  1. 85 slayer is not that great. I've personally made a LOT more from other tasks(spirit mages are a better goal if you're looking for cash). I'm definately an advocate of staying with slayer, but in all honesty it won't make you that much until you hit around the level for spectres and such. I remmeber a lot of the lower leveled tasks droppign a lot of noted ess and herbs during burthorpes back before Smoking Kills, though.
  2. On second thougth I'm not going to say what I thought to say when I saw that post... The above quote is simply... WRONG Godswords are not for training, they are for dealing out damage against stronger monsters. In any situation where you are trying to do damage, a whip and dfs or defender would be better than a sara sword, so that comparison is completely useless. You may or may not have noticed that several people buy BOTH because they are the best items for their specialized uses. I've got a personal problem with using a fury, what with the no teleport havingness and greater possible loss on death, but even so, it's never a good idea to spend all of your money. I would suggest that you use a scimitar until you can afford a ss and have at least 2m left over to cover unforseen costs.
  3. It's actually small ninja and medium ninja. You can get the small version fromt he bones of any ninja on the stands(you can just melee them and pick up the bones manually). The bigger ninja in the middle dual-wielding scimitars drops the bones for the medium version.
  4. It's only +10 total range bonus over dhide/karils if I remember right.
  5. I'm pretty sure that you can't wear proselyte without doign the quest...I know that you can wear white armour without having the proper number of black knights killed, though.
  6. Scroll through Jard Y Dooku's monster examine guide. It's accurate for all of the decent fighters up to level 89 at least, I wouldn't know beyond that. I'm pretty sure that the KB tells you the max hits for scroll and left click attacks.
  7. They do have a low overall charm drop rate, but the percentage that are blue of the few that they drop is usually pretty high.
  8. Verac helm, use a plate or skirt as your arma item. Terror bird AND bunyip. Read through what I posted.
  9. I did not notice any noticable difference. They drop a relatively large amount of blue charms, by the way.
  10. Which I never do. Thank you, guys, for your answers. I suppose that that's a no for changing my setup. Any knowledge on the specifics of the tools to add?
  11. Sent this to someone else a while ago... Sub in what you need to fit within the budget, and I forgot to check your summoning level... EDIT: The above setup(That's Soma's, right?) is decent, I suppose, but it seriously downplays magic defense, and the VAST majority of the damage that you take comes from Kree's blue magic whirlwinds, not sure why they would prioritize melee defense so much...
  12. Ok I see what you're saying. In LS, the most recent kill goes to the person in your team with the lowest kill count. I'm not sure how the first person to get the kill is chosen when everyone has the same kc, though. For example, a team of five kills kree, so 1 person gets a kill added, then you kill the 3 minions, and 3 more teammates get a kill added. The fifth teammate has 1 less kill than everyone else, so on the next kree kill, they get the kill added. Kc has nothing whatsoever to do with the drop distribution as far as I know.
  13. I've gotten a few points stocked up now(this game really is rather fun), but still wondering about the specifics of the clay armour. Also, and advice concerning the tools would be appreciated.
  14. How can they both be on? Coinshare is just an option, the thing that you activate/deactivate is still lootshare. Are you saying that you got 2 out of 12 boss drops? I'm assuming that your team had 3 or four other people in it(based off your signature), so they would have gotten around 3 drops each...I don't see the problem here. Ls IS randomized, by the way.
  15. The possibility o getting double the normal combat experience while training seems very appealing, and I, as a person who has still never played this new minigame, was wondering if it would be worthwhile to sub out some of my standard equipment for this clay stuff. From Tip.it's guide I'm getting that there are clay helmets, scimitars, plates, and legs. the scimitar and helmet are obviously out of the question, but I've ehard that you only need 1 part of the set for the double xp, and that you get an extended time of use for having extra pieces. How exactly does this armour's effect "degrade?" How long would I be able to get the double xp with just the plate or just the legs? How much more would I get with both? Is a bandos plate+tassets or plate+sc legs or sc plate+tassets or sc plate+sc legs combination best? How much of an effect does the decrease in defense have? I'm told that it has similar bonuses to that of rune. Any info would be appreciated. EDIT: Also, do you get double experience from your familiar's damage as well?
  16. I bet that it would work, but it would most likely not be as efficient as switching weapons, less hassle and less supply cost though. Someone should try that...
  17. Not meaning to be rude, but this is one of those obviously opionion-based things that common sense is for. If you have to ask whether or not it is spam, it is spam. That is, unless you're an idiot who asks useless questions. The above comment is not an insult, by the way. That was just meant to preempt any smart "cabbages".
  18. This is a blatantly freaking obvious problem that I am extremely disappointed that Jagex did not see. The MOMENT that I read that you get a free piece from completing the quest, I said that the prices of the pieces would die, but I foolishly hoped that the plate price would somehow manage to survive...silly Jagexes...
  19. Wasn't your original point that praying there was overkill? Guess that I misunderstood something along the line but whatever, I don't have much interest in camping there anyways.
  20. Sara swords have +2 or 3 to pray if I remember right, so that would hep out with the banking issue a bit, and prices seem to have settled a bit for now.
  21. I don't know about other people, but praying is overkill for higher levels. I was wearing Barrows and offensive gear with prayer bonuses coming from SGs and a trimmed skillcape, the Zamorak warriors barely hit. If the Mages themselves don't hit hard then it is probably a good idea to use karils top and verac skirt. I brought a Geyser Titan with me as well, it rips through the mages defence. ;) By "Barrows" do you mean karils? I usually think of the melee sets when people referr to them in that way...
  22. I just went in for my first solo trip today(and brought pony scrolls but forgot a pouch :wall: ), and they seemed ridiculously easy to kill considering that I had no experience whatsoever. I personally got 3 kills with an inventory of sharks and whacking the damn thing with darklight for about 5 minutes before I realized the noob was praying... If they were easier to kill than they are now, then it is a very, very, good thing that they made a change. Also, what's the point of not safespotting them while you're ranging? Just saves you from switching to melee pray as much...
  23. Kill spectres if you're going to hunt for your own herbs. I'd suggest super energies or strength potions for the training(not sure if prices jumped, probably did), and you only need 64(or 63 with matured) to start the quest. Might as well dump your penguin xp into herblore as well.
  24. Wow that's a slap in the face to a few people, but full of hilarity all around. Is there some rule against quoting rsof? If not...
