  1. Bro, killing 10 million chickens using a bronze dagger ACHIEVEMENT but I'm pretty sure I would get flamed hard for bragging about it because it isn't hard to do, just a waste of time. If you want 99 firemaking because its "fun", then get your 99 FM but don't tell anybody because nobody cares. Nobody cares how hard it is on your wrist either. RS has a relatively low APM rate doubtfully exceeding 100. Play an RTS where you can easily have over 150 APM and then tell me about your poor wrist.
  2. Practically every skill is "clicking the same place over and over again." Welcome to Runescape. You don't need to have a brain to click on your tinderbox and the second slot of your inventory, and then the third, and then the fourth, etc. And true, it isn't hard to go click on a fishing spot every time it moves but at least you have to be consciously aware of what you are doing and not just doing the same motion over and over again. So what's the use of herblore? Or slayer? What about smithing, fishing, woodcutting, construction, farming, and runecrafting? All supposedly "respectable" skillcapes, yet none of them have any practical reasons for getting 99. Firemaking gets the inferno adze at 92. What does farming get? The last thing you can plant is torstol, which is useless for planting, and spirit trees, which you can plant at level 83...not even a quarter of the way to 99. Herblore loses money on every potion except super weapon poison, and even then it's only because the ingredients are untradable...it's always cheaper to sell the ingredients and just buy the potion than to make it yourself. I could go on, but I hope you see that "uselessness" is not a measure of "n00biness." Smithing is respectable because of what it used to be. Plus you can make money using blast furnace and mith arrows or w/e. Fishing can be done for money. Woodcutting can be done for money. Construction has the "I have a better house than you" factor to it. Farming can be done for money. Runecrafting... done for money. Herblore used to be able to net you money. I really don't think many people go for 99 herblore now a days and if you farm your own herbs which is not a big time commitment then you could theoretically break even.
  3. How do you know? Just because you don't like it doesn't mean nobody likes it. Making a generalization like that is a lot n00bier than wearing a fm cape. How do people know they didn't do the skill for fun? If you think fun is clicking the same place over and over again without having to think at all then they would be playing this game http://www.virtual-bubblewrap.com/popnow.shtml And really. At least cooking has a use if you want to cook your own sharks without burning them, but thats stupid because you could just sell your raws and then buy cooked ones already. So actually I was wrong, fletching, FM, and cooking are all pretty stupid 99's.
  4. Wasn't rune plate more than 64k? I could have sworn it was.... I thought the history one was the best.
  5. I just thought it was funny that half of it is in dutch or w.e language that is (excuse me) and then they just say "Player vs Player". I laughed. Really though, this is good. If RS wants to keep growing it is going to have to expand its advertising to more than free online game websites.
  6. Good rant. 5 years to late though. This would have been better when RS2 came out, not 5 years after it came out.
  7. Look I don't play a lot but I fail to even see how there is a lot of strategy. The outside rings give basically no charges. If you survived out there for the entire 10 minutes you still would only have the same amount of charges are someone who was in the middle for like 1 minute. Second, if you are attacking someone and they teleport, you follow them. It doesn't make you lose aggro so unless you click somewhere else your going to find you person again really quickly. Third, the houses are really not good for hiding in. They are just annoying. Standing in the middle you can see basically every exit aside from one or two to the outside rings, but like I said before. Who cares if your prey runs there. They get basically no charges. Maybe I'm not naive but I really don't see how any 'strategy' can make up for a level difference. And compfreak, you have lost 4 times?? Your (basically) maxed out. You are kind of proving my point I think.
  8. Any1 do the OVER 9000! joke yet? (cause i don't read 9 pages) I guess I'd sell my account for like 50 bucks. Its not really impressive and even if it was I don't really care. I'm not particularly attached to it.
  9. I agree. The game can be enjoyable if you are matched up against a similar level of equal skill but there is no skill level that can overcome a 30 level defense difference and one players ability to pray when another can't. The rewards I find (except maybe rc gloves) really aren't worth the hassle either. Maybe if it was based on level and 'skill' I would play it more but as it is now there is no point for me to waste 2 hours fighting level 100's for some gloves. This is from a F2P standpoint. Maybe things are more balanced in P2P.... And please don't say "I've beaten someone 40 levels higher than me!!!". You haven't. You beat a moron.
  10. I think 200m brings you to level 149 or 150. And isn't that 2.1billion the money cap?

If armor is part of your class what class does wearing no armor make you?
  12. I don't mind large font/color/small font as long as it isn't everywhere (and in the case of small font impossible to read) but the chain quotes annoy me too. Quoting pictures is terrible as well. The worst part is if you are going to do it people don't even take the time just to highlight it and press the hide button at the top of the page. So simple but people just leave the huge thing on the page.

