The totems of choice really depend on what you are after, and it seems there are quite a few combinations to go for(the useful ones being telescopes, cherry trees, parrots and jade statues). For general use i'd say 3x tree and one telescope/jade statue is best until you start going for scrolls only. The effect of jade statues seems hard to quantify, really.

Frosts now aggressive?
They are way harder than they used to be(i used to max around 220-230 bones an hour) and the introduction of QBD makes them pointless even as a steady income alternative. You can also easily KO yourself there.

I'm sorry to tell you this, but i somehow managed to get all pincers crew(except for oxheads ofcource, only got one of those) in less than 8 days. I don't even have a pincer crewman over t7 and i've already got 5 of each. All in all, pincers doesn't seem all that challenging as some people make it sound to be. Well, it might also be 4 lifeboats that give me the courage to send 50% ships on high resource voyages.

Likely it's same for magic and yes, it is worth using them with momentum to barrage things.

Has it been confirmed that FOTS stacks with merchants? so far, all i've heard is that it doesn't(so you'd get no effect with a merchant on board).

POP setup
You shouldn't gather any more than the 8k needed for 4th ship, and realistically, you should be close to it anyway so you'd get there while getting the 10k jade. As for the totems, those should be your last priority. They give truly negligible boosts and should only be upgraded if you have a large surplus of supplies.

POP ~ Storyline
All trio storylines are pincers ones, so you'd be better to stay there(atleast for the time of reset, anyway). And as gwyn said, just look up which one(if you've already completed one of the trios) you are missing and adjust your icons accordingly. You need 2 of the 3 to show up in your port for you to get a trio story, so it might also take a while(if you've already completed one trio you have a 25% chance assuming you always get 2 adventurers).

I can't say i'm not amused how this went down. Not on jagex'es terms. Not on his terms. But just the way it was always supposed to. Congrats anyway. Time to grow up now, though.

It is totally worth it(as thresholds bring in a very large part of your overall dps). And you'd also need it for dungeoneering.

An average kill with banking, looting and time between kills takes around 2 and a half minutes, bringing the total up to 24 kph, which at 250-300kper kill, is, surprisingly, 6-7m an hour.

Only QBD is one of the best solo moneymaking methods in game(up to 6-7m an hour with the method i'm using) and QCK has been giving me grief (http://forum.tip.it/...ps/page__st__20) for almost a week now. Besides, a challenge is a challenge. As for what pertains to the issue he tried to point to- i didn not stop the clock when qbd had no health, i stopped it when i first touched the last artifact, exactly when a kill is counted- xp shows up with a delay anyway, and his guy didn't stop the clock at all. I also used a physical clock which adds a bit of time when starting.

I'm not even going to comment on something this pathetic. Let everyone else be the judge(and it's not as though it matters anyway as the difference in time is atleast 4 seconds).

As for gear, i use berserker and cape for mage def and sword because it's 99% of a drygore off-hand. Obviosuly i could use max equipment for speed(and get like 1% more dps) but it doesn't matter that much. And yes, the last one does count as a kill- i got both xp and loot(and could obviously have clicked on food instead of timer). I might actually try to vid some for max speed, which could be like 1:30 or so.

Already uploading a 1:37 with no starting adrenaline no carapace and 1:48 with full range carapace(basically the worst luck of the draw). Will be done in like 3 hours nd will edit then...

I'll have a vid for you tomorrow when i can make one at work. I basically average that speed anyway. Also, mage carapace shouldn't count. Why should mage carapace not count? Cause you can't average that speed. I'd say only no carapace/range carapace should count. In any case, mage carapace makes a much smaller difference for average than range one does.

I have to say that i wholly agree on the lack of end game for pops. I can't even imagine what they were thinking. But yes, in general, instead of there being a general probability for trade good missions throughout a region, once you reach a certain point in pincers(say all ship upgrades and one steel port upgrade) a significant amount of normal steel missions should be replaced by trade good voyages. Short of doing that they just need to release pops v2 asap. Also, regarding current pops endgame, i'd warmly suggest anyone who is thinking of or has quit doing normal voyages to still consider them for chime purposes. In all likelihood chimes will still be a general currency even when we get more regions and jagex has already been considering adding 20k/50k/100k captains.

Crew just seems extremely random and the boosts for it seem not to make any significant difference. I haven't even got the 4% lodgings boost and i've rolled 4 harem 2 band 1 tiger 1 ox(well, 1 ox is given anyway) in less than 50 rerolls. That said, after i recklessly rerolled 2 jade merchants to get my 4 judges faster, i only managed to get the last 2 by the end of the bowl. And don't even talk to me about 10k captains...(only got one so far that i can keep for max crew).

Anyway, having been in the pincers region for a few days now, i'm kind of rethinking the strategy of getting the rudder first. Firstly, as pincers is the last region, failing missions means more- a failed mission now gets you nothing at all. Also, if you already have good 10k captains(level 6 plus) and judges, your dual and triple stat missions will already be max speed anyway, and single stat ones will be close to it. So what the rudder effectively does help you with is the long voyages only, but you usually only do 1-3 a day(and usually less at the start of pincers). Thus i'd actually say maxing crew is the first priority in the region, and then getting the rudder whenever you have enough steel left over. I've also, for whatever reason, been very lucky with pincers crew in general, getting 8 of the 18 members i need in the first 3 days. As for resource voyages, i'm fairly sure all higher resource voyages yield, on average, more resources, but this assumes you have lifeboats(i've only got 3/4 so far).
