Thank you! I have been reserving this method for training mage, and wanted to know the xp rate and xp/gp ratio, but haven't had time or cash to investigate. Now, finally, I know! I was scared it would be THAT expensive, though. The lunar technique is ~120K xp/hr, costing roughly 700K an hour (theoretical). That may be a better alternative.

:lol: As far as I'm concerned, and as far as the other players are concerned, "noobness" is defined by low levels and wealth. Seriously. It's okay to admit that you're a noob, it's not a cardinal sin. Just don't pretend not to be, because we can all smell fakers.

SOMEONE TELL ME HOW SARA BOSS IS SOLOABLE! At 126 I've tried both Full Verac and Verac + BGS with Protect Mage/Piety. Both times, I ran out of sharks and had to tele when she was at half health. This is the one thing stopping me from being able to say "I soloed all 4 God Wars bosses." Use sara brews and run around while trying to range her? Just a guess. Also, if ancients works, then she shouldn't be a big problem. Anyway, on topic: Does this mean teams are going to be made for Zam? If this is the case, we might actually see more hilts because teams can camp there longer than soloers.

In addition, 200Mxp is a cap in itself. It is the 2.1B figure cut down by one decimal point and rounded (this has been confirmed by a Jagex mod) due to Java limitations. So I guess that means we aren't going higher than 126 levels. Look up popular topics in RSOF, there are a lot of interesting things there.

The LS system was a failed* attempt to incorporate clan support. That's it. It wasn't aimed to help noobs; it's not as if a level 50 can go into the Bandos chamber and get a hilt. As for Assistance, it was meant to be a relatively small update for friends and the occasional noob asking for help. It got totally blown out of proportion, in a miscalculation on Jagex's part. RS is not going to the noobs. We high levels just like to complain a lot. The game is much fun as it is. *Failed because it is easily manipulated by people who understand how it works, failed because it is not a fair distribution system.

I think it's more fair that way. Assuming hilt drop is 1/150, you'd have a ~65% chance of getting a hilt in only 30 trips. (No! I did not make this up, do the math yourself. I just happen to know the handy 65% rule) That's really high imo.

Well, I agree mostly here, as I think that overall this was a good update. There are a few gotchas, however. First, this eliminated some types of trust trade scams, but created another one: people charging fees to use the system. This is not happening much yet, but just wait until most high levels get bored of standing around helping people. Second, offering unlimited XP would lead to tremendous abuses of the system in countless ways. The system would be used for power-training and for circumventing conventional leveling. Third, several of the skills shouldn't be in the system as "assistance" with them boils down to nothing more than begging for resources. This includes Fishing, Hunting, Mining and Woodcutting. In response to #1: people did this before AS, such as for fury crafting. I can hardly call this a scam, and really it isn't much of a change to the previous system. I really don't think high levels will charge exorbitant prices for their service; if they wanted profit, they could just Barrow or DK. It's just a little bit of cash to make helping worth their while.

It makes it easier for you to sell and buy stuff too, though, right?

Your entry title is trite. 99% of the time, the answer is no. The other 1% of the time, you're lying to yourself. People can always improve, can always live life fuller. When it comes down to it, Runescape is for enjoyment. Anyone who weighs short-term enjoyment for detrimental long-term unhappiness is just stupid. So I agree with you. But it's fine to enjoy RS. If you want to take life easy and have fun, that's okay.
