  1. 99 strength is a good cape and achievement because unlike some other capes that are widely gotten *cough*firemaking*cough* 99 strength actually has a use.
  2. I don't see why anybody thinks this is a good update. Because it has a good story line? Are you serious? Read a book. I don't want my quests to be dull as hell but I can't believe people are like "This quest is good because it developed a story line!!". Seriously. Entertaining quests are nice but there are these things called books.
  3. So if RS3 doesn't come out this year we can officially declare Jagex [bleep]ed around the four months of the year.
  4. Nobody tried to hack you. Somebody tried to get you to tell them your PW. Big difference.
  5. My point remains. If people kept their items instead of always trying to sell them back for a profit this wouldn't happen. And if you say "Well I only needed the armor for one slayer task so then I sold it back" then you should just borrow it from someone. Merchanting clans only effect people who are trying to merchant themselves.
  6. There good. They punish people who care about their geepees by making them freak out when they see a 20gp increase in their rune plate. If people just held onto their items and stopped trying to make money off of everything merchant clans would disappear. The only reason they exist is because their are idiots who freak out when they see a GE graph of an item falling or rising.
  7. Why did the admins use such an old meme? And are seagulls any good for hunting?
  8. We playing the same game dude? There have been more bugs and flaws in the past three months than in years. He doesn't do everything, you can't blame him for the bugs and flaws and such which are probaly inevidable with these sorts of updates anyway. I mean it's not like they arn't trying to rush everything, look how they've held back Mobilising Armies and the "150th quest" so they're perfect. CEO doesn't really do anything. I said this a page back but everybody ignored me. Stockholders-->Board of Directors-->CEO. BTW, you are now making the assumption that the 150th quest and mobilizing armies are both going to be bug free and good. I sincerely doubt that both of them will be received favorably and I bet there is a high chance that they both are soon forgotten about. Right, more regular and focused development diaries? We have gotten one and it was crap. We learned that we are getting a dwarf quest.... Great. I don't think many people give a dam when the story line is compared to some others people would like finished. Nice apology when 2 months later a bug occurs that ends up letting F2P get slaughtered by P2P in pvp worlds. Nice. I am so surprised by useful updates like the removal of random events. I mean, we had only been asking for this since forever and it has made sense for well over a year? I mean seriously, I don't mean to vilify Mod MMG because he is new but I do expect a little more. He inherited a competent company that has been running a game for 5+ years quite well. It isn't like he was thrust into some crap situation and is being forced to dig his way out. All I am saying is I expected a little more than updates that are simple fixes to problems that have been around for ages.
  9. We playing the same game dude? There have been more bugs and flaws in the past three months than in years.
  10. Light fire-X is a little harder though because all other 'x' skills are done independently of other people. Would jagex program it so you would move around an obstruction in the way or what? Know what I mean?
  11. Who really cares. If you know anything about how a company works it is like this. Stockholders-->Board of Directors-->CEO Paul and Andrew (As far as I know) still own the majority of the stock so you can say whatever you want but it is still mainly their company. Even if they don't though the CEO ultimately has to answer to what the BOD wants. He is really just a public icon and figure head.
  12. Nice fail fire waves. If I was you I would re-tape that scene.
  13. Knife glitch. You used to be able to wield knives in RSC. They gave mediocre stats but somebody found a way to equip like 20 of them at once plus their R2H or something. The hits rivaled what we have today I believe but the difference was you were stuck in combat for three turns and couldn't eat. At least I think that is what happened. It was something like that.
  14. You read his post very poorly. He didn't say that Jagex wasn't going to come out with high level updates. He said they aren't going to come out with high level quests. And I agree with his reasons. What is the honest point of making a super high level quest for 1% of players that will be finished by them within a day and everybody will forget about it 2 weeks later?
