Power Supply Question
There's no fan on the bottom of the cooler by the way. With that cooler they're expecting your case to have a top vent of some sort, so that cool air can be sucked in or that the hot air can be sucked out from the power supply directly out of the case.

Should I custom build a new computer?
Well if you're buying off of the internet, the things are very, very easy to buy the products. I don't know what you'll be using it for, but with the below build you'll be able to use it for almost anything that isn't extreme...: How about $800? http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,2 ... 620,00.asp It has current prices, pictures of some parts, benchmarks with 3dmark and other programs, benchmarks with like 8 current-on-the-market games. And the benchmarks aren't half bad in my opinion, it's well worth what you'd get for $800. Also you don't need to worry about the OC'ing part. ------- Tutorials on how to put a computer together: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwLvgmmF164 And there's dozens on the internet through Google.

Jagex Twitter Update: Jagex CEO interview Part 1 of 3
That was actually a pretty good flowing interview that didn't sound like it had been 'prettied' for online reading. Which is always good. Part two though is what is really going to interest me, if it's the same length as this one and there's not a lot of "No comment" answers. >.>

Jagex Twitter Update
It sounds like a new random event, lol. :) "In what state am I?" All sounds like the person blacked out and then found themselves confused in some land. Just like a freaking random event. Lol.

No more freeloading in Fishing Trawler
This will make sure that everyone is doing their job, what bad could come from that? :P More competition. I like the idea of activity bars though, good job.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
It's similar yes, but to me it doesn't feel like a James Bond cinematic for a game. :/

Mechscape=delayed longer
Wait so you speculated this, or do you have a direct source or various sources to link to?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Sorry, I didn't see a gunwatch.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Interesting and somewhat informative trailer. Makes me want to get it even more. Glad it was like all in-game footage as well.

Left 4 Dead
That crossword was epic lulz to do just by memory. I didn't know 4 on the down and 3 on the across. Good game.

Smash Club.
But how many people are going to take the time to learn or even attempt top level play, and just buy the game...play it only when friends come over, which would be like once in a blue moon? Meh, I really don't know, I was just being stereotypical of Nintendo, lol. :)

When?
They first said Q1 of 09, in my opinion I'm glad they didn't release it then and just said "We'll release it when we think it's good enough to be release". This would indicate that they care for the game and don't want to spoil it, and have learned from past game developers mistakes for releasing a game too early from pressure from publishers. OR it's an elaborate marketing ploy to get us hyped up or "believe in" Jagex more that this game will be actually good. Either way we still don't know when, as they didn't say any release date. Assuming though that they thought they would have been ready for Q1 of 09, tells us the game has to be very close to being complete, as in the engine works, game physically works, animations and models are rendered appropriately, but things like content may still need either polishing, or bug fixing or even bug testing. In my opinion I think they thought they'd be able to go on Q1, but then in October they implemented a major system to the game (like combat, large amount of Quests, a large mini-game, or something that is vital to the games success or a core feature of the game) but for some reason or another it didn't work as they had planned and couldn't fix it before January. Or this problem was solved but then it created either more problems or some other content had to be revised for the solution, which would be taking up a large amount of time. Just my thoughts. So if nothing problematic pops up we should get word about 'when' in June/July, since Q1 is already over, and Q2 is here. Just my opinion though.

Tip.It Times: 24 May 2009
Lol, underground pass. >.> I think that Quest was my sole motivation to get 60 agility after I had completed the Quest. The article by Stormrage though was something that had already been touched upon countless times in previous articles: http://tip.it/runescape/index.php?times=204 http://tip.it/runescape/index.php?times=196 http://tip.it/runescape/index.php?times=171 http://tip.it/runescape/index.php?times=110 http://tip.it/runescape/index.php?times=99 Just a few of the articles that heavily relate to this short, and very weak with arguments article. I know finding topics is a difficult one, but this article was short, and the arguments in it were very weak. And the main 'idea' around it was just so related to so many other articles.

Smash Club.
My Kirby detector came on. Brawl+ sounds like the version of Brawl for those that play the game for more than 30 hours a week and want a hardcore version of Brawl that should have been brought out from Nintendo, except that Nintendo was catering towards casual players at the time. Right? Anyways I want to give Brawl+ a try, but the Smashboard scrubs are like so disorganized in my opinion. Lol. :P + I haven't played Brawl in like four months, lol.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Not really "new". And 10:30 GMT is like 6:30 PM (or AM?) Eastern for us timezone nerds.

