  1. It takes guts to post something as long as this, knowing you'll get totally bull as responses. I commend you. =D> Realistically, though, RS is a kid's game, and it will never cease to be immature/hurtful. What you are calling for is something that requires a fundamental philosophical change in society, and you need much more firepower to do that. With that said, you're still right. Things like this are collective, and individuals do eventually make a difference.
  2. On the other hand, people usually wouldn't think of the last stake as a "320M" stake; they only feel like they've invested 10M. This reduces the scary "Omg I'm staking all my cash!" feeling that scares away many from the duel arena. Sure, in effect, the last round is the same as staking 320M, but it doesn't feel that serious. none of you think hard enough. you can probably make it so the profit gets shared. if 64 people invest 1mil each. the winner of the tournament gets 32mil 2nd place gets 16mil 3rd gets 8mil etc I thought that too, but I think in the tidbit on the front page for that BTS it said that it was winner take all

  4. It's staking for the common man. Risk little, gain much. Like you guys said, you only have to put down 100K, affordable for anyone, and if you win you can get 6M+. I'll probably be an active tourney player :D By the way, I'm thinking it'll be 6 fights, not 64. 2^6 = 64
  5. I could be wrong but I think there is *already* a surplus of most potions with sara brews, super restore and prayer pots as the only exceptions, imho. If tournaments become hugely popular though it could help as no doubt players will be using supers, range and mage pots to get an edge. :P Yeah, that's probably true... but regarding tournaments I don't think it'll have that dramatic an effect. One thing that worries me is that now attack potions will sell fluidly around 200 each (guam price), a price reasonable for even the lower levels. This scares me, it'll means slight combat level inflation :uhh: (Lower levels become more powerful)
  6. I got a totally incorrect muting and blackmark today.. first one :\ I appealed reasonably but they just gave me a botted response :-# On the plus side, 98/99 for untrimmed hits cape 8-); so far 99% non-PC'ed (Cookies to the person who figures out what I did :P)
  7. I agree that potions might fall due to the GE, but I see it due to another reason. Currently, herblore is a difficult skill because it is hard to accumulate herbs, or expensive to buy accumulated herbs from a merchant. GE gets rid of this, making buying mass herbs much easier. In other words, herblore is now a much more "buyable" skill. The problem, however, is that now you have herblorists who have processed thousands of herbs, and as a result have many useless or unusable potions. Most likely, this mass of unusable potions would be sold in the GE - more supply. And more supply means a rightward shift in supply curve means lower prices. In sum, GE will likely cause more herb buyers and thus higher herb price, while increasing potion sellers and thus lower potion price.
  8. Nice SNES :D Homework ;), or AIM. This should be in Questionnaires.
  9. Consider this... a lot of this "China" blame is government propaganda. All this blame put on China for toy recalls and poor manufacturing is a way of selling "CHINA IS BAD" to the American public. In truth, and the rest of the world will agree, China is a rising superpower and threat to the US. For those of you talking about "outsourcing"... that's just the government's deceptive word for "capitalistic competition." China just produces things cheaper and faster than us, that's not 'cheating.' As for jobs, blame India - many telemarketers and IT guys actually reside in India. THAT is outsourcing. Most of you are referring to the TRADE DEFICIT. The trade deficit is the fact that the US is too lazy to make its goods and instead buys them from the rest of the world. That's no one's fault but the US's. With that said, many Chinese ARE poor. And, it's sad that they have to resort to hacking gaming accounts for cash  I am from the US.
  10. Fantastic, my man =D> I will personally be looking forward to fast 92 magic thanks to the GE :), or fast 90 Range, pending if I get a GS or not.
  11. 96 Range, 96 Magic, SGS or Full 3A
  12. I voted Guards (to make them look uniform across the cities) and Lanthus. I think it's just that noobs don't know who Lanthus is, but I see him all the time (Duelings ftw) so I <3 him.
  13. Did it say that Jagex doesn't advertise? It said something along the lines of 'we use word of mouth' What about miniclip =;
  14. Since when did Imps drop bloods at a ratio of 2Imp:1Blood? :P I screenshotted a glitch with Guthans, but my PS isn't cooperating #-o Basically, the damage splat flies up along with the ghostly things when spec is activated. So the picture is of a random damage splat in midair, surrounded by the purple ghost things.
