  1. Jagex has promised us more achievement diaries in the near future. Where do you think some of the areas the new ones might focus on will be? I'm leaning towards Morytania and the Kharidian desert - they're among the only other places that have challenges for high level players. A wilderness diary would also be a (rather remote) possibility. Does anyone else have thoughts on this? How about the sort of rewards from the diaries?
  2. I started at 11. Didn't seriously start playing (more than an hour or 2 every week at most) until I was 13. I'm 14 now.
  3. It wasn't a bug... Well you could say it was, but if that's how the spell is (was) made, and you don't do anything wrong, then you aren't abusing anything. Just because they didn't think of that, doesn't mean that it's illegal. Creative Gaming I think it was called in a Tip.it article? Bug abuse = taking advantage of an unintended aspect of the game in a manner that unbalances the game (IE allowing xp far faster than was ever intended) As wonderful as the idea of a spell that allows 99 magic in a few hours is, I somehow doubt Jagex will ever intentionally release one. I honestly don't think it's something you can complain about to be honest...
  4. I like the point raised here. Now here's a question for everyone. If Jagex made a quest req of 115 combat would that be considered fair? These players who have decided their class is solely mage or range won't be able to get that level without significant help from melee skills (thus defeating the point of combat classes). So are they playing a limited game when Jagex, by the way the game is set up, gave us combat classes and also set up the way the combat level is decided? An interesting point, but I think we're safe from a 110 combat requirement for awhile :P Honestly, I don't see why a combat requirement was needed for the quest. The only possible argument, aside from to kick low level questers in the rear, is to keep low levels safe from attempting a quest too hard for them. What kind of reason is that? No, Jagex wanted to do away with "quest pures." Of course, that said, nothing is necessarily wrong with that. Like Mod Ash pointed out, if you are determined to keep your stats low, you can expect to have to make sacrifices.
  5. it's 64 w/ gauntlets, 74 without. I think it's excellent to have well rounded stats, as training every skill brings much more diversity into the game. Completing all the quests is great too :) Maybe write down some techniques for faster skilling too?
  6. I usually wait until a guide comes out :P I wear boots of lightness and a hunter cape. If there's a low level thing I bring a whip, medium level black d hide, and high level I just get up to that point in the quest, they go grab pots & armor & food etc for the fight Without a guide, I'd also bring like 1k, ring of charos, lunar staff, glory, several sets of house teleport runes (I have all the different portals in my house), plus a tinderbox, rope, hatchet, pickax etc
  7. It is rather annoying. I'll just be minding my own business, firemaking, and some level 10 starts following me asking me about my hammer, asking to be "freinds"... I just ignore them now. As a result, I get reported for macroing multiple times every day :D

  10. Technically salamanders are the best, but I use slayer dart so that I can take advantage of the safespots in the tunnels (salamanders don't have range). BTW, all your ancienters out there, I don't use any p pots with slayer dart :P
  11. No moron is going to sell Obsidian Capes for Tokkul. Waste of money, it's the second-best cape in the game. The demand for Obsidian Capes and Obsidian Shields is too high to waste for Tokkul. After the fire cape, and all the capes of achievement?
  12. Why should the people who can't afford furys be helped when "we" the people with furys worked hard for them and are now pay for our hard work. Doesn't seem right . Welcome to the world of RSC players. Before you could afford a fury, did you wish it was cheaper? Unfortunately, you don't have any control over the price of furies. The price of all "equipment" goes down over time. It starts out expensive, then more and more people start using it as a way to make money. It drops. If you look back a few months, this happened with whips too. It happens with everything. Think of it this way: were you ever planning to sell it in the first place? When I get my membership back and buy a fury, it'll be for keeps. Equipment items are generally the sort of thing you buy and then keep forever, using them. OK so you payed a little bit more than it turns out you had to, but you also were able to enjoy the benefits for a lot longer than all the cheapskates who are just buying them now (like me :D).
