  1. Think altruistically? You ask too much. The sad part is that I am serious.
  2. This thread made me down a whole bottle of antidepressants. I hope you're happy.

Want to go catch ducks with butterfly nets at the park and roast them over an open fire? Always cheers me up.
  6. And I guess a dog can't throw the frisbee back. :P
  7. So killing replaces a crummy court system? Then you have [bleep] up death sentences instead of a [bleep] up court system. [/hide] Not replacing, but it would be a good addition. I really hate how people can kill a person and then get sent out after 20 years. It should be a full life-sentence, not something that you can get away with pretty easily. I don't mean that the two example of cases i posted should be equal to death, but that you need a better and more firm courtsystem, harder sentences and if someone is raping or killing 2 or more - death sentence. I definitely agree that there are a lot of court systems that could use a little (lot) improvement. However, I'd rather the prisoner get a life's work sentence than death. I don't support murder of any kind.
  8. I read this, and immediately thought "Like dogs!". I feel guilty just for that. :| Dogs remain loyal no matter what happens.
  9. Usually it's people who are single (so they feel excluded) or those couples who like to "go against convention/commercialism" and are usually just being angsty. At least, that's what I've noticed. Personally, I don't really like/care about celebrating my birthday, so I guess I'm just not really a holiday person.
  10. China's government scares me. It's pretty hard to understand how so little attention can be given to basic human rights especially in a country that is developing and growing as fast as they are. So killing replaces a crummy court system? Then you have [bleep]ed up death sentences instead of a [bleep]ed up court system.
  11. The Monkey Trial! We have a play of it today in town.
  12. Mail order bride from Russia? Hopefully, they'll remember to punch holes in the box.
  13. If your gonna post a cowboy picture, at least have some class and post John Wayne. [hide=][/hide] Pfft. Clint Eastwood could outshoot John Wayne anyday.

You don't approve of good old fashioned cyber hedonism? Today I cold crashed my High Octane Cider (HOC), which fermented all it's sugar and is unbelievably stiff tasting for 20% ABV. I'm contemplating filtering it to take out some of that harshness, but I might just see how it tastes with some juice mixed in. Besides that, it was a fairly normal day.
  15. I'm working on a spiced hard cider (a little untimely given the weather). However, the batch that just finished is a little off and stiff. I'm probably gonna let this particular batch age awhile before I drink it; let some of the off flavors mellow out. Next on my list is beer (maybe a lager), but I need better kitchen facilities before I do that.

He goes on to say that he understands why the books are appealing, and I don't necessarily agree with his reasons but whatever. Not huge fan of King as a writer but I love his personality. About time someone in the writing world took the time to let everyone know that Twilight sucks. Twilight is what is referred to as "chic lit" (according to past writing profs I've had). Basically, template trash written for 11-17 year old girls. It's where the money is in novels right now. Well, easy money anyways.
  17. Plus, it's an extremely inefficient and costly population control. Why anyone would think it's a good means of keeping population down is beyond me.
  18. It might of been a situation where he thought the apology was understood or he thought you'd know he was at work and would understand his thought process behind the short call. Just a thought. Sorry to hear about the cancer possibility. Hope all goes well!
  19. They can usually tell the point of origin and substance/tool (if any) used to start it.

  21. Bah-Humbug. If I wasn't saving my money, I'd go ice climbing.
  22. The only thing I liked about Miami was the main guy's (H-something) head tilting every which way when he talked to people. Otherwise, my favorite is definitely the original.