Graphics
When they say one or two steps beyond Runescape HD they could just be saying this subjectively, or for how efficient the graphics are rendered, with minor graphical improvement. They could even be saying this because we could be playing in first-person perspective and we'll be able to see the textures up close and be like "Oh wow, this is really good", but when you zoom out to third person, it really just looks similar to Runescape HD quality, just a tiny bit more filtering and a bit more textures on the models for the close-up perspectives. If they're going to be using DirectX then they'll be able to take advantage of video cards, and if that is their aim, then we'll probably seen more human-like models (if there's humans), and not the squares that are the Runescape models. An example would be the characters skin, it won't just be one colour, but shades of the same colour, we'll actually have eyes in-game, hair will be more detailed, weapons won't be three colours with lighting on them, but may even shine and have texture on them that doesn't look like a repeating pattern. I personally not expecting some major graphical improvement at all, just a lot more textures on objects and finer detail on models like eyes, hair, skin, clothing...etc. Also how the game makes you view things is a huge factor as well.

A little collection of what we know
I read MS and think of it like the medical condition #-o Lol, I read it and thought of MS just because I watch House. Lol. ---- I'd like to know how their playstyle is going to be so different from other MMO's. I've played a ton of MMO's to be honest and developers before release always go on about how their game is 'different', 'revolutionary', or 'entirely different in the way that you play other MMo's'. While sure the game is different, the way in which you play it is hardly ever different. Same UI set-up, same basic way to 'train' whatever it is to train, same way to do quests, same way to do skills/levels (both are the same), and I've never seen a true attribute system. I could see Jagex using an attribute system and not a skill/level system, where you earn points, and then you can choose which attributes you want to put these points in. There's this game series called Dark Alliance, and it's when I first encountered an Attribute system and it was epic. When I needed to be more accurate I put more into accuracy, when I needed to be stealthy or quiet, I put more into that. You could wipe your attributes w/o loosing points, and you could just take away one or so at a time for each attribute and use it on another. While this would only remove the need for levels/skills, it still doesn't change gameplay. You need to earn these points in some fashion. Thus this is where developers would say they've got revolutionary gameplay, when in reality it's only just something different about levels, and not different about how you obtain the points, levels or experience. Still no game has really made a breakthrough without using this like 10 year old MMO template with levels, and quests, and very similar combat systems either turn based, real time, or directional. So I have a hard time believing that MechScape will actually change the way you play games. Thus Jagex is only going to be labelled as a company that wants money and not the best interest of players if they continue to advertise that they've got a unique game different from every one else's. Then again Jagex is a very smart company, and they don't have publishers killing their ideas, so they may provide something different. But if it is truly something different then it'll be a hit or miss by the players.

Your Stellar Dawn username
I remember this, was it Twitter, or was it that recent interview? In my opinion they should do what the majority of others do. You have a login name and a display name. This display name differs for each game you play, but the login name stays the same. Would solve a lot.

Rank Contest - Questions here! >July 12
From my interpretation it hasn't started yet, thus why this thread is here, in order to prep us or fill out any questions we may have about it beforehand.

Your Stellar Dawn username
Well it is quite annoying when you have an account on Runescape, yet you don't want that name with Funorb, or Mechscape, so you make a new account. Thus you can't get that deal where if you pay for RS/FunOrb membership it's a bit lower than if you bought individually. So really it's going to be more expensive if you play it on another account as you won't get the deal, even though you're the same person. Unless I'm missing something. Lol.

A little collection of what we know
RuneScape was aimed at the 18-20 year olds, and look how it degraded after 5 years even. Hopefully though that the Quests (or whatever will resemble Quests) are darkly themed, or are mature...and it attracts some of the MMO gaming veterans out there and give Jagex the recognizition they deserve.

Wow it almost is a year since the switch...Naysayers about the switch failed. :) Direct upload would be nice, but really it's not hassling anyone that much.

Interview: Jagexs Mark Gerhard
If Jagex wants to get on consoles, they will have to submit defeat to the big three. There is no way in heck that M$ would allow the same business model as the online model is. Sony the same but Nintendo may do something different, but their interests are money.

Interview: Jagexs Mark Gerhard
I was going to post this, but when I had read the article, I found out that nothing new or interesting really stands out. Unless of course you think playing RS on the Wii/PS/XboX is worth giggling over when you're going to be made to pay for the free version to download it, and then pay again for the premium. But too bad that the monthly subscription is most likely going to be double what you'd pay if you were playing it online. It's just how Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony like to work and make money. So yay, get excited for an overpriced soon-to-be game that is much cheaper on the PC!
