In early rs2? yes, super pots were exactly the same as they are now... there just wasn't as much melee damage being put out as there is now because the best melee weapon in the game was a d logn which could hit in the low 40s with its spec, with super pots, and with ultimate str on. But as we all know, not too long after they nerfed the msb out came the whip and melee once again became the most powerful combat type.

and back to being on topic, i've found on my ranged tank (combat 95, 87 def 95 ranged) that as you leave the 80s d claws lose affectiveness back when i was pking as an 85 with 60 def i used to have to safe through a claw spec, now i really don't worry about the spec if i'm hanging around 40 hp as generally they dont even hit me... and as a longtime pker i have to say i used to be more afraid of d claw specs than ags specs... AGS has always been terribly inaccurate on my tank... and still is. since i've moved up to 87 defense i haven't been hit by a gs spec yet.

wow ur dumb, herblore came out a few years ago -.- lmfao you're kidding right? i have an account with bunny ears which is proof i've played since at least 2003 (which was rsc) and I have played since 2001... hell even my join date to these forums is pre RS2 and you're calling me dumb? herbLORE didn't exist until RS2, but in RSC the SAME skill was called herbLAW and had the same potions your current herblore has minus a few exceptions. Also herb used to be profitable to train to 99... don't criticize something you know nothing about please, this isn't the RSOF

it should be given a 55% spec, but it won't. And BTW super pots have been around since rsc... so you were wrong about that. And even WITHOUT the spec, the msb was the strongest weapon of its time (early RS2). The best damage/sec weapon in the game for melee at the time was the dragon long, and the dds wasn't even out yet so you couldn't use the dds spec for a ko you had to use either the d mace or d long spec (LAWL i know right). MSB provided the best consistent damage in the game and had the best spec in the game which could be done back to back... that is why it was nerfed.

that's not always true, I know of a few "flawless" bots that have been widely circulated and are being used by alot of people right now. The difference between these bots and some crappty public communities bots is that these bots DON'T mess up, and are updated every week as jagex updates, these bots can literally be run 24/7 and do not mess up, do not fail randoms. What most people probably don't know is that jagex cannot detect every bot like they claimed they could awhile back there are far too many accounts doing far too many things on a day to day basis for jagex to keep track of all of the information being generated by each account everyday. Jagex's bot detection system generally isn't activated until someone reports a bot, then that account is "flagged" and a closer look is taken into their playing patterns. The most general way of describing their detection system is that jagex detects what a person CANNOT do, not what a person WOULDN'T do.

silly RS2 products... *Waves cane* back in my day (started 2001) the xp rates in runescape classic were a joke... how about instead of getting a solid 60k+ xp/hr you got a max of like 25k xp/hr for melee stats instead of todays ridiculous xp rates!!

i've been around a long time, and i've dabbled in the cheating community off and on a few times throughout my RS career, my original main from 2001 was banned in 05 for botting... and let me tell you from personal experience... alot more people and alot more accounts than you would typically think, are botted. Generally the cheating community will go through cycles. A new bot is developed and used by a small community and very few if any of those people recieve bans... then as the bots are passed along and sold to more and more people , more of said people are eventually reported and many of those reported are eventually banned... but believe you me, many more people get away with botting then you would typically think. In fact there is a kid who goes to the same college as I do who botted 99 hunter in 2 weeks, I watched him do it and I followed his daily xp gains.... it's been close to 3 months since then and he hasn't recieved any ban... and that isn't the only stat he's botted. The only reason hunter is botted so often is because it is a relatively quick 99 if you bot it, it earns about as much cash as you need to buy claws for a pure, which many people who do bot only bot a pure because they dont want to risk the hard work they have put into their main... so yeah, theres a little bit of knowledge for the more naive scapers out there =)

selling 2 santas the day after they dropped for 50k each in rsc. Selling a green h'ween mask for 35k ea, 2 reds for 30k ea, and trading a blue mask for a rune long either the day after, or a few days after the drop. But honestly, I just wish I had bought party hats back when yellows were like 200k each....

that's why they implemented flesh crawlers :roll: I made 9 million on my pure just from training 54-70 att and 50-70 str.

