1. Magic spells look so much better. <3 Run energy update is good. Gf agility in F2P.
2. Screw Vista, and go Windows 7. You can even torrent the latest version of the RC for Windows 7 and have a free O/S till January or February, or until it's commercially sold. :)
3. When you look at the money the teams won, then divide by four or five for the members, it's pretty motivating to place in the top 3 to be honest. Anything else past that is worthless. :/ Hopefully in two years the average prize per championship is 40k and not 20k. Would really bring a new dynamic to the leagues.
4. They edit/write articles for the Tip.It Times. Good job so far though. ;)
5. Lol, I just about died when dfchester said these forums would be swept away, lol.
6. I thought I would, but then I 'felt' the status at which my fingers were at, and it just wasn't cracking time... I crack my back all the time, when I wake up, or to bed or just been sitting for so long and such. My neck a bit as well. I can crack all my joints except my hip, though I only feel relaxed from cracking the knuckles, and I can't just crack one finger or whatever. I have to crack the knuckles, then the second knuckles, then I twist the end of my fingers to crack the last knuckle. I have to do it for every finger and the two thumbs. And about every 2 hours or so.
7. All this reminds me of is Cell by Stephen King. Yea, it's going to happen.
8. Not really early, they still made top five, barely though. I don't know what happened to Instinct though against Classic, that was just wrong, Instinct is the better team. TD Vs Str8 Rippin in an extended series though was pretty epic. Though the last 5 matches were a complete domination against TD though. Str8 might actually win the next tournament.
9. I thought that would happen. :-#
10. Pkers/Duellers have never been the dominating population in Runescape. Skillers, questers and mini-game lovers have always out-populated the PvP division. Also site traffic is nowhere near accurate. The 60k that I said, were the members that discontinued their membership. The site traffic accounts for F2P and P2P, not just members. If you want to include the amount of F2P'ers that quit fine, but it's nearly impossible through site traffic levels, as the traffic to the site would have increased with the news of such a change to the game. As well, from my personal memory I remember there being close to 150k players being on at the peak times, and then in January that 150k crumbled down to 50k to 70k. Half, but I think it's inaccurate anyways to judge from that player counter.
11. I don't mean to argue here, but this is a stereotype that gets put through almost every Tip.It Times thread. First just look at all of the replies to the articles, everyone is saying that the Dupe article and the Penguin article were very enjoyful. In my personal opinion these two articles have been the best articles in the past three months, setting aside from one or two articles in the past three months that could be debatable. Perhaps those two articles didn't peak your interest, but they certainly were very well done, and were pretty exciting to read, even if for the Dupe article we pretty much knew it already. But I don't want to create a debate in this thread, I'm just pointing this out because it always appears in the article's threads, even when it's just a stereotype given to the Times. ------ I thoroughly enjoyed the Penguin article. That was pretty darn epic, but was insightful. I'll have to sleep with the lights on from now on tbh. The dupe thread was nicely worded to fit in with the 'story-telling' feel of it, and it was a good read. Though I think Jagex should have done a rollback back then, but they were too inexperienced I guess. Even if they had a smaller playerbase, it would have been the best decision regardless.
12. If I have the money for it, I'm going to buy it, and I also need to make sure I make the money back or more from whatever I buy. As soon as any of the buyable skills become profitable to buy, I'll probably invest in them. However cooking I may just fulfill from fishing lobsters, salmon and trout. Though things like smithing I'm not particularly sure I want to spend the time banking, or losing money just buying the items. For me it depends on the economical situation around the price of the items that I could buy to not be self-sufficient, but if I need the items, then I'll be self-sufficient.
13. That was in the first month, a J-Mod on the forums leaked that number but said it was worth it over potentially losing more to RWT through bans or quitting. That was the number for December/January. I'm a pretty active person in the pure world and since December 07 till now, there's been countless amounts of pures quitting the game. Not to mention that mains or pkers that are mains also just quit the game. I do feel that at least 1/4 of the games population centred around the PvP aspects of the Wild and Dueling. A huge majority of that quarter have not stuck around, as obvious by the numbers pulled for clans, either mains or pures, through-out the year of 08. -------- However the new CEO, Mark Gerhard, is probably the best CEO we've had, well, if Jagex even needs to publicly announce a CEO, and by the looks of his work as a CEO, with all the social contact and the support with clans he's gotten done, I have to say Runescape looks brighter than it did in all of 07 or 08. Don't blame Jagex, blame Geoff Iddison for screwing up our wonderful game.
14. You should elaborate more in your future posts, and probably in this one before a mod comes and locks this...:/.
15. Well Carbon left that teamwork at the door against Believe the Hype. I thought Carbon was going to dominate BtH, but BtH just 3-0'd Carbon in CTF, Oddball and slayer. Interesting enough though is Status Quo's match against classic, which has turned into an 11 game series, since this is their second time meeinting up in this tournament. Lol, going to be long. :)
16. GOM Media Player (or whatever that crap looking one is, lol) mIRC Chrome/Firefox Latest version of Java/Flash Driver updates for your graphics, and peripherals Ventrilo/Teamspeak uTorrent Gadwin Printscreen xFire FRAPS Some things things, but if OldJoe is correct then I wouldn't even bother with all of this excess programs beyond the driver updates...Return, pay more.