  15. I agree, long explanation kind of below. BTW, hybrid arguments are [developmentally delayed]ed. Just because magic works well in combination with range and melee doesn't mean it is good. [hide=]Range armor is overpowered and mage armor is underpowered. Range armor is just to damn good at doing what it is supposed to. Block spells. The problem like some people said is that meleer's have no reason to stay in their 'metal' armor when fighting a mage. Except for bandos (and maybe one or two other things) their armor gives absolutely nothing that helps them deal damage or hit. That messes up the triangle. And then mage armor just blows. I mean, you can't really even call what they have armor. Sure they can bind and everything but praying, d-hide, and other things can really screw that over and if all else fails the person can just run. Running you say might be a prob for other classes as well but atleast they can KO effectively (using a single combat type, no casting blitz and then Dbow Spec). The argument that meleers have to train two skills is pretty dumb. Melee can train very cheaply and very quickly. To train quickly with mage or range you are going to suffer a hit to your check book where as with melee you get good exp without losing gobs of money. But one thing I'd like to point out which was said here Melee probably isn't the strongest class in PvM. I don't know what is but I think melee is balanced in that regard.[/hide]
  16. I'm surprised people here are so hostile to other games considering that we all play a game that possibly gets made fun of most in the world. And who honestly cares. The concept of a MMO is a rip-off. Everything is a rip-off by now. And btw, at least AQ has a combat system where you can understand your chances of winning.
  17. I disagreed with everything in the first article mainly: Yes. Really though, the article just seemed really biased and corny. With the all the "This author laughed out loud" and stuff and things like " You want to make RS a better and brighter? Let's do it together" were just lame. I would have rather seen an objective letter than a subjective one.
  18. Isn't the amount of experience you can get at like levels 92+ a lot for combat? If you get combat exp in the mini game and win a game, draw a game, and lose a game, you could get a ton of combat exp. No?
  19. Why? Because they nabbed 20k fast exp and you didn't? This bug doesn't hurt anybody and unless somebody got 20 99's of off it I don't see what the problem is. It isn't like the knife bug where people got like +100 str or the phat dupe that has had huge long term effects. It is just a blunder in the system that some people found and took advantage of. Is this any different than finding a safespot that shouldn't be there and soloing bosses for tons of easy cash? Not really. I think people are over reacting and the only people who should be banned are those who truly abused it and got tons and tons of extra exp.
  20. Make it less straight forward. I am pretty sure the guy who came up for "exploration" found a way to make it less straightforward than walking around.... exploring. This is part of the updating I mean.
  21. Well uh, FM is useless unless you want the cape or for some reason have a fetish for clicking repetitively, Smithing hasn't seen an incredibly useful update in awhile, woodcutting hasn't changed in basically forever, fletching is basically the same as FM, etc. AS for the actual game, maybe like the entire combat system is based on luck, castlewars could use some simply changes like letting people actually shoot out of the towers in the middle, I'm sure other mini-games could use updating, stuff like PKing isn't exactly innovative and fun when (as I mentioned) it basically requires you to get lucky and even when you do you might get like 2 str potions and a lobster for your time. I'm not saying exploration is a bad idea. It is just sometimes people seem so caught up in "I wanna be one of the first people to get 70 in (insert skill)!". They don't actually care much about what the skill is but they want a new skill so they can level it and add to their total level or show off the new items. Really, adding a new skill would be great but I just think updating all the things we already have is a much better option.; BTW, why is what I said blocked? A fetish is nothing more than a strong desire. It doesn't have to be sexual...
  22. I agree with the guy on the first page. Why do we need another skill when Jagex can just update pre-existing ones. FFS, you actually update FM and that is basically an entirely new skill right there.
  23. This is such a bad argument. The amount of clicking is not a lot compared to other games people play or the amount of clicking needed for some other activities in RS.
  24. You know what is kind of funny. People in this thread say that a major reason for training firemaking is that they actually enjoy it. How come then over 15000 (rough estimate using high scores) people who have 99 firemaking stopped training it as soon as they hit 99? How about because they actually hate training the skill and only wanted the 99.
