a zammy item, either use the zammy cape from the magic arena and pick up your ammo or get the zammy book or get a tt god item, like zammy mitre or zammy hide top.
  11. When browsing all the different forums, you'll notice the huge amount of suggestions in each board. THere are so many suggestions, that it is impossible to be aware of them all. So even if Jagex implements player made suggestions, you as a player probably won't recognize it as such.
  12. 65+, mine mith??? gold ore is faster, more rocks and gives more profit. plz, this needs much more work.
  13. Abby spectres are great for herbs and seeds, by far the best of the list. They drop many seeds, but much more herbs. My advice: kill the spectres and trade or sell the herbs for seeds.
  14. Or better, sell them with profit ;) then buy new supplies
  15. I did some tests last couple of days and managed to get a net profit of 400k/h and 50k ranged exp! But that is at 91 ranged and 60 prayer. Yes, you have to use ranged prayer the whole time. So, with lesser stats you'll make less profit of course. Aviansie seem to have pretty low def, so I think that the profit will still be good. Use a rune x bow with mith bolts for the best effect. PS, you lost 6M? C'mon, 6M is nothing! Keep going. :)
  16. I'm safe spotting in the crypts. At worst I'll take 2 hits from the brother and one from a skeleton, they miss alot though, but I don't want then to get lucky. Safe spots ftw. don't forget the damage you'll receive from the tunnel monsters, those skellies hit often (with max 8)! Also, when looking for the tunnel barrows each round, you could receive damage from the brothers. I highly suggest you use a more standard approach to barrowing, since that it is best with your stats.
  17. Why would you use only one method? Use them all! ;) Some variation in training is very advisable. Do some alchs for pretty fast, cheap exp. When you get bored, do some fire bolts. Metal dragons are relaxed to kill since you only need to click once a minute or so. Also, risk of dying is greater at ankous than at metal dragons. Also, if you have the cash, try some ancients at cw or use some lunar for the easy string spell. lots of options, why choose one? ;)
  18. You like to use prayer while ranging? because no way you hit 25 with mith bolts at 84 range. At 91 ranged, without potting and prayer my max is 23 with mith. Or do you use full void knight?
  19. Ever thought about marketing? ;) Anyway, It's a nice idea. But you really have to give exp and profit rates for it to be useful. Without these numbers, we can't compare it to other methods. Keep working at it! :)
  20. First of, how do you know this? Perhaps Jagex are laying the final hand on a huge magic update right now and release it next month. You don't know. My biggest concern with magic by far is that it's way too expensive to train normally. Magic is a combat style, yet you have to train it mostly without combat. I don't want to alch or teleport without reason. I want to fight monsters with my spells. But I simply can't because it's much too expensive, apart from only a few situations. If Jagex can just alter the system is such a way that magic becomes as common to slay monsters as melee and ranged, I will be very happy. :)
  21. That is BS and you know it. Of course some skill capes are always harder than others. But each 99 still requires a lot of time, even fletching and cooking. Spending 2 full weeks for one cape is A LOT of time, that's not lazy. Those capes are not something to brag about (then again, nothing in this game is worth bragging about), but it's still a decent achievement, worthy of respect. ALmost every player in the game deserves respect, some more than others. If you can't even respect players with only the 99 in cooking or fletching, than how on earth do you think about players who don't have a 99 skill?
  22. THe d long is a good allround weapon. both stab and slash attack. and a nice special. It seems to be an ideal quest weapon. I like the speed of the scimitar. Nothing frustrates me more than hitting a 0 and with fast speed you can quickly hit again.
  23. Perhaps Runescape could use a monster with more than 255 HP to ensure a longer fight. But really, it becomes hard to provide players with huge challenges after they've player 100-1000's of hours. Multi player boss fights aren't the solution, tell me where is the challenge for YOU when other players makes the mistakes? Personally, i think that more and more monster have to use more than 1 or 2 combat styles and be much more random. Putting the combat triangle to the max.
  24. I like your thinking. I'm going to look into that!
  25. Sounds like a good idea. THis experiment has to be as easy as possible. Everyone should kill the same monster, either with or without a ROW. Never have I read something about other equipment making a difference in drops. Also, never have I heard about a difference when using another combat style. So, now to make this very easy. Pick a monster which many people love to kill (fire giants seem ideal) and just start killing and record the drops. Once the monster is picked, someone should make a spreadsheet for the drops so everyone can easily record their drops. Combine all the drop logs for the group with and for the group without ROW and compare the results. This way it doesn't matter how many you kill. If you only kill 1 giant, record the drop and post as results. What matters is that the total amount of kills is big, not the amount of kills per player. I think it's easier to find 100 players each killing 100 giants, then 10 players each killing 1000. my 2 cents.
