Monday, July 14th - Three Cheers for Lumbridge!
These updates are amazing. Seems like Jagex is trying to increase their userbase for real now.

Lock please.
They just coded their website or game in a way that was only fully compatible with one browser, and can't be bothered to make it the same for IE as FF. They don't mean that IE's bad, just that they prefer Firefox.

Decided I want to give membership a go.
No, your membership items will not be lost. They will still be there but you cannot use them until you renew your membership. If you never plan to return to membership you can always sell them before your time runs out. Wait, did you say £11 for a month? Is that English pounds? That's a bit too much, I'm sure it costs £5 or so for a month. You could always add me in the game, since the time I first got my membership wasn't too long ago so I'd be glad to answer some of your questions that might pop up when you're new to members.

1UP reviews Runescape HD
People, reviewers in this case, usually only mention about graphics because it's the easiest thing to compare. Gameplay and more complex issues are normally only mentioned briefly because these reviewers haven't played the game (at all or enough) to say much about it. To be able to compare two games on a deeper level requires much more thinking and time, therefore people go on about the graphics.

Lock please
Is it the different gang member thing?

Skins
I liked the old one better too, the colors here aren't really fitting. I think they've settled for this look?

Dragon armour for f2p!
Hmmm, this is a difficult question. My answer would be no. I feel that dragon armour pieces are overpriced in the first place, the step up from Rune to Dragon isn't that significant despite the large cost difference. Rune armour pieces have been very low ever since GE came out, so upgrading to Dragon isn't worth it. F2Pers have other things to show off with, such as rares which have dropped quite a lot.

Old times were fun..but new?
It definitely was much more fun before than compared to now when it comes to different achievements. Back then everything was new and it felt as if the whole Runescape world was unexplored. I remember venturing in the wilderness for the first few times and it was really exciting and thrilling. I don't get the same feeling today, because I have experience and there are many more players who have achieved whatever you have. Or it could've been because I was younger before and saw things from different angles.

Runescape to become mature?
This immature thing could also have to do with time, now in 2008, more and more younger players have access to the internet. Back in 2001 - 2002 Internet wasn't used as much as today by these younger kids. At least that's how I experienced it.

Atk or Def
Na, at least not for BH related matters. You wouldn't want to risk losing a GS in the BH, but using them outside of it can be useful at times.

Another firecape thread..
I'm going to attempt this soon too, but using only 67 ranged (yeah I know, but I can't be bothered to get it to 70). So I wish the both of us good luck You do gain experience in the Fight Caves, right? Around how much ranged experience will you gain from completing it? Are we talking about 50k?

Account Sharing: Jagex, Players, Yes or No? Kinda Bad?
They formulated it in a bad way. They're just basically threatening you to not do so. I'm sure that several rules have been enforce not for the reasons that Jagex has given, but for some other reasons which would benefit Jagex and their success with the game. Jagex won't find out either if it's a one time account sharing, like a friend coming over.
-
Account Sharing: Jagex, Players, Yes or No? Kinda Bad?
You have some good arguments, but Jagex thought of it from the getting more money perspective. If you and your mate shares a member account, then, instead of having two paying members only one is a member. Same goes with trading items over from accounts, or buying and selling accounts, because Jagex doesn't get any money out of it. If you traded cash over to another account or sold yours, the receiver or customer wouldn't have had to play members for, say five months. But on the other hand it could be a good thing, because if your friend tests members by account sharing they might like it and sign up themselves. But the account stealing possibility plays in the most in my opinion.

Thieving: Faster When Walking?
Woah, that makes a lot of sense. The hit ratio of your attacks on other players or monsters must be something like that too, except that your weapon bonus and your opponent's armour bonus of the same type are also taken into consideration. Gloves of Silence would either add a certain number to your thieving level, or decrease the random number span when the game picks a random number to determine if you fail or not when pickpocketing.

F2P Under-informed about that they can vote in the GC Poll?
Yes, it should be the message of the week or something similar. Not sure how free players' votes would affect the poll though.
-
Clue Scroll locations?
Yes, this should be intentional. Though could've been a coincidence as well. In order to diversify the clue scroll locations they have to take advantage of as many places as possible. It was annoying for me too when I did a level 3 clue scroll before and after having done the first 3 or 4 objectives I had to fail the last because it was a place that required lots of quests (the southern area on this island).

9 July 2008 - Jagex Store and RuneScape Novel
I won't buy it, but I can sure that it will be a good read for those who play Runescape and the plot itself already sounds interesting. But I wonder if this is written so that non Runescape players will be able to enjoy the book as much as regular players? In other words, is it a standalone book?

Jagex calls WoW players to play RS? ~picy for proof
They're using low and uncool ways of advertising, often used by smaller companies or websites. There's nothing wrong with it and it's a good way to attract more people, but I'm skeptical about Jagex doing something like this. It makes them lose the professional status. But let's take a look at how the other games, WoW advertise their game and what tags they use? Maybe they use the same strategy.

Jagex calls WoW players to play RS? ~picy for proof
Yes, but not mainly for getting WoW players into RS, it's more of an advertising scheme. That's how quite a few people advertise on YouTube and other places. Also, some other games advertise not by their own name but by something like "play similar *insert popular game*". Didn't know Jagex would so something like this, it's like admitting that they have less users than WoW.

what level to be to attempt the feud?
I'd say level 50 should do it, something lower than that is fully possible too. As long as you bring food you should be safe. You could always run away or teleport if you're in danger. Do you have rune full now?

Rare Items - A Hope
I agree with you pootan, even though I own two rares (not party hats) myself. The rise in price of these rares before were unfair in the first place, and the price they're currently going at is more fair. I don't see party hats giving you an ego boost, I've never considered them good looking or cool. New players probably don't judge after the price and it's highly possible that they don't know how much they're worth. There are many other cheaper wearables that will impress these new players more in my opinion, such as the Dragonfire Shield, different weapons and so on...

"A new age is coming"
The New Age is probably just referring to the HD graphics, I don't think there's anything else that they class as a new age.

Eeep...
You do not have to do the Scorpion Catcher quest, but you have to do the Barcrawl from the barbarian dude. It involves visiting some of the hottest bars on RS for a super drink. The Barcrawl is needed in the Scorpion Catcher, so that's why.

training mining
Hmm, I see that you're a member. Do you have access to Lunar spells? For Iron, there's the place close to Ardounge. Al Kharid mine has a nice spot too. But since you're a member, fastest would be to power mine granite instead in the desert.

Eeep...
Don't worry, I think I know what's wrong. Have you done the Scorpion Catcher? You'll encounter Gunnjorn in that quest and you'll have to finish a task from him. You should get the key from him when you've done the Gunnjorn part in the Scorpion Catcher quest.
