  1. I think you are forgetting the wc xp- teaks are 85 and pine 140,2, meaning that you'd actually get more fm xp with teaks assuming same wc rates. Arctic logs for fm xp then ivy the rest of the wc xp? we are talking about 200m xp here, fm will only be trained with magic logs, useless to consider anything else.

I'm not saying SGS is, in all cases, significantly better. I'm saying there are certain benefits to both that really make it a matter of personal preference, and that neither is categorically better than the other. It's highly situational. You can use an overload timer. You didn't prove EEE is significantly better in most situations. Yes, it has its benefits which you mentioned, but so does SGS. Also, I would say rapier is about 80-90% accurate on supreme. SGS has a significantly higher slash bonus than rapier's stab bonus and has an accuracy boost for its spec. Therefore, it should be more accurate than rapier. FSH doesn't work for specials so no, it shouldn't be more accurate. Rapier is around 80% accurate. The EEE works well for overloads because it will heal most of the damage, just when needed, and it VERY reliable, which can't be said for SGS. But yeah, if you want your calculations to matter at all(which they really don't right now): Account for accuracy. Account for the free super defense. Account for reliability. Account for the added risk. Account for the fact that you lose 50m of flipping money(which is significant when you have under 500m). I might be forgetting something, but you are certainly forgetting alot of factors.

But overall, there is no significant advantage to either of those, and claws could actually be the best...so why bother? Yet again, tell me a place where SGS is significantly getter than EEE, because, as i said before, EEE is better for most situations, not to mention timing and healing overload damage(alot of people use the defense levels from EEE, so you really should consider that). Also, there is no way in hell that SGS is more than 90% accurate on supreme. NO WAY. assuming 100% accuracy is a significant mistake in the calculations.

not necessarily for supreme. SGS on supreme is useful in that it, depending on how fast you brew, or if you're using sharks, can save you an attack turn that you otherwise would have spent eating. this is what makes sgs's offense capabilities so unique: it's an accurate, powerful hit that also heals you. however, you need your opponent to have relatively low defense for this to work out reliably. that's what i meant. Errm, firstly, you'd still lose those attack turns on supreme instead of using rapier, let alone claws, or even dagger. Secondly, as you'd be using overloads, the infrequent healing would be immensely inferior to EEE which heals most of overload damage, when it is needed. Thirdly, the risk matters alot for DK's- SGS could be the difference of losing/keeping rapier, when EEE is never an issue. I'd still like you to tell us one place where SGS would be significantly better than EEE, particularly as there are quite a few where the opposite is true(particularly bosshunting with overloads). Depends: if you ovl around when you're killing supreme, SGS will be way better. If you ovl around when you're killing rex, you can SS and thus postpone your spec. Mainly when you ovl and are killing prime (which is rarely) or rex without SS, EEE is better. Also, if you don't bring a fury and use prot item, SGS won't protect over rapier. On a rough approximation: SGS is better for: supreme, bandos(?), TD's(?), slayer EEE is better for: arma, solo rex Though, claws or KS will probably be best for: Bandos, TD's If you don't bring a fury and use protect item, you'd lose some of your offensive force, just like when you have to do damage with an inferior(SGS) weapons instead of rapier. You haven't accounted for this. Just like accuracy. SGS is MUCH worse for DK's. MUCH. Just as it's worse for bandos, TD's and slayer, even though offensive specs would be better for those. Not to mention, when you aren't using overloads, you get a good boost for defense, which you don't with SGS. Face it, the unreliability of SGS is also a major factor, as well as having to be below 690 lp when speccing(which you also didn't account for).