  13. It dose make me feel happy, I can easily afford a fury now.
  14. MOST of the lower level'd players tend to ask alot of stuff. For instance, when I got my prayercape X-months ago I was almost instantly asked to do the emote when I got to edge ... So I did the emote. 5 minutes later I was asked again so I did again. 10 minutes later I was asked again ... I started ignoring the messages cause I knew i'd have to do it every 5 minutes and doing the emote 50+ times a day is a bit to often for my liking :) Say what you want but when you get asked the same question over and over and you start disliking being asked the same all the time then you start thinking lower of those asking you the stuff. And since MOSTly the lower level'd players ask the stuff ... I like to help out players but I dont want to help out on the same thing over and over and over again. And with all this pming me and asking me questions i have to say that i started ignoring lower levels. And i'm in a clan with 110+ reqs and such so I basically only talk to those who are 110+ and well yea, when you only talk to 'higher levels' you basically start finding those lower levels who ask same stuff over and over obsolete. :| And o yea me being lvl 126cmb can't really make a difference between high levels and low levels, for me 105- is rather low level'd and 120 are those who i meet the most but then again my clan has 24 126s so yea. ^^bleh lol i'm tired and i cant stop typing, even when it doesnt makes sense Don't wear the cape when you can't be bothered showing the emote? I always show it when i'm asked friendly, if they're like 'do cape emote', i'll just continue training like someone never said that. You aren't allowed to wear the cape unless you are willing to do the emote every5 minutes? Just take a look at my sig. I don't have the time to patiently stop and explain what my weapon is, that it's a nontradeable members item, and that I can't give it to you, I'm afraid. As such, I'm bombarded by people following me saying "'traed hammer' 'traed hamer' 'trade hammer noob' 'everyone report aneron he is a macro'". The only way for me to get any training done is to ignore them. Even if I were training a skill like cooking that didn't require constant clicking, I wouldn't reduce myself to talking to someone like that.
  15. I think they should split the hiscores into f2p and p2p. Or else have two separate hiscores, one where you are ranked based on your total, using xp to break ties (like the current one), and one where your rank is based on your xp, using level to break ties.
  16. Excellent article, I look forward to seeing Jagex's next step against the huge issue of real world trading (eliminate it and macroers and golddiggers pack up and leave town). Although this may be a bit hopeful, Jagex has shown that they have the ability and the will to do it, and have done an excellent job so far. Hopefully one day no one will have to put up with sights like this
  17. I'd say this method works, seeing as furies are selling in the 3Ms on the forums...
  18. Sorry if this has already been said, not gonna scan 13 pages, but an untrimmed slayer cape?
  19. Slayer dart :), do it right and you don't use any p pots, unless you get a karil tunnel in which i use like 2. But you use that much on ancients too. So slayer dart>ancients :P I tele to my house, pray at house altar, go through canifis portal.
  20. Once the healers arrive, wait until you can see what attack jad is making and switch as usual. IMMEDIATELY afterwards, attack one healer, and then, right after clicking one, attack another. Once you have clicked the second, look back at jad and switch for his next attack. Attack the next 2 healers, switch, and back to attacking jad. Easy as that. Look at muggiwhplar's guide in the archive of wisdom (fight caves w/o guthans) to see what I mean.
  21. You should read Leester's complete Barrows guide in the archive of wisdom - if has all the info you'll ever need. There's another guide in there with all the ways to mage the barrows on vid (no download required :) ). I myself bring rune, d hide, and mystic (slayer darting, prayer bonuses aren't very important - 99% of your prayer drain will be from the draining effect of the barrows, and cannot be helped). Mage dharok and karil in mystic with prayer on, switch to rune and use up leftover prayer on verac, (still maging), then continue on and deal with torag and guthan in the same way. Range ahrim without prayer, of course. If you tunnel is a melee brother, you can confront him from behind one of the marvelous safespots in the tunnels. Destribute the extra prayer (if it's dharok or verac) as you see necessary. The most ingenious barrows idea I've ever seen is to use your player owned house. You cast house teleport, pray at your house altar, and go through your canifis portal (this requires 50 construction and desert treasure completed though). Defence potions are useful for verac torag and guthan, and only cost 144 gp from the warriors guild. Hope I didn't drown you with information, just look at the guides :P
  22. Too bad you have to do that quest for regicide, mep1, mep2, plague city, biohazard, and the underground pass. DEAD SERIOUS. Actually, you don't have to do sheep shearer for any of those. You have to do sheep herder for MEP 1 & 2, but not for any of the others. DEAD SERIOUS
  23. Mournings End Pt II. Kept putting it off and putting it off... I actually trained herblore and farming to avoid doing the darn quest (btw I got my qp cape with like 61 smithing, 53 herb, and 46 farming... evil stews ftw ) Finally did it though, and it was worth it :) I think I got my cape on the same day as mirrorforced actually (new years eve 06)
  24. Gratz on 98  Do you expect to get 99 before or after (or on :P) June 23 (have it marked on my calendar, the day I get p2p back  )
  25. GL man, I've taken an interest in getting a cape myself recently. If you die this time, try doing it muggi's way (it sure looks easier). Your stats look good enough, may you come out of the caves 2M lighter and a fire cape heavier
