  1. The Age of Conan music wasn't that bad, but the music in MW2 is going to be off the hook because of the composer, Hans. Like totally off the hook intensifying composer. Like brilliance... I don't really think any game has really hit that right sound to make music an entire different dimension or able to set the atmosphere. Like L4D does a good job at notifying you and setting the pace, but it doesn't separate the ambient and background audio as an entirely different part of the game play. I could cheat and say that audiosurf has the best in-game sound. :P
  2. TERRIBLE GAME. When you get bored of Runescape you should go and try MW2, Operation Flash Point 2, and L4D2. FPS > MMO's.
  3. http://www.gametrailers.com/episode/gametrailers-tv/74&ch=1&sd=0?ep=74&ch=1&sd=0 Entire GTTV is focused on MW2, pretty epic interviews with the creators and CEO. Exclusive content from MW2 in there as well. Special Ops mode looks AWESOME.
  4. I guess we're going to have to wait on the staged event that makes Obama look like a ghandi 2.0. Fun times ahead.
  5. Money is irrelevant for space. Besides, the amount of money that would come from the solutions formed from a moon base would be more than whatever you could think of. Space Learning > Earth.
  6. Welcomed fix in my opinion. I don't play, but I can see how it made PvP cater towards those that invested more time.

    PSP Go!

To be honest any portable piece of technology right now is so pointless to buy in comparison to the iPhone. Why would I spend over a thousand dollars on all these different devices that only do one thing, when I can buy an iPhone, and have it do everything said devices do, but much more? Portable gaming handsets aren't useful anymore unless they can use the internet, make phone calls, text, allow indi developers...etc. Anything else is just milking your money and the iPhone or other devices can do what it does anyways and more. Why I won't be getting one.
  8. Popcorn and asparagus blended together. Then again, the colour of the two in liquid form is epic, but that's what gets you to drink it. Cunning devils.
  9. Only to a certain extent. You'll get tired, but eventually it'll just go over your head, and as long as you stay with your conditioning, you won't feel like you're dying, you'll either enjoy it, or wonder why you're still running. Once you get to a certain point, it's just the matter of getting past that mental block of being too tired to continue or it's not worth it or whatever negative thing your mind creates. After you get through this wall or block, it's just a matter of your conditioning to keep you going. Being tired is negligible. I've been in 20km 'races', and it's all about staying focused, and thinking positively. Physical fatigue is a very low priority on the list when you're in the zone. Though most people do sleep pretty well the night after a marathon, lawl. Those cardio benefits are huge though. Cardio in itself is the best reason to run, anything else is practically not relevant in comparison to how much healthier you'll be. Running will keep you in shape, as long as you run three times a week for at least 20 to 30 minutes. Distance is irrelevant for staying in shape. Just stay committed, run three times a week, 20 to 30 minutes, and you'll see improvements within the first two weeks. You don't need $200 shoes if you're not going to be competing in a race. A pair of $60 shoes from Sport Chek, or whatever shoe store will be enough if you're just running once a day, maximum of four times a week, and you don't have any foot/knee/hip/back conditions. The rule of thumb is just to replace your shoes every six months, especially if you're running, regardless of shoe type. If you're running twice a day, every day except one day a week, and you're training hard, you should already know to replace your shoes within two to three months of such training, and you should have those $200 shoes, as well as custom fitted orthotics. Google this "Shoes For Average Running" for just personal health refinement. If you're wanting to run to get into condition for actual competitive engagements, seek a specialty running store in your regional area. They'll most likely be able to custom fit your orthotics and the type of shoes you'll need to do the best. They'll also tell you specifics about when to get new shoes, how you should run...etc.
  10. Vents + No Flashlight = Terrifying. Pretty much sealed the deal when I first played HL. If a game can get across just a quarter of the emotions that any HL game is able to bring to your face, then said game will be a success. Whether I was being terrified, pumped up or cautious, it all felt freaking real. The immersion is just so compelling, that you are Mr. Freeman and this is what makes the game a classic. What really made it such a success was the back story, the modding community and the UI.
