Well it's hard to say what caused the initial price rise, but all the subsequent rises in other partyhats are presumably bandwagon-on-hoppers.

An extraordinarily written thread; I can't think of anything to contribute that you haven't mentioned... one week to go until our questions are answered! It would be like jagex to release dragon smithing like they did blood runecrafting though: now that there is no reason to do it. :P

I don't know about the armor, but you can only buy one tool/game, which would make this a bad source of armor if this limitation applies to it as well. The tools are definitely worth it for smithing though :P

People care too much, if I see someone wearing a cooking cape I am unimpressed but I don't flame them either. It's just a game and I think people should be allowed to train whatever skill they want.

Blast furnace costs about 2 gp/xp making mithril bars, platebodies, and alching them. I got 50k/hour at best, around 32k at worst (it all depends on how many noobs there are doing the chores for you). One of my friends said he got 57k/hour there, without a beast of burden. Thanks a million everyone, and I'm glad you like the pics Etpelletier, I wanted to get a level there for sooooo long lol. I want 80 smithing to make sure I meet any requirements for the new quest. I also kind of want 80 construction/herblore so I can do everything in stealing creation, but those require much more money than I have currently lol. Having just achieved the first truly momentous 99 to me since my first (firemaking) I decided to make a general rate this to see what people think of my achievements in runescape to date. Here is the main reason I made this post. :D To give a brief history of my runescape character, I made my account in autumn of 2004, but didn't play until some months later because I had no home computer. Until about a year ago I was an on-and-off member, when I got my own bank account and took membership into my own hands. I got my first 99 (firemaking) in free to play in early autumn 2007. Still being free to play I decided to go for 99 cooking to trim it (well technically, I didn't have the cape lol), and was level 93 when permanent membership was achieved in December. I started my first serious combat training then, and finished up 99 cooking in winter 2008. I continued to raise my combat stats while skilling until summer, when I started doing god wars in earnest. I made about 200M there, which I put towards summoning. I maxed magic and hitpoints at rock lobsters, and got a great many charms. Since then I've been slaying a bit, runecrafting a bit, and recently using dragon bones on my gilded altar. thanks all <3 also played stealing creation, it's really fun but given the pointlessness of the rewards I'm trying to stay focused on prayer :P got a score that was impressive at the time, now it really isn't lol but oh well

I found the game really fun, but the rewards don't seem to be much to speak of unless the tools are truly epic.

my blocked tasks list is like yours but with hellhounds instead of tbirds, blocked them right after smoking kills when there were 8 people/world in taverly are hounds ok now?

I don't understand what's unreasonable about make familiars unaggressive lol. I'm completely impure and I dislike familiar retaliation because at GWD beasts of burden will often attack mini-generals that are on you, resulting in a premature death on the part of the familiar. There is no fundamental question of whether jagex has the right to force a player gain exp here, it's a simple matter of whether or not players should be allowed to stop their familiars from committing suicide. :|

Well I know I can't post any of the correspondence, but I was muted for 1 day by a player mod for arguing with someone claiming Barack Obama is a muslim.

Given the recent release of the dragon forge and the armadyl guardians (everything the uberquest is speculated to be about), I'd say this quest is almost certainly the epic one jagex mentioned awhile ago.