Hmm... I direct you to the thread title. "Magic is absurdly underpowered". I don't think it says "Magic in combination with a whip is absurdly underpowered". And once again, we have a hybrid beating up on a moron. I don't think "the mager WITHOUT a whip" would EASILY defeat that meleer. Since the begining of this thread the argument that magic is good always has the person using magic hybriding. I can build a good argument for melee and range being good without them switching weapons every 10 seconds.
  14. fat_klutz replied to Veritas94's topic in Rants
I admitted magic is strong at hybriding. Thats what I meant when I typed "Right!!!!". I don't know what the point of your syllogism thing was because I am stupid. I guess I am missing the point because I look at it and say "Wow, player B is a moron because I'm sure the creators of the game would have put something into the game that cuts the time he can't attack in half". You don't understand what rebalance means I guess though. It would be tough especially if RS is the only game you have played. It really isn't something Jagex ever does. It doesn't mean buff. It means change so magic stops blowing when it is the only thing used and it stops owning when combined with a DDS/whip. And since you added that player A or w.e can now poison and [cabbage] heres a shocker.... PLAYER B WHIPS OUT HIS SEERCULL BOW AND HITS A 30 MAKING PLAYER A NOT BE ABLE TO [cabbage]!!!! WTF NOW. Really. All these situations of the "mage" owning are just situations of a hybrid kicking the crap out of someone is rune armor to stupid to pull out a cbow. Stop talking about hybriding and talk about how people using magical spells get the [cabbage] kicked out of them by people using bows/swords/whips.

Exactly. I can wear ahrims and a whip, have runes in my inventory and cast magic. I can use melee and magic simultaneously. I don't need a staff to cast magic. Right!!!! So all you have proved is if you are hybirding, magic is extremely powerful. On its own it still is weak compared to range and melee!!!! Rebalance magic so it isn't a support skill!
  16. fat_klutz replied to Veritas94's topic in Rants
Thats where me and you disagree at least compfreak. In my opinion it doesn't matter what armor you are using. It matters what weapon you are. For instance if a someone casting wind strike is in full iron they are still using mage right?? Sure they are stupid but they are still a mage. Somebody fighting with an MSB in full torags is still a ranger, right?? Same thing with melee. Someone using a whip in d-hide is still a meleer. I will answer this. Ya, they should. But at the same time d-hide should lower str/stab/slash/crush. Just like melee armor lowers range.
  17. fat_klutz replied to Veritas94's topic in Rants
It doesn't matter what armor you are wearing. If someone puts on full rune and starts maging are they a mage? Yes, a stupid one, but still a mage. A person with a whip in armydl is using melee. A person using magicks and a whip is no longer a mage. They are a hybrid and I don't wanna argue over hybriding or anything. Yes, it is clearly smarter to hybrid no matter what you originally start off as but at least it is an OPTION for range and melee. For magic it isn't. You either do it or go into the wildy in your robes and get destroyed or go in full torags and hit nothing.

A person casting ONLY magic will lose a fight. A person using ONLY range will win some lose some. A person using ONLY melee will win some lose some. This is what I am talking about. Mage relying on range to get the kill. If I go to youtube (a bad example I know) and search for something like PK videos I doubt I would find many pure mage ones. On the other hand I could find a butt load of people only using DDS/whip or Darkbow/Cbow and getting kills. Below is just [cabbage] I am typing. I'm bad at getting my thoughts into words so try and understand it. [hide=Random Babble]Mage who switches to a melee. Melee who casts magic. What exactly is the difference between these two?? Nothing.... Both cases have to resort to pulling out a whip/GS or w.e to defend yourself and get the KO. Thats why mage is bad. Melee doesn't need to hybrid. It sure helps obviously but with whip/dds/claws/GS they have plenty of different weapons for each situation. Range can hold its own too. Different bolts hit hard and the darkbow for the KO. Mage on its own is bad. It has become a support skill. You might call yourself a mage but all you are really doing is buttering up your opponent before you take out your whip/w.e for the KO.[/hide]

I agree with you but right below your rant is a "Jagex favors melee" rant which is 4 pages and basically the same thing. Your last post was right on btw.
  20. I define your class by the weapon/attack you are using. If you are holding a whip and using it you are meleeing. Please use magic and beat someone using melee. Not use magic and then take out your GS/Whip and kill them with that.
  21. fat_klutz replied to Veritas94's topic in Rants
Do people not pray against you?? Do they leave their armor on?? Really, I think you fight morons.
  22. Your no longer maging if you pull out a whip... Or am I misunderstanding you?
  23. I think they said they were never going to release the "better half" of the armor if you will. That would include plate, full helm, and kite. ....
  24. I did body tiaras. You lose a [cabbage] load of cash but it is fast.