  11. Crash Course is pretty darn epic for versus. Good job Valve, really enjoying it. Though the game itself is getting that boringness again... Meanwhile:
  12. Please go read this topic if you're committed to this suggestion: http://forum.tip.it/index.php?showtopic=217455&view=findpost&p=3316820 http://forum.tip.it/index.php?showtopic=217455&view=findpost&p=3322539 These are the arguments that were brought up in the previous thread and there was no counter-argument to why they weren't feasible, other than that spammers may be able to spam more. ----- Forums that people would run into the delay the most: - H&A - Rants - Blogscape - Video Games & Consoles - Music, Movies & Television - Forum Games - Private forums; but why should they even have a limit in a private forum? --- There may be solutions to the spamming problem though: - Limit the overall posts in half an hour to 50 & overall threads to 5; while the time limit is set at something more userfriendly - After 700 posts let the time limit go down to 20 seconds; the odd case may spam after 700 posts, but really its negligible if hundreds of users are enjoying this feature - I don't even think there's a mod, or its even possible to reduce the time limit by the amount of posts, other than using usergroups, which may take too much time to complete IIRC how the usergroups work in IPB - It's still doable though. If anyone can see the problems in the above solutions post. Or are the problems that may arise from the solutions negligible to the reward from using the possible solution? Personally, I run into the time limit more than I'd like to.
  13. I'm here for OT and something to do at 1 am in the morning. Mainly for Video Games forum though, no other gaming forum reaches the community feeling I get from there. Also enjoy discussing the game as well, but I do not play.
  14. When you're able to identify the questions as to what those questions will lead your results to be, it becomes quite boring and predictable on how you want to shape the outcome, whether or not you feel guilty, excited or annoyed at the limited possible results. Just why I think such tests are inaccurate, as they do not ask any hard hitting questions, but plain questions that have no real insight into a person. Who wants to be told that they may commit one of the major crimes or who'll most likely commit suicide...etc. I'm ISTJ and only halfly agree with the stuff.
  15. Is it just me or is the lighting on the character off for him to be outside? Haven't played in awhile, so it could just be me, but whatever.
  16. This is why I'm not playing Runescape any more. I thought I need maxed stats, then I thought I need millions of GP, then I thought I needed the items, then I thought I needed those items to kill every monster, then I thought I needed all quests to be done, then I thought I needed to get all the stuff from mini games, and then I started to realize something. By the time I acquire all of these things, there'll already be tons of other content to achieve and get and I'd have to do the same process over and over again. Then realized, I don't play anywhere near enough to get it all done. And then finally realized that there's tons of other games I'd rather play that weren't grind fests, or made me play 5+ hours a day to be able to do what I want to do. FPS's, I pick up a gun, and I can kill people, and not have to worry about them beating me because of the time they've invested into training this or that skill, or about how much money they spent into this item that I could never afford to acquire. Just kind of dawned on me one day. The one thing I regret not being able to get in RS was probably to get 30 kills in a row without dying in free to play PKing. Was a goal I had for awhile and I only got within 5 to 7 kills before dying from some odd and varying reasons.
  17. The technological and creative game play OoT introduced to the gaming industry warrants and backs up everything OoT gets now and in the future. Then again Half Life series also did this and changed the course of the industry as well.
  18. This questions is more than just about an individual or multiple monsters. This question encompasses the entire combat system located within the game. If Jagex redesigned the combat system, they would most definitely incorporate some system that legitly keeps monsters from being solo'd regardless of future updates. However Runescape is old and based on an old system that has been built around for seven years. Trying to make a monster that isn't solable with everything we have in the game today is an almost impossible task to solve, but it probably won't be the creative and cunning experience we're asking or imagining. Jagex would have to redesign the entire combat system if they wanted really hard monsters in the game, that had great AI, or even able to counter basic techniques in the game.
