  1. Although I don't have any 99's, I have gotten quite a few rares (over 20 santas, then White Hat, 3rd Range) It feels really good for the first hour, and then still pretty good while youre wearing it. Esp, if you put in a lot of time into it, or if it's something you value personally. I like my dark red wizard hat more than my santa :) Going for 99 Untrimmed Hits, will take me 500+ hours
  2. That's not super rich. I can afford Melee + Mage
  3. AHAAHAH That made me laugh irl :) Don't do it, it's stupid. Even 99 Fle is useless. Go do something meaningful like sleep.
  4. Dharok the Berserker Ahrim the Shadow Guthan the Indomitable Torag the Thickset Verac the Pure Karil the Agile
  5. I can hit 70 at 106 combat. Maybe more... Dharok is mad :)
  6. It's even harder to justify using firefox to switch worlds - which actually is comparable to Jagex's current system. But now it seems like even firefox could be seen as an illegal world switcher, after all it does bypass the worlds page under certain settings. :(
  7. Party hats make you different. They are indeed power symbols - someone calls you a noob, take out your hat. I own a white and a santa. I love them.
  8. The kid above me is crazy. 100 attack >> 70 attack DScim because of speed. The two are very similar aside from speed, speed is only factor.
  9. It's been done. Some level 121 or so has one. It's not hard at all. I was in fact planning to do it. My current stats are 86 Attack... 4M xp 84 Defense... 3M xp 87 Strength... 4.2M xp So if i train all of those to 95 (~9M xp), that's roughly 16M total xp to train. Via combat, you get 1/3 of the xp, meaning ~5M hits xp. If I train my mage to 95 from 81 right now, that's another 7M xp. With mage, however, you get 2/3 of the damage you deal (assuming you train with ancients). That's 14/3 = 5M xp. I'm not even counting range. My current HP is at 4.2M. We already have 14.2M...
  10. Very interesting, I have never seen those numbers based on such large amount of dragons, thanks for posting :) I've killed a lot of mainly iron dragons myself, but always was too lazy to keep a log. Is that for either item or for both legs and skirt? Ring of Wealth used? That's real important, RoW almost doubles the chances for the legs/skirt drop, and if youre talking about 1 item again thats another doubling. So if you do both, thats 4x the chances... and 1/75 for an item from Iron ain't bad at all :)
  11. Firefox can bypass the servers page. So technically FF counts as a 3rd party client... There goes 30% of RS :)
  12. WHATTT :notalk: That's pretty disappointing... right when I start looking into it as a serious moneymaker they nerf it..? Maybe you've just been unlucky. Are those with or without Wealth?
  13. Does anyone know the drop percentage of Dragon items for the Metal Dragons? Bronze: D Legs: D Skirt: D Med: D Half: Iron: D Legs: D Skirt: D Med: D Half: Steel: D Legs: D Skirt: D Med: D Half: Thanks :)
  14. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinchilla Too bad they don't explode.
  15. 1) Do you exercise and have a social life? 2) What will you do when RS is over?
  16. The strength thing makes a lot of sense. When they hit a 45 (which is impossible because they have like 70 attack against a full Torag 90 defense..) they feel really satisfied. High defense people like to play on high strength's arrogance. I find people that wear 99 Untrimmed Fletching capes and Quest Capes (other than for the fact that it matches with an outfit) are people who are motivated by status symbols, but are too incompetent to actually achieve anything meaningful, or are at least very impractical thinkers. Same goes to 99 Untrimmed Cooking but to a lesser extent. 99 Prayer people are either 1) 126's. 2) People who are horrible with their money and economic trends 3) an owner of white or yellow hat. I greatly respect 99 Slayers. High rangers enjoy efficiency - that's what range is. It's cheap, sometimes very effective, and versatile. People that wear DChains are usually quite intellectually mature, or at least aren't as dumb as 90% of RS population. People that wear only one rare (just one party hat) usually are quite self-centered and hard to talk to. They're usually 115-126. Many people who wear furies are smart/capable, but are extremely annoying to deal with. Me included, but I sell it off quite often to buy it back later. I find it funny that you can tell if someone is a noob just by their armor - even if it is moderately expensive armor. For example, DMed, DLegs, Rune Plate people.
  17. It's not as if there has been a huge rise in staking. Staking is not the reason why Ranger sets have [bleep]ed, albeit it does play a role in keeping the prices high. The main reason why Ranger set demand has sparked is because of insecurity over rares (which I find is ridiculous.*). Merchants are selling off their rares because of their lower demand (reasons are too complicated/numerous to explain), and need to find another item to manipulate. Since Rangers don't come into the system easily (there aren't THAT many TT farmers), their supply is relatively low and thus their demand and price are manipulatable. This [bleep]e will quickly decrease as more and more people flood into TT farming. Unless Jagex gradually lower the drop rates for these items - which is a really risky move - they will drop due to increased supply. (I'd really hate Jagex for doing that... I don't like Jagex messing around with the econ...). In this case the March BTS statement might actually have some motivation... #-o *Tangent - over the next year 99 capes will seem almost everyday. People will be finishing up the final "hard" 99s, such as Farming and Prayer. People can say that the demand for these "hard" 99s will increase dramatically as more and more people try to get it. You also have to take in consideration that many of the mass laborers will shift their attention, and their pay is capped at ~500K an hour (anything higher would be skilled labor... and 90% of RS is too stupid to DK, stake, merch). Due to the dramatically increased labor into these markets, they'll eventually become relatively stable as well. The desirabilty of rares will probably come back, albeit to a lesser level. And from there we still have growth.
  18. Which one would you rather have, and why? I am considering getting one of them but not both. I am currently 79 Mage (20K til 80) 75 Range (15K til 76) More importantly, WHY?
  19. Zammy chaps ftw :) I'm a late bloomer when it comes to TT
  20. There are 3 main magic spells that can be used for high-end maging: God spells, Ice spells, Slayer dart. For range, there are: CBow, Karil XBow, Sallies, Darts/Knives, Poisoned Rune Arrows w/ Spec, Rune XBow w/ DStone or Ruby...
  21. Mage is pretty easily owned by Karil. Mage maxes out at 30. Mage is mad expensive. Mage armor is mad expensive. Range maxes out near 45. Range has sick attack values, sometimes able to hit through melee defense. Range is cheap. Range has one of the quickest attacks - darts/knives. Think DDS spec without your spec bar. Range armor is cheap, with its Barrows set basically the same as some Mystic sets. // The only reason I like mage is because of its special effects, like Vengeance and healing using Blood spells.
  22. I'm surprised this post made it to 2 pages. Another tip: click once on one item, then twice on the other. It saves the time, because you've got the other item selected already and ready for use.
  23. Finally, someone smart. That's why you train against low defense monsters, wearing MELEE armor. People are just too dull to know how the armor system works. You only need over +100 range attack when you're facing things like KQ
  24. Through my experience, I've found merching extremely unpredictable and generally unprofitable. Maybe it's my lack of skill, but when I can make 600-700K an hour easily with other tasks, I'd rather not risk my money and rares with a silly little thing like merching. All "Merching OMG ftw!!" hype are those noobs who read about R2 making billions - but you've got to be amazing to do that. And quite frankly, most people aren't going to have intelligence like that of R2, Duke, etc.
  25. Yesterday I set up a cannon in the middle of my town street to kill some dogs. I got 10K slay xp FTW. I also gained 20 levels theiving out of the prison I was sent to. Orlando Bloom is most def. a RS-RL connection. When he wears a cape and ranger boots and an elven bow all the girls follow him.