For instance, 26king - It really didn't take very much time and you could do non combat skills while gaining ep, however, the effects of 26king were much more far reaching then the time needed in order to actually 26k. In truth, pking, is one of the most important activities for the runescape economy; it always has and most likely always will be very important to the runescape economy... if you can't see that, then you're blind or you don't want to see it. Now with so much more to do in runescape, it has less of an effect, but it is still very influential over the runescape economy.

I dont' like quests because I dont enjoy running back and forth all over the world talking to random people and doing crap for them... to me it's a waste of time when I would rather be doing what I want to do, not what some npc wants me to do.

I'm also from 2001... just don't worry about trying to be known, because you won't be known. i used to be a relatively well known pker, nowadays i'm just an oddity. I'm a curious distraction to people who see my level 65 black pure with bunny ears and then they move on and forget about me 10 minutes later. Just find your niche, find what you enjoy about rs and go from there.

tbh, the original definition of a pure was 1 magic 1 prayer.... anything with prayer was a prayer beast. but whatever, definitions change.

My ranged tank originally started his rs life as a level 3 skiller... so I tried to think of a good name for a skiller and came up with "Free Xp Plox". It makes a lot less sense now that he's a ranged tank... but its still a beastly name. For some reason when I was younger I had a fascination with panda's... so thats how my forum name started and my first black pure (back in april 01) came to bare the name "Panda P K"... which i normally wear my bunny ears on, which doesn't really make much sense but whatever. TBH i'm just glad I didn't come up with stupider names when i started rs seeing as how i was like 11.

The argument that skillers are dumb because they're limiting themselves is so stupid... most skillers have or have had a main before... it's not like they're totally missing out on the combat portion of the game... tbh playing a "main" account gets boring, especially after you've played rs for 8+ years like many have, myself included... its the same reason people make pures, it's a different way to play the game, so stop hating.

TBH these boards have become severely anti-pure and it's really lame. The original tip.it forums (pre 2004) also known as scapeboard had a lot of respect for pures and pkers in general... we were the home of some of the greatest pures in the game (mahatma, 3 hit u, etc...). On the old tip.it forums the graveyard section had the most threads on the entire forum. Not many of the old school pkers who earned respect from the community still play and those of us who still do aren't vocal, so we don't stand out in the community. I'm currently playing a black pure of mine that was created in 2001, still has bunny ears and all that good stuff.... i've been pking since the explosion of pures. I think the misconception that pures are immature or jerks or alltogether unsavory characters stems from the fact that as each new generation of players comes in many inevitably create pures. Every new generation of pures more or less "grew up" watching the generation of pures before them. Through the evolution of pking and pures it seems like every "generation" of pures becomes less and less respectful and more and more about flaming. Pking today is nothing like it was in 2001 and I don't just mean the weapons and builds used. It is true that pjing and all other activities generally seen as unsavory in the pking community have always been around... but pking used to be about respect. The community was much smaller back then and tbh there were relatively few pures... most pures new eachother or quickly came to know eachother through pking. I won't deny that there is a large number of immature players using pures, but that's just how the game goes when the community has multiplied so many times. I'm not immature, I don't flame, i'm not arrogant... but i'm an OPK , if you will, Original Player Killer ( :lol: ). I've seen how this game has changed and how the pking scene has changed. And having some generalized hatred of pures is so ignorant, basically you yourself are becoming arrogant, immature, etc... by generalizing pures and giving them the stigma. There are many members of the community who play pures who are not all of the things you seem to think pures are... Don't let the vocal 12 year olds define how you think a pure acts. - Panda P K

this even though iron has been 100 each, since the dawn of its creation? why wasnt it 210 each last year or the year before? Iron ore was 150 ea for years tbh.

no one ever used a long in rsc.... you either used a r2h for the best offensive stats, or a battle axe with a kite...
