  1. I've gotten that type of an error many times before. Though refreshing whatever page I'm on has always fixed the problem.
  2. So I watched the video and thought to myself that this was RuneScape in space.
  3. The game is slightly more difficult than the first one is. I just hope there's a bridge between L4D1 and L4D2 for the PC so all of the issues with competitive leagues can be set to rest and not this debate of splitting into two separate leagues or a single league with a mod to L4D2 to modify it more to what L4D1 brought to the table, that L4D2 really did not improve on (competitive wise). Still a good game though, even though the concept gets old after you've done all the campaigns, since it isn't such a fresh experience as L4D1 was.
  4. Very nice. Hope you're enjoying it. Where are you most seeing the difference between the HDD and the SSD though? At start-up or while starting applications or what ever else? Benchmarks are cool, but real world situations are better. :P The price/performance ratio is starting to become a reality to people like me who would want to buy an SSD. So I'm still waiting for that sweet spot to open up. It's a good thing there's like a new line of SSD's almost every two weeks, lawl.
  5. Keyboard arrived. [hide=Pics] [/hide] Album (15 images): http://img685.images...g/dscn4917.jpg/
  6. I just got my new mousepad delivered today. It's a Razer Goliathus Speed Fragged Edition. It was $10 and I bought it for free shipping, and of course it just looks awesome. It's also the medium sized mat or the 'standard' size. [hide=Mousepad][/hide] *I already owned the Deathadder. My feet > yours. More pictures of the unboxing: http://img42.imagesh...g/dscn4855.jpg/ I'm also getting a new desk and a new keyboard shipped in the next weeks, so I'll probably post pics of all that when they come.
  7. A second 22" monitor, another 1.5TB drive and L4D2. The wait is a killer to be honest.
  8. I've got 14 invitations to hand out - [email protected] - if you want one, but please give be a reason to why you want it, don't want to waste them on people who won't enjoy it as much as others. I've been using Wave with one of my teams in one of the games I play. It's made a forum/website/file transfer sites...etc useless. All the organizing, practice times, layouts, and strats all done on Wave. +1 for Gamers. Also for a league I'm staff on, its made a lot of the projects we have to do become a much smoother online experience, as we don't have to chase down IM's, or wait on E-Mails. If I need something from this department/staff member, I make a wave and they'll know what's going on. +1 for Business. ------ With mods being made and coming out in the future, I can see Wave becoming the basis of an actual social networking site.

I've been to around three medium sized LANs (150 - 200 people), and then a whole bunch of smaller ones (20 - 45 people). I'm probably going to be attending this LAN though: http://www.lanpartye...ents/details/76 L4D survivor ftl.
  10. The only real reason is to be discussing things in the right terms and not speaking with metaphors or indirect terms to what you mean in the discussion. This is done by everyone so they don't get warned/banned by the mods in relevant topics like violence/drugs/sex/rock'n roll. This PG-13 sub-forum would provide the solution to not having to speak indirectly about things, but eventually it would just grow into a minor /b/ forum, where discussing in direct terms would not be the focus in posts. You can discuss pretty much every subject with conservative wording and if you can't then it really doesn't have a place on any real discussion forum, and probably belongs over at 4chan.
  11. I kind of enjoy escort missions as long as there isn't something that just drags the game play down. Bad AI, over the top difficulty (like having to try for 70 times until you get 'lucky' and make it)...etc, were really what plagued previous games. Nowadays it's pretty much a smooth flowing adventure.
  12. Sigh mass amounts of people need to start uploading it. >.>
  13. I'll wait for the modded MW2 that comes out on the torrents. That's probably going to hurt IW more than this.
  14. I haven't played in over a year, but from witnessing all of the updates that Jagex has done to improve the game, it is certainly tempting to come back and play. As some of these annoyances were some of the factors that made me stop playing. I didn't get why I was playing a game that was out-dated and didn't permit you do to things easier, when I had other options available. If the combat change they plan to do is as spectacular as they've made it seem, I'll be back for sure. Though there's still the issue about going back and updating, and putting new life in old content, so that it is either usable, or is more than just a faceless quest/mini-game/item (which they have done, but not to the extent players would want so that they could go back and relive it). Still they have done a lot and they deserve a big thanks.
  15. A ton of small updates. Pretty cool and useful for the most part.
  16. I'd decrease the transparency a bit and perhaps find a way to determine where to keep the transparency at 0% but at the adjusted level only where the in-game screen is. Or the ability to manually adjust the transparency. Good job though.
