  1. In case anybody was dying to know this, president bush has 666 days left in office. If you want a hawt countdown timer like I do, visit newprez.com for possibly the best Firefox extension yet... MORE ONTOPIC: I would not say I am anti-American, I just strongly disagree with the direction that the president is taking us. It is sadly true that a huge amount of Americans are morons with superiority complexes. We're dern proud to drive massive SUV's with signs that support a war being fought for oil, whilst the world grows steadily warmer, stoutly refuse to be willing to make the slightest sacrifice of a few clusters of cells to improve thousands and thousands of lives, draw on welfare programs to give the wealthy massive tax cuts, and have a president with and IQ below 100. Personally I wish I was born in Switzerland  Of course the picturesque glaciers won't last very long...
  2. :P yes I couldn't remember how much xp they gave, guessed 210 when they are 150.... If you can do lobsters that cheaply, I will definetely do them to 94. Then I will decide whether to switch to sharks/monkfish.
  3. Whoa, I was thinking along the lines of needing ~12M xp to 99, which is about 57k monkfish. Assuming there is a 100 gp difference between cooked & raw prices, you lose 5.7M. Of course that doesn't include burns, but I doubt they could throw it off by more than an additional 2M...
  4. I have financial issues :boohoo: I was thinking something along the lines of lobsters until I rarely burn monkfish, monkfish until I don't burn sharks, and sharks to 99. Or would it be better to stay with monkfish until 99? How do most people do it? Is it the best way of doing it? If not, what is the best way of doing it?
  5. Once I finish my goal of 99 firemaking, the chances are it will be summer and I will get some members time \ to get my cape. After that I was considering 99 cooking. I wondered what the best combination of lobsters, monkfish, and sharks at what levels would be. Thanks
  6. I could have sworn I saw this topic ages ago... :-k I don't know if this is a sensible argument or not, but fire bolt is a lot slower, which means greater p pot usage (Assuming you pray all the way through Dharok, Verac, and Karil). Like a guy above me said, fire bolt may be cheaper, but not more efficient. If it is less efficient, you are not making money that you otherwise would, which is effectively losing money (it's like selling whip drops to a general store - do you still make money? Yes. Could you be making a hell of a lot more? Yes.) ^ btw trust leesters to come up with an innovative and ingenious solution
  7. I used my rune scimitar until I finished monkey madness, didn't want to waste 100k on a weapon I would never use.... I use a whip now, and a dds when my specs bar gets full. Technically I use a rune scimitar because I haven't been P2P in ages but...
  8. Controlled whip ftw 8-) I haven't gotten a chance to try the anchor, but it sounds decent too.
  9. Top of the screen in f2p :P
  10. OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE - DON'T SAY WE DIDN'T WARN YOU I forgot to screenie that part before it changed :P
  11. I thought this was pretty funny :D The guy actually makes the monks blush several times before he gets muted....
  12. Never 8-) I take long breaks occasionally, maybe to do something more intellectual, or maybe for another game, but I have never considered quitting. What is quitting but just not playing? I suppose I quit every day and then un-quit the next. If you mean quit as in have a huge party and give away all your stuff, no, that's just stupid. All you're doing is burning your bridges so that you can't come back even if you want to in the future (which I suppose is necessary for some people.....)
  13. Yes, there are a lot of skills I think Jagex should expand before releasing another one. Firemaking, herblore, farming, hunter, slayer, crafting, fletching... once you have gotten them to a certain level, there is 0 benefit in getting it farther except to raise your total/maybe get the 99 cape. As cool as the capes are, it would be nice if there were a more tangible benefit in regard to the skill itself that you get for training it into the uber high levels.
  14. Hey, I'm getting 99 firemaking... Partially because I want my total up.... Partially because I want a nice cape, and this is an easy 99... Mostly because I accidentally withdrew all my money and have a members bank so I can't put it back in so I decided to do this
  15. I noticed that awhile ago. I think it would be a little weird for the advanced white knight armor to be better than the initiate armor, which is supposed to be for the best of the best, the temple knights (OK, proselyte is already better than it but....)