  7. Woodcutting for money is simply not worth the time. He makes more money flipping for 5 minutes a day than he'll ever make with Woodcutting. Therefore, he cuts for the fastest possible xp since money is no issue. I don't think SUOMI flips. Unless he started, or just secretly has been, and still takes donations. :P I thought teaks were fastest wc xp. But I hate woodcutting so I don't really know. Maybe pines give better Fm/Wc experience with adze then teaks do. Isn't sawmill still fastest, and fastest by far? as far as i know, ivy is around 75k xp h, teaks up to 90k with dropping and sawmill 115k max.
  8. 47 prestige means that they complete all 47 floors in no particular order and use the reset button. You can't get 47 prestige unless you complete all the different floors. To get the most xp, you need to complete every floor you can and then reset, over and over again.
  9. Firstly, when maging or ranging, frost dragons do not do damage to you, which is why you'd never want to use blood barrage or soul split. Secondly, blood barrage is ridiculously expensive and hits lower than ice barrage. And thirdly, soul split uses much more prayer points than deflect curses, not to mention the damage deflection. Oh, and when he isn't getting too many kills now, mage would get much, much less.
  10. Rigour is quite an asset for frosties while Chaotic is only really useful for armadyl- hand cannon is better for TD's and rune crossbow is more efficient(the amount of kills is very unlikely to repay for recharge costs at TD's).
  11. 2.6k overloads are what, 40M slayer xp? Not waste them? are you kidding me, you'll never get trough them unless you do slayer. And well, the increase of overloads is actually higher than you might think- increased defense really helps out, while the increase in range level improves cannon performance, not to mention the added melee effectiveness. It's just seems strange that you are pretending to be rich and value your time quite highly, while not using that knowledge to it's full extent.
  12. Yeah, i've never really had a problem with points, on the contrary, i usually gain some over time(just like money). In any case, you really should use overloads(they are very much worth it for slayer).
  13. xpx replied to TheAncient's topic in Data and Research
The accuracy assumption is very much wrong, maybe 90% accuracy max, but not much more than that, rapier, on slayer task, on dark beasts, hits around 86% of the time. In any case, i haven't used a special weapon other than claws for years now, haven't even bothered to do any of the seers diarys, so maybe you should somehow try to compare them to claws/KS aswell.
  14. Don't do this(nothing against the advice, but he wants to make money).
  15. My personal list, while slaying for fast xp/effigies.
  16. How would anyone else but you know how much food you actually use? It's impossible to suggest this. In any case, as it already has been said, you should probably range.(no healing needed)
  17. Don't tell anyone you can't do anything. That's being stubborn and foolish. Getting 250M will take a bit of time, depending on your playing preferences. I would suggest anything that guarantees a decent moneymaker. Right now I've been doing Grenwalls and I get a steady 1M+ GP per hour. Of course that will take over 200 hours, and I'm not sure if you're willing to spend that much time doing so. You can try your luck on Tormented Demons and God Wars. Or, you could try flipping at the GE, although this requires a lot of patience to do well. Errm...frost dragons are the easiest(and easiest by a long mile) combat moneymaker there is, so realistically, he can't use combat to make money. With the lag he has, even grenwall profit would be about halved. So realistically, unless he can merchant(and he probably can't, hence why we have this topic), he can't really do much, if anything at all. Why not just bring food and do shorter trips then? Anyone who still uses guthan, and particularly with your combat stats, deserves to be called an idiot.
  18. You know a great thing about science? It isn't science unless it can't be proven wrong so... Get 120 DG. Get 4 other 120 dungeoneers to do c1 5:1's with you. Be as effective as you can be.... PROVE HIM WRONG(or right). BUT, don't just go and **** out of your mouth(it's actually his quote, rephrased though).

How sure are you in the 70:30 for magic defense? I mean, this assessment is very likely true in principle(although there might be small components added in melee/range defense aswell that we don't know about), but the number just seems to be thrown out there. I'd like to see the proof that it isn't, for example, 100% magic defense+ 50% defense level, adding to about the same proportions, but not being limited to just 100% total(of which there is no proof).
  20. I'm not going to go into detail, but killing without protect/deflect magic is pointless. SS drains more prayer points anyway. If you are getting the rings just for frost dragons, you'd have to go well above 200m xp in those skills to be justified.(i don't have them) Grimy, sorry for not answering yet, but i don't really have much information to give you. That chart was done using the DPS numbers from your calc, nothing to do with actual reality. I am not at all certain about the 1/1600 figure, i've only used it for around 10 hours(in which i lost 4 cannons). There isn't any information on it. I would consider adding some data on it if you got 99 fm before testing this(97 fm really isn't a level at which this should be tested). I'm currently not a member and am too busy in real life to deal with updating or improving the guide right now, but i'm here to answer questions if i can give a meaningful reply.

    quite obviously, no.

It's only really useful for dagonnoth prime as in all other cases, you kill alot of monsters before the same one respawns, so you'd be sacrificing damage on all the other monsters. For frost dragons, it's much better to have the cannon in the center of 4 spawns.
  23. Firstly, those aren't very conclusive results. Secondly, you'd lose ALOT of deflect mage. Thirdly, it is rumored that cannon accuracy is dependent on your highest attack bonus, whichever it is(range, mage, or any of the melee), so you shouldn't gain anything. Fourthly, gl surviving with dhide. Fifthly, i've tested both max range attack and void setups, void is better, even though the cannon does most damage.

Not going to happen keep venting. Yep its scientific fact just like: You're guaranteed dharok helm every 2.5 hours at barrows. Every 12 hours you get a visage from frost dragons or a godsword from godwars. 4mil/hr is guaranteed to think otherwise would be ignorant.  I like to read the comments posted below serious news articles at cnn.com. They are utter garbage. Nothing quite like reading an article on the chilean miners and then the comment at the bottom is: "Obama the socialist is paying for the rescue! $%^@ obama!" I still can't understand how ignorant the mods have to be to not consider your posts not to be personal attacks/flaming and not delete them because of that. In nowhere in that post did you represent any legit information or anything that would have any discussion value, forget about actually discussing anything. By the way, frost dragons are currently(and the prices are quite low right now) 3.2m an hour GUARANTEED.
  25. For low defense or kurdals dungeon monsters, claws are still quite significantly better. For higher defense monsters in non-multy, though, KS spec is better. For multy, the situation is even harder to assess. If you can't afford claws, it's pointless to get them just as a spec weapon when you have KS.