  17. It's when there's no noise, footsteps, grunts, or any other indicators that a tank has spawned. Then you proceed to turn a corner in or outside of a building, and in your face is a tank, with your flashlight squarely on their face as they do their little but frightening grunt that craps the pants out of anyone.
  18. That wasn't the point I was making in the first paragraph. Jagex had a strange attitude to Pures, with saying they weren't 'predicted' and 'unintended', and then later stated that we can enjoy the game how we want to. These statements caused a lot of hate on pures. The point in the first paragraph is that the community at large is going to be with or against whatever Jagex is against or with. I don't mind if Tip.It supports it or not, or bans it entirely, I'm just trying to point out the reasons to why it may not be a good thing to ban it because Jagex has stated it as unintended.
  19. I've had such terrible ninja tanks, like holy geez. That's happened to me like twenty bloody times on that awful map.
  20. There's five total SnD maps, with two in the beta development process over in K/J. Most competitive leagues only circulate through-out four or five, but yea, I do wish there was more, but it would take away from strategies and tactics created for each map. There's also a very limited need for mod capabilites with all of the options they give you. You can't edit the maps, damage or timers, but it's all pretty much what people would have modded to it anyways for competitive play. It's competitive friendly, even without mods. Forgot to mention that XPL/WOGL both have started their tournament/league, and WOGL should have a full on league by Christmas going for AVA. /Fanboy Video highlighting the UI located in the game, some of the skills, the ribbons, the medeals, and the weapons. Note this is a CLOSED beta video and does not have the guns we have in Open Beta. Youtube HD Video - This video will cause high CPU usage, to view the video in a lower quality, please click here.
  21. Yea, what really made me post it was the thumbnail preview thing that you can alternate between the main window and the thumbnail. It would be tremendously useful for any kind of calculator, media player, web browsing, writing in notepad...etc. And you can see if something is happening to your RS/SD game and such in the thumbnail. In my opinion this type of feature would set you apart from SK and actually create incentive to use this. The video transparency is rather pointless if you do it in the thumbnail preview kind of way though, but integrating it somewhere else might be something to consider.
  22. Digsby client. :) You should consider integrating some kind of video player that can pull videos from YouTube, Vimeo, Megavideo...etc, or play videos from a selected playlist from the computer. As well as integrate it in some way to favour AFK training, but not bending the rules regarding macros. For instance an automated system would have the video playing somewhere on the screen, while in the background through some transparency filter or whatever, you could see the game, or in a thumbnail preview you could see the game from the taskbar or from wherever. When you're about be logged out, the video player is set aside and then automatically you do any kind of key combination to keep you from logging out. This may be against the rules, because it is automated, without the user having to switch back except to do whatever AFK task, example: cut a tree again, click on the rock again...etc. Another variant is that at any interval the user enters, say 80 seconds, 100 seconds, a green/red button appears at this interval. The user must press this button in order for the StellarKit to do the key combination in-game, while still playing the video. This 'technically' isn't breaking the rules Jagex has, as you're manually doing the task, but more conveniently. Lastly the most legal option is to have some type of notification, whether it be the aforementioned button, popup window from the taskbar...etc, and then the user has to click to get back to their in-game screen, and then stop them from logging out. ------ The video could be an overlay over the in-game screen, and then have a mini thumbnail of the in-game screen beside or underneath the video. Either through a key bind or a mouse click on the thumbnail will replace the video with the thumbnail and the in-game screen with whatever game they're playing. Might be something to consider as this feature would honestly tempt me to use the software and afk train while watching any numerous amounts of videos I watch on Megavideo/YouTube. I don't know if it is possible, or too complex or time consuming to invest in. Also the overlay and thumbnail technique could be applied to skill calculators or viewing websites, or any other application. Still good luck.
  23. Pictures help in this situation or make sure you're on an administrator account/have admin rights.
  24. It depends on whether or not they're going to play casually, and pubstar or take a more competitive turn to it. Casually it's a fine game, but to everyone else it's bad. If they're just going to jump on for less than ten hours in a week, then it's fine to get the game in my opinion, as you'll be able to enjoy it fully, without much hindrance.
  25. Basically this: http://www.l4dmods.com/index.php?option=com_joomloads&view=package&Itemid=2&packageId=874 Or any of the other mods that try to get a 'classical zombie experience'. It's fun for awhile, but the fast paced action > the slow increase of panic as you realize that the zombies just keep coming and coming and coming.
