  1. Haha, classic. I know what I'm opening my next conversation with. The last four generations of my family have been born in America, so I don't think I could accurately use that term, just like most blacks can't really say they're from Africa (unless you go back multiple generations). The accepted term is black anyways (by most people). For a lack of PC, watch Gran Turino. Just read some of the quotes.
  2. Real men brew Poitin at home and bare knuckle fight after consuming half a liter of the 95% drink, Rawr!!! I would do that, but the most I can get is 20% (using disgusting distiller's yeast) seeing as the smell of distilling would attract unwanted attention (well, and it's illegal). Even just brewing normally creates a slight yeasty smell, but usually not for very long. Oh, and I've only ever made wine. I assume Poitin is a small family made distilled drink?

Actually a lot of girls like when guys do that too. The problem is when they really don't care.
  4. Real men drink Scotch, not vodka.

My style is nondescript. None of my clothes are particularly noticeable. The only time people comment is when I wear shorts in below freezing temperatures. Although lately, I've developed a liking for shirts like these (although, they're really expensive): http://www.columbia.com/Product/1/Mens/ ... wAll=False I also like a good pair of leather boots and older Sperry's (before they made the design all intricate with laces and whatnot).
  6. Nice hat!
  7. If you want a date movie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is the way to go. Of course, it is rated R, so that might affect some people (although it seriously shouldn't).

I visited /b/ out of curiosity once. I died a little inside. On topic (is there one?), I do like the Off-topic boards.
  9. (linked to youtube video of OK quality) - Animal Collective Amazing song, amazing album.
  10. Beside the comics already mentioned, I find a lot of women comics to be pretty bad and usually especially vulgar. I don't know what it is, but I have yet to see a good female comedian. I guess there just aren't that many of them. On a happier note, new favorite comedian: *Warning: it is economics humor some of which needs economics knowledge to get.*
  11. Play some 70's era rock like King Crimson (avatar) or play some of the Opeth songs with acoustic guitar and "normal" singing. I don't listen enough to know the names of those songs in particular, but they're on Blackwater Park.

    At least wear protection.

If you're on a subway in Britain coming back from a soccer match, whatever they're singing. Otherwise, some good dance music always entertains.
  14. Rap

    Quoi_Tu replied to xlippsx's topic in Off-Topic
I listen to Mos Def and Public Enemy on occasion. Beyond that I know very little about rap.

King of the Hill is amazing; I'm glad they brought it to adult swim. Hank Hill's surprised gasp is probably the best thing about the show.
  16. Lol, it's called a mail-order bride. Don't order from Russia, they always forget to punch holes in the shipping crate. My suggestion is to just tell her that you don't like her getting you into trouble.
  17. Kicked Out - [kitty] Galore From the wonder album, Dial M for [bleep]. Honestly, I don't know why I'm listening to it; their horrible.

That's why I don't like to watch the news. I prefer to read, my sources being the NYT, WSJ, The Economist, and various linked articles from Paul Krugman's and Greg Mankiw's blogs. I trust these sources to be relatively unbiased with the exception of the two blogs.
  19. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was really quite amazing. It was 166 min, but it kept my attention the whole time and really drew me in as if I was reading a book. Highly recommended.
  20. Same here. I don't mind going to chains, but I never really want to.

When I visited Paris, I absolutely loved it, but also realized that I could never live somewhere like it; there just weren't enough trees. Forests of Germany? I love my home: I live right behind that first mountain (large hill), I think; either there or to the left of the city. That's about as much city as I want.

Woke up, ate lunch, went hiking, ordered pizza, and watched Dawn of the Dead. A good day if any.
  24. Hm...I just did that. I like being with people and being alone. I rock. See, now that's just weird... ...and only the squirrels and crows were out today. :( Went hiking though!
  25. I've never been a fan of team sports, but I always like playing with someone else. If the ducks are out today, I'm going to feed them with someone else. :D