  19. Trying to steal the spot before Ink gets it back up eh? It's hardly a big deal and getting defensive over posting the link first isn't going to matter in a few weeks of time anyways, and posting to glorify myself is something I've already done well in the past. Thanks though. :P
  20. You know, I think that's already been lost. The Tip.It staff is one working body. It doesn't look professional, nor presents the staff well, when the staff argue with each other in the public boards/have strikingly different opinions. Majority of the staff will post like a staff member and follow form. However, that doesn't mean they aren't having different opinions in the IRC, or other private contact tools. Also the staff that do post in this forum have usually been around a longer period of time and have grown to the ideals of previous staff. A lot of you wanting a Sports/Health forum need to be realistic. Off-Topic doesn't get 8 new topics every day. It usually takes four or five non-sports/health topics to spawn a sports/health topic, which will probably be locked, or die within the other threads already existing. The ones that remain are either personal or for large events like the Super Bowl. Lesser topics such as fantasy leagues, in-depth analysis of different sports/games/matches/players/teams/rulesets are rarely posted. It is these smaller but far higher quality topics that would keep such a Sports forum alive. However, we largely see only 'main' event related sports topics, regarding to World Cups, or Finals. These types of topics are Off-Topic, not a Sports main topic. Why? Because the general population what's the general knowledge learned from such events to not look stupid in social events. Video Games forum is alive because the individual games are discussed. If Off-Topic only received topics regarding large games like MW2/L4D/Game Avenues like TGS/DC, there would be no need for a VG forum. This is the same with Sports. There are no quality topics that do not pertain to the large overwhelming topics like the Super Bowl. The only way a Sports/Health forum would survive is with such identified topics above being posted daily. However there isn't. When there's topics about individual player stats, individual & smaller league discussions for each game/sport/matches like discussing a college football league, or a regional soccer league or qualifying leagues for the Olympics/professional leagues, or any other lesser known but still quite interesting to the Sports enthusiasts, then that's the time for a Sports forum. Yet as I've said, we only get the major events posted about, not the lesser topics that would be equally satisfying to Sports enthusiasts. This is also what the staff of Tip.It is either missing entirely or not posting about in order to consider the possibility of a Sports forum. Nor has this aspect of why a Sports forum could be successful has ever been posted about in the previous 13 topics I could find in the back pages. Why would a forum be needed when there has never been the consideration or discussion from the users suggesting the very topics/threads that would keep the forum alive? When all the users suggesting the forum only focus on what is currently being posted and not what is possible but is needed to be posted? Let's not go to the argument of "If it is made, they will come", because over the course of the three years I've been looking in here, this argument has been brought up, but there has never been a follow-up from the users to even prove the existence of such a possibility of such topics becoming a reality in OT. Adding in a 'Health' to the name would be misleading. You would need 'Personal Fitness' instead of Health to not confuse the masses anyways. Then again do we want 13 year olds telling people to do 20 push-ups every day to get ripped abs in just two weeks? Or to eat this 'natural' product that has dangerous side-effects? Yea, nice.
  21. Glad the forums can finally start getting back to the normal condition of posting. Was a really big drag. Will be looking forward to that Tip.It theme skin though...:P Gj TIF Staff. - Is the blog functionality in the 'UserCP' able to be intregated with the normal forum topics? So your blog could be used as a topic in a whatever designated forum? May lead to some interesting possibilities for Staff members and normal users alike.
  22. Great freaking initiative by Jagex. They're definitely experimenting with game distribution systems.
  23. That's going too far. It'd really suck to get halfway through a quest and find out you need 85 Mining for one tiny part to go any further. Indeed, yet how many quests have 'one tiny part' for such a high level requirement, or that isn't completely justifiable? And besides, what quests are so long that it would be much of a pain? Like most quests are only 10-20 minutes, when a dwarf says you need to go mine some mithril, that's a pretty good indicator beforehand to not continue on doing the quest. This is part of what I'm saying, that it adds to the puzzle side of playing the quests right and using some brain and not just reading pretty much what you have to do in-game. Fansites are a different manner as they're avoidable, but in-game, you're almost forced to check or will be told.