  15. I think with the advent of the GE, shark prices are bound to fall. Because the GE would probably allow for the distribution of unfinished foods (such as unfinished curries, or tuna potatoes), GE could lead to more substitutes for sharks. Also, mantas and turtles are probably going to become more popular (albeit expensive) due to the GE; they will be more easily traded. A strawberry market (Basket heals 30) might also develop due to the GE (I'm estimating they'll be traded for around 1K a basket, since 1 seed is typically 1K and I know 3 seeds usually yields a few baskets). Sharks are bound to fall anyway, with SBrews approaching 2K ea.
  16. What does GE have anything to do with inflation? It's not taking or putting in cash into the game, assuming there is no tax. Someone with no RS gp will not be buying up large when the GE opens. Those with spare gp will though. Many bargains will be had on opening day, be sure of it. Yes people will sell 1gp lower than the rest to get fast cash, but again this is unlikely to cause mass panic in all markets. I sell raw materials, primarily coal. Coal is a staple of the game, and has not altered in price much for years. I highly doubt if GE will affect coal prices negatively, if anything it will show the true supply/demand equilibrium of such products causing some to rise in the short term. Please explain how the location of where someone sells their goods (apparantly the bank) determines how lazy they are. Coal prices might change, because there is a LOT of coal in the market. Perhaps people don't realize this yet, which is why it still sells around 18-200 ea. Or, the people doing hardcore smithing can afford to pay extra. With MTK, Coal should be in the 140-170 range and I expect GE to bring about that change.
  17. True. My 96 def allows me to get away with wearing Proselyte/Verac combo against Bandos (yes, even when tanking). With my team of 4, I usually get away with only being hit 0-2 times while tanking. On the other hand, a person on my team is 99/45/99/99, 106 combat, and only gets hit 3-4 times while tanking. True, defense isn't worth it in the ratio of combat:fighting power. However, it is definitely useful, and shouldn't be neglected.
  18. Ego_scorpion, chill :D Jagex would never implement something in the game that would immediately destroy the game economy. They plan things for months in advance, and they are a professional company. I would hardly think that the millions Andrew and Paul invest in their employees and game development would not have considered what you said. Surely they make mistakes, but they don't make blunders THAT egregious. One thing that Jagex might implement is limiting the amount of money you can pass through the GE per week or per day. This would solve the problem you described. In addition, the "backbone" of the economy wouldn't crash if this cash limit was below the value of certain rares. With that said, you do have some valid points, and they will certainly come into play. Probably just not that dramatic.
  19. Did anyone just get this glitch? I tried to log in, but it said my account was logged in. At first I thought I was hacked, but when I finally logged in, my account was at Barrows with 3 food, where I was 1 hour ago. (I was at cw or something last time I logged out) Odd? Lucky me, though, I got to re-claim my reward and got Half-Key + 100 Bloods, instead of 900 minds the first time around. It happened just a few minutes ago.
  20. How hard does the mask hit? Sorry, don't mean to be snarky, but I never understand people who won't buy fun and useful items like the GS because it's "too expensive" but they *will* spend 30m+ on something completely useless... dont understand investments? sorry to be honest. Masks are hardly investments these days, they're more show-off items.
  21. I tested one at 117 Cb. Unless you have extra cash laying around, it is NOT worth buying. It is inconsistent and limited in too many aspects to be the whip-destroyer that everyone thinks it is. In fact, at 117 Cb, I was defeated by a lvl 108 Dharoker (twice out of three times) and a lvl 95 Range tanker (once out of four), using BGS. Read up qeltar's guide on GS's. It is very thorough. Prices will NOT soar on BGS or ZGS. There are too many GWD'ers, and really is not worth that much. I personally am using my GS cash to invest in 92 Range. I am considering buying a GS in the distant future, after I get some spare cash with GWD. I would suggest using your cash for a complete Barrows set, or buying range/mage levels, or 70 prayer.
  22. Yes, Jagex wants to keep rares expensive because it keeps high-levels playing.
  23. Nether, go for whip or godsword. Neither, go for Rune Crossbow. I'm actually rethinking my answer. I've been noticing a lot of my hally specs miss.
  24. Lmao, that's a publishable horror story.
  25. I just tested it, yes, the whip drops.