17. Two years ago I was a failure and got a 32bit. So for one year I was kind of depressed about it. Then the idea hit me; Hey I could just change to 64bit with minimal hassle. But yea, 64bit these days is much more worth it than 32bit, and since I have 10 tabs in Firefox, and 20 tabs in Chrome open all the time, and like things like resource hogs like xfire or a game (or two), the extra memory (6GB) is mandatory, and when I make a new build in 1 or 2 years I'm going to have to get at least 8gb of RAM, maybe more depending on how cheap DDR3 becomes then, or if we're using our SSD's for RAM in those days, lols.
18. It shows new posts since your last visit, so if you closed the tab or window, it'll disregard all of the posts since that visit since. I think it's all by one person is just a coincidence however. May even be a problem with your browser, but I think you've just visited and left too many times?
19. They put WoW in there because of popularity as well as whatever the Arena offers for 'skill'. I don't watch WoW or GoW2, but I pay attention to Halo. Though only because it's a FPS and it's worth watching to see dual headshot snipes, or killing sprees out of nowhere. Also entertaining since it shows where the competitive league for games or FPS's are heading to or where they're at. I don't really like Halo though so it's for those kill streaks or the 'wow, how'd he do that?' and such. Can't wait till Call of Duty 4 though is brought back into the circuit later this season. Tonights match-ups were pretty epic. Triggers Down lead by SK and pisto1a really are why they beat Final Boss. Pisto1a going really huge in the first match with a 12 kill streak, and then SK being an actual nuisance to be honest through-out the entire series to Final Boss. Then Instinct Vs Str8 Rippin, probably one of the most heated, most anticipated match-ups since 08 championships. Neither team disappointed and it felt like a championship series to be honest. 2-0 to str8 Ripping, then Instinct came back with 2-2, but Str8 just pulled ahead in Slayer. I think Str8's individual talent is what led them to win 50-41 in the last game, which isn't Instincts strong point, more so teamwork for objectives. Was intense. Will be interesting to see what team emerges from the losers bracket to fight for the championship game. I'm going to go with Str8 Rippin to emerge from the Champions bracket however to go into the Championship match. They may play against Instinct again in my opinion. Oh well, can't wait till tomorrow @ 3pm till 9pm eastern, is where these three matches are going to be epic.
20. Hopefully a lot of you know about Major League Gaming or MLG. For those that don't it's basically a professional (yes, as in paid) league for Halo, Gears of War 2, and now World of Warcraft (Arena). Halo is the flagship game they support, with the largest winnings as well. Anyways it's a league thats been around for a good 6 or 7 years? Anyways if you want more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_League_Gaming mlgpro.com (For this weekend you'll be redirected to the live broadcast of the leagues going on, so you'll need to click another link or whatever to find information on the organization) ----------------- This time around MLG is at Columbus and has already gotten their way through about half of the season already, but I thought now would be the time to start the speculations on the winners of this circuit spot, and I'll include some recap on the good games this Friday and Saturday. One match I want to bring up is Str8 Ripping Vs Carbon. That was a very back and forth match, but Str8 really did just narrowly pull a win from there. I'm thinking Carbon if they follow the consistency they showed against Str8 they'll get into the semi-finals for the loser bracket at least. Instinct dominated Believe the Hype anyways so thats not really worth mentioning, but what is, is Final Boss dominating Ambush, and Triggers Down dominating Classic as well. At 7:30 PM EST, we have Str8 Ripping going against Instinct and Final Boss Vs Triggers Down. Will be epic. I'm thinking Str8 will pull the win and TD will out-perform Final Boss in teamwork. ----- So yea, if anyone else watches the MLG Pro Circuit or is a fan of MLG post away if you watch it and maybe we can get a channel going on the tip.it irc to talk about the matches on Sunday or we could do a ventrilo/teamspeak thing as well. Also I'm only a Halo fan for MLG, can't stand watching GoW2 or WoW, but don't let it stop you from posting about the two games here if you follow them. I don't know how many people here actually watch the live broadcast on MLG or even watch the matches, but I'm hoping to find some of you do.
21. That is actually a bit more useful than the standard DYK's, lol. :)
22. Tbh, it was the bots that kept the market the same for so long. Prices on items would have increased drastically if there weren't bots to fill our demands for the item. We saw this happen when tons of bots got banned and the prices on yews increased to 480gp and lobs increased to 420gp on numerous occasions. Sure everyone was happy with how the economy was, everything produced had profit, but it was a false economy due to the bots. Without them prices would have skyrocketed from the demand that kept on increasing through the years but when unnoticed because bot use increased on a regular basis, keeping the prices down in-game.
23. Not really. Yours is basically about it being a hoax, while this talks more about what the purpose of it is. Or thats how the threads started out.
24. [hide=Wallpapers] [/hide] - To hide the images even if they're large. ----------------------------------------- I think people took MechScape and thought machines was what the game is all about, and so with these wallpapers containing machines they're just getting into a frenzy. No one ever said the concept arts that were found through the various Jagex artists were for MechScape. They could be for any game on FunOrb, Runescape or MechScape, or just totally random doodling. Either way it still prevents several possibilities: 1, these were pre-planned and have no relation to MechScape; 2, these were planned to hype up MechScape's release through a taste of the experience with these games; 3, Someone @ Funorb wanted a futuristic game on FubOrb.
25. Stephen King. You won't be immediately scared, or shocked, but the feeling of being helpless, or not in control will stick with you for a very long time, and will continue to peck at your conscious for weeks. I've read the majority of his books and when I think about certain scenes in the books, or how they work with each other, it's very unsettling.
