Really hard to say. But if this new GE cuts down the time to sell stuff, then people might be spending the lost time slaying monsters for those upper-end luxury items (except rares). And that'll make the prices drop a bit. But since buying should be easier with GE out, there might be some rich dudes inflating big time by buying all the rares or other stuff up to sell them at a higher price. Not sure if this is common on Runescape, but I've seen on other games with very rich players teaming with other people to buy up all the items on the market. But don't take me too seriously, I've never been a member so I really don't know how hard these luxurious are obtained and how things roll there.

But I gotta tell you, this is absolutely not your fault Mauranius. Neither was it Jagex's fault taking action against you. It was Jagex's carelessness when it comes to the rule system. They have many seperate pages for rules, one accessible for normal players and the rest accessible for player moderators, the other one being in much more detail. So this rant brings forward the fact that Jagex has very unclear rules in general, and I checked the public rule 5 page. It hardly says anything at all. So if you do plan to appeal again, write that the page with rule 5 doesn't include anything about friends or yourself on a different account being a player moderator or staff.

Why they took action against you was because you said that you had no moderator friends online. That counts as staff impersonation; no matter if you really do have moderator friends, it still counts as staff impersonation. So even if I went on a side account and said that my main was a player moderator, I could still be busted if someone reported me for rule 5. So Jagex was right there. But I don't blame you for this, Jagex has a poor rule 5 explanation for people. It doesn't include anything about the friends part. On the other hand, shape up man, it's only 3 days. If you hate being muted, play some other game or do something else for 3 days. It'll be over in no time.

I got stories with the sandwich lady. I'm not familiar with the names of all sandwiches, so I picked wrong one or two times. Yeah, so that random event is slightly unfair for those that aren't good with their English or bread names. I remember some other random event that was hard, I think it's the one where you are given a series of items, and then have to pick what comes next out of 16 images below. Pretty hard to see the images since they're colored all the same and spinning all the time. Otherwise some of the rewards are great.

When selling loads of stuff, have a google search window open and run your calculations there.

Hot interview, and I liked the 40 hours a week part. It was a straight and honest answer, unlike some others who give unclear answers trying to avoid the truth (not trying to offend those in any shape or form). I wish I could hook up players like that for an interview...

There won't be a problem getting people in, but you can say that getting a good rank has become harder and harder. If I'm not mistaken, getting 99 in a skill could even land you on 1000+ or 10000+ (roughly, I haven't checked this exactly). But there's not much that they can do, except remove inactive accounts from the highscore and return them when they do become active again. Another thing which has some similarity are the usernames. I think Jagex should increase the number of maximum characters from 12 (I think?) to 14 or something just so newer players can pick at least half decent names that they like.

Nah there's nothing to worry about, and we can always give these younger immature players a chance. They will in the long run grow up, like we did before. I've never really been affected by their presence, even though they're more noticeable nowadays. Easy PKing keeps the regular PKers doing their thing; the more easier to kill the more they'll be out there preying on people. And both sides have access to these powerful weapons so it's still fair, although as you said the battles are rediculously easy and stats don't matter as much since the KO can come so easily. The game will survive, even though it's possible that some people around us today won't be playing in 10 years. New people will always come in and play the game, so there's no worries when it comes to losing the game. And we should do something about the "decaying" community instead of mentioning or complaining about it. After all, we're all a part of the wonderful community Runescape has brought us.

If someone asks for quest help or others, and you refer to a fansite, you won't be punished as long as it's a well-known fansite such as tip.it Otherwise all urls aren't allowed. And I do agree that the rules aren't clear enough... Besides keeping players safe, I have a wild guess that a side benefit is that Jagex wants to keep people on Runescape and not lose them to other games. And since you cannot advertise another game, there it is.

They probably mean that Runescape might not be an attractive game in the future, it's theme wouldn't hold. And something of a science-fiction game would do better in the market of online RPGs. I personally don't want to speculate about anything. But if Runescape has so many players, why would it hurt to work on a new project and new game?

Once in a while we've all experienced sending a private message to a wrong person, a person who wasn't intended to receive the message. And sometimes we send over something which might be embarrassing for ourselves. Could be something personal, or something that might be understood in the wrong way :anxious: Have you guys experienced anything like this? Most embarrassing wp message from me had to be when I hooked up a scammer and I was taking screenshots for a story. And then I accidentally PMed the scammer himself saying "Lol I got this scammer on the line", a message which was intended for someone else on my friend's list. Yeah, tough break #-o And once someone WPed me saying: "Lobsters taste better when you kill them first". What does that really mean?

Maybe that's the way it is on the boards. I don't know, I haven't seen so much blaming in action and personally don't have anyone particular to blame.

The one I got is cool, but if I was given the opportunity to change I would probably be named after some ancient god / hero / legend or a character in a movie, such as Achilleus, Hercules, Legolas...

Nice stuff going on, but you have a long journey ahead since you're starting from scratch. Might I suggest putting lowering the goals a bit? Aim for 70 first, then 99; 99 just seems a bit too far away to reach it in one go. You're almost starting from scratch I see :-k
