  1. Is a purely speculative argument which holds zero weight in a logical discussion. Actually, it's a very good concern to have in a logical discussion. But I wouldn't call this a logical discussion. It's more of an emotional discussion, and it has been for the past 50 years. It's a social discussion.
  2. You know marriage is one of the seven sacraments in the church right? Why do gays want to associate themselves with us bigots? Because God loves, (most) churches hate. Deny me all you want, but the reason why homosexuality is uncomfortable is because of our religious uprising. Christianity founded more of Western civilization than the ancient Greeks ever did. Denying gays to wed makes you look like a medieval serf: bigoted and uneducated. So very sorry the church was built for such ideals, but I cannot change historical fact. I don't see how following what we believe makes us bigots... Christians, for the most part, just are against it. But then everybody who is for it attacks Christians because they're all so evil just because they don't have the same opinion as them. It doesn't make any sense to me. I said medieval folk. You can be a 21st century Christian: let people live, love (spiritually) everyone, and follow Christ. Or you can be 10th century Christian: ban gay marriage, hate on strangers, and radicalize for Christ. Am I wrong to see the latter being displayed in mainstream American conservatives? Am I wrong to see mainstream American conservatives against gay marriage?

  4. So lets let gays marry, and with that duo-partnership adopted children will live in a house with two parents instead of one! And if you say they can do this already, they can. But further removing the stigma of gays would make more gays come out, more gays marry/live together, more gays adopt, more orphans will have homes, and said orphans won't be bullied in school for having two dads. OR Stick with the old Christian tenants, since I heard the bishop gave our lord an additional fiefdom! I sure wish one of us serfs could get an acre of land to ourselves...
  5. ... $100 is more than $50, yes. You needed a study to find that out?
  6. As un-politically correct as Saq's comment was, its better than the majority of anti-gays. I find it acceptable.
  7. If you think yourself as a closed Estonian, you'll be a closed Estonian. If you think yourself as an open human being, you'll be an open human being. That's the first step.
  8. In my experience and personal theories, there are three main types of freedoms. Social freedom: as we are experiencing with this gay marriage debate. I do believe the freer the social constructs, the better that society is. Economic mobility: Not so much a freedom rather than government regulations, but if the business elites are forced to play fair for the lower classes, then economic mobility is possible. The better mobility, the better the society. Political freedom: Honestly, the least important of the three. If the government upholds the top two, I would not mind living under a Junta. The large percent of Americans who don't vote kinda already don't care for their political freedom. (mind that, that freedoms of speech and expressions are more of a social freedom than a political one.) Lastly, notice I said society rather than state. A powerful state only means a powerful ruling elite, a powerful society means a liberated people. Unless we're part of the ruling elites, I'd prefer to live in a powerful society. There's no reason to prefer to live in an powerful military state (such as USA) than a mildly-important political state (such as...Estonia? Or Argentina, or Bulgaria, or South Africa, or Pakistan) if social and economic freedoms are dutifully exercised by said government. Please pardon for the off-topicness.
  9. I'd let people marry horses if it means homosexuals can marry. If the oddity of a man marrying a horse is the "price" our "morality" or our "marriage institution" pays to have a more open society, then it's a price I'm willing to pay. I'm in this for the ideological standpoint, not so much for financial benefits one may or may not receive. Like Muggi, I do think marriage is a pretty lousy idea, so if marriages loose their tax benefits I would not object. The concept of legalizing homosexual marriage will say more about America's equality, land of the free, than any church's interests and any follower's ego.

I find it extremely sad such things happen. The questioning of gay marriage, I mean. Feels like we're living through the medieval ages sometimes.

I can't remember small history (my main interest) facts and other knowledge when I'm tired. I'm experiencing this now. Spring Break has totally messed up my sleep schedule so I decided to do an all-nighter to restart it. Not sure how effective it is, but, whatever it's done. Gonna take a quick nap after class or else I'll die before lunchtime.

NASCAR is in town this weekend. Had to wait 10 minutes at a stoplight 'cos they decided to visit the local redneck center Brass Bro Shops and cut off traffic to let the trucks through. And they're going to cut down Cherry Ave too, to let spectators through. Cherry cuts the entire town in half.
  13. Rethinking it, mods/workshop doesn't justify $18. Who gets the money? Ensemble Studios? They're gone. Gaben? Microsoft? They got enough.
  14. I'd vote on that. EA, Bank of America, AT&T, and Apple should all be worst companies, with several others in second place. Unfortunately there can only be one loser.
  15. Hm, that does indeed make it worth it. I never actually tried mods on AoE2.
  16. All this talk about Sim City made me nostalgic for SC4. So I reinstalled it and looking to get all sorts of custom content in there, such as NAM.
  17. I don't get why you always have to accept the sex. The only time somebody should you tell you "you should of banged her" is when you [bleep] about missing the opportunity.

I second this. I mean, Movie Maker is to Legos what Primiere is to laying down real bricks. You're old enough to lay down bricks, it's not that hard, nor much of a change up. Screw scripts, get outlines. **Also, by avoiding Movie Maker you avoid those ugly ugly ugly text transitions/animations. Some people get bugged by Comic Sans, I get bugged by lame ass Movie Maker animations.
  19. It's nice to have a higher resolutioned AoE2, but I'm not sure if its worth $17. I already paid (rather, my father paid) my copy years ago.

Countries are just plots of land ran by legalized crime. That's all I'm going to say about the matter.

You should learn to not give a damn about your "cultural/national" group. Are you friends with every Estonian? I think not. As for movie software, I second Windows Movie Maker if you're absolutely new into it. Having some experience, Adobe Premiere Elements (then CS Pro) would be the next step...but those aren't free.

No. I didn't want to make one huge ass list. But it's my fault for not being specific. *ahem* Finns, Estonians, Latvians, Lithuanians, Magyars, Romanians/Moldavians, Albanians, and Greeks are the Eastern European countries NOT Slavic. Neither are Norewigeans, Swedes, or the Turkish. I shouldn't of opened my mouth. I'm not trying to label Estonians as anything, me out of all the [bleep]ing people in America understand the differences between Estonia, Slavs, Finns, and Magyars. I was just referring that the average person ANYWHERE in the world doesn't know crap. I'm not Anglo, btw. My user name is my last name, it is an Italian name. I speak Spanish due to my Argentine immigrant ancestors. I get compared to Mexicans by the Anglo-Americans and get compared to Anglo-Americans by the Argentines. I understand cultural differences, I'm not an idiot.

No, I was gonna say Western USSR. Well of course you're not Slavic. But the average Anglophone think Estonians, Magyars, and Romanians are practically the same as Slavs. Again, because they don't sound Italian/German and probably play the bad guys in organized crime movies, they're all the same vague "eastern" European. I doubt most of them know what the term slav is.