  16. Rares are certainly decreasing, but I doubt they will ever go entirely extinct. Eventually they will become so rare that nobody is willing to sell them (this applies mostly to the wearable ones), and just keep them as a sign of status (similar to what they are today, just much much more). It is inevitable that rares will slowly exit circulation through one way or another (Chezedude, one of the best stakers out there, got banned with 16 phats, and probably lots of other rares awhile ago). People are always accidentally eating/alching them. Some people intentionally destroy them. So, they will probably exit the market eventually. But I would be very surprised if some don't remain. Like I said, eventually it will be more of a status symbol to have one than it is to alch one. Then people will start keeping them, they will no longer be for sale, and those lucky people will be really cool 8-) until they die :boohoo: or the game dies :wall:
  17. I've found that people will call you a noob for anything. It's such a cliche it's lost all meaning whatsoever. An example would be me (lvl 94) getting called a noob by a level 60-ish for not responding when he said 'str lvl'? Give me a break. Look it up on the [bleep] highscores if its so important to you. So I suppose you'd call me a 'silence noob'? Whatever. This is why I generally stick to the off-topic forum, runescape and the whole community annoy me. OMG I there was a topic in rants about calling people noobs (I know, how original... ) and I was dying of laughter reading it. The guy who started it was ranting about how a guy with 50 def called him a def noob (he had 40 def). Then one person got called a quest noob...
  18. I have asked him that multiple times Seriously Wakka, you might as well get 99 magic along the way to 99 slayer. You could have a double 99 party 8-) Now I'm off to get my sig back :-w
  19. =D> I shall use this to get 75 FM
  20. *The Great Brain Robbery* "z0mfg jagex favors melee and teh anchor is overpowered..." *update* "z0mfg jagex is teh suckz0rz they nerfed the anchor..." ...
  21. I have met him multiple times at the Varrock anvils, and the Catherby fletching shop. Ran into him once in Taverly too. The only dialogues I could get out of him was the Star Wars one and the one about Varrock being an old city... :-# Hopefully a new section of the Zaros storyline will shine some light on him.
  22. I still wouldn't do it, too risky... You always figure you can handle something until circumstance intervenes, and you lose a piece of guthans :wall:
  23. Look at it this way, you have done something not many people have the courage to do. Loads of people can say they own a blue mask, how many people do you know who have alched them? Like j00b, the uniqueness of the experience should in some way make up for the material loss. Plus, doesn't it feel cool to have destroyed an item that will never again enter RS?
  24. Great article =D> One thing that has occurred to me is that I have no idea how Jagex is going to enforce all those new rules. Start suing people? I can make do without SS, the only thing I liked it for was screenies and quick access to W2, the navigation through the website is a bit annoying, but it doesn't kill me. Now, lots of other people can't stand life without it. Are they going to stop using it? No... so what is Jagex going to do? The same applies to stat-sigs - you can't stop people from putting them in their signatures. Can Jagex detect when people request the hiscores, or jump straight to a world? I'll assume not, which means the only solution is to have the websites that provide them remove them. Of course, SS doesn't require a website to run (I think...), so all the people that already have it can continue to use it. I don't particulary mind losing dynamic sigs - I could care less about what stats somebody is showing off to make people respect him/her more. I already said losing SS won't be a death blow to me either. The thing is, Jagex has banned things that they can't control as far as I can see.... I also agree about those annoying dialogues - realism be damned, they are soooooooooooo boring to deal with... Most of Jagex's money comes from members. If they keep up going the way they are now, they will soon have driven off all the mature people who play their game. It has started already. When only 10 year olds are left, sure they be playing the game, paying Jagex money, hell, Jagex might even be making more money than they are not - the world has plenty of immature 10 year olds. However, what happens when you lock a bunch of monkeys together in one cage? They sure don't fall in love with each other. Eventually, the game will degrade to the point that even Miniclippers won't go near it. Jagex needs to start worrying about their high-leveled players, and focusing updates and policies towards them. I don't mind if they totally cut out younger players. The game is supposed to be for 13+ people, I think I would like such a game much more than I like the current Runescape. Put a huge "WARNING - SOME CONTENT MAY BE UNSUITABLE FOR PERSONS BELOW AGE 13" below the create new account button. Something. If not, immature people will be the death of this game.
