  1. Unless I am mistaken, you don't have to be on task to go kill aquanites. They aren't aggressive, so you don't have to worry about getting piled on. You can experiment with setups & strategies before you unlock. They are weak to stab (think leaf-bladed sword / rune defender or Z-spear) and drop a lot of raw fish. Still, I prefer a unicorn over a bunyip. Wear your best hides (or similar mage defense armor) and have fun. ITS A GAME, NOT A JOB. I seriously almost fell for this troll until "and have fun." Well played.
  2. Korasi's spec has no accuracy- it hits no matter what. No attack bonus will have any effect, only strength bonus matters.
  3. This is why you're playing the wrong game. If you like jumping right in and killing people without any effort put in to developing your character and earning abilities, there are many, many genres of game that cater directly to you. First-person shooters sound like they'd be right up your alley. What the hell are you doing playing an RPG if you don't like training? This has been a problem for a long time. Some PKers are selfish, lazy brats who for some bizarre reason have chosen to play a game that requires work and delayed gratification, and then they get pissed off about it when an update comes out that requires work and delayed gratification. Quit. Play a game geared toward you, because this is not it. Stop trying to hold everyone back because of your asinine ideas on how RPGs should do away with the concept of leveling. Some people are not lazy and spoiled and enjoy the sense of accomplishment that we get from earning new abilities, and this is the kind of game made for us.
  4. Most of us hating on aquanites in this thread can soul split them, which eliminates the need to pray and bank. They're bad because they're spread out and have high defense, PLUS crappy drops. I seem to hit 400's on them fairly regularly with a zs super atk/str and the 10% str prayer so their def can't be that high...and I can see where your coming from on them being spread out a bit it's a bit of a hassle...and If you're going to base a task solely on drops do you skip dark beasts as well?? For a slayer monster, aquanites have high defense. That's not really something arguable, just a fact. Compare number of 0s you hit there to the majority of other tasks (dust devils, bloodveld, greater/black demons, gargoyles, aberrant specters, nechryael, etc etc etc) and the difference is very clear. Dark beasts drop decent effigies and are extremely AFKable. They also have low defense and high hp AND they come to you even while you're already fighting one, making them incredibly fast exp. There is simply no comparison to be made between dark beasts and aquanites, I'm not sure why you brought it up.

  6. Of course I'm not, but if I see something stupid on TV and run out to buy it, whose fault is that? It's my own damn fault and nobody else's. It's not even a tiny bit the fault of the advertisers, or the game designers, if people do what they say. Scammers are only different because what they do involves directly stealing, but even then if I fell for a scam I'd absolutely consider it my fault. You have choices, and other people will try to influence them. If you fall for it, that's YOUR fault, not theirs. I can't believe we're even having this discussion.
  7. I love this argument because it means suddenly people aren't responsible for their own choices. Free will is a myth. Surely some people are more susceptible than others, but it does play a role. I like how you snipped out the part of my argument where I give examples of why this train of thought is ridiculous.
  8. wyverns are 160 kills/h (33.6k xp) with a whip and extremes, and at least 180 (37.8k xp) with cls and overloads, even more if you use maul and unicorn. Wow, seriously? Spoilers: I haven't killed a wyvern since before extreme potions came out lol.
  9. Re: slowest task- nah, I think wyverns are worse, even with a cannon. They're still much much worse than the average task, though; I don't see any reason whatsoever to pay points for the opportunity to get a bad task.
  10. Skeletal wyverns are extremely resistant to stab, so slash would be worthwhile there. Besides that, I'm having trouble thinking of a task that even has noticeable defense when I'm using a rapier and turmoil. I'm only coming up with mithril/black dragons, which of course are weak to stab.
  11. TDs will probably only make in the realm of half the RC exp/hour as ZMI, but they have significant advantages too. Effigies give you random skill exp in other stuff when you get them, which ZMI obviously won't, and they're also a pretty fantastic source of money. If you're after RC exp right now at the expense of all else, ZMI is the way to go by far, but if you're okay with taking it slower and getting other exp and money (= more buyable skill exp) on the way, TDs are great. Frosts are also a good monster to mix it up with, since they also have high cash/hour and effigy droprates, and are almost semi-afk compared to TDs. As for crafting, as others have said, buy battlestaves off the GE as well. You get 100/4 hours that way if you always have an offer in, and the gp/exp vs exp/hour is still extremely good compared to other methods. I like to just let them pile up until I have 1.5k or so and then go on a crafting spree.
  12. I'm like 90% sure I remember hearing that his mage attack hits through prayer, either partially or fully.
  13. I'm not sure what planet you're from, but there's never enough on the table for everyone in my team to get a toolkit and enough ess for laws and cosmics, let alone a log too. Or do your teams not use gatestones? two of the people I dung with have laws bound, and I make ~5 alch spells to alch the tier 8s, I have more then enough for ess and logs. Because cutting one log is a waste of time but alching isn't? This. You're going to spend more time making alchs and alching table items than you would going into the first room, killing a monster for a stack of cash, AND chopping a grave branch. I really think you're underestimating how fast wc is. Getting a branch is hardly any time at all.
  14. Hell, in that case, why not just make body runes to 99? Because clearly you have no stake in getting there quickly or effectively. Why ask people's opinions at all if it doesn't matter to you what training methods are good or horrible? It's impossible to have a meaningful opinion when you'll arbitrarily select which way is best anyway. I don't mind people not being efficient, but it's silly to ask for advice if you don't really care.
  15. So basically you're saying "assuming I refuse to train RC in the only remotely sane way, how should I train RC?" I'm not enabling you by giving an opinion. Turn Lunars on and train right- you're talking about cutting your exp/hour by 20%+ to avoid a two minute tops run to the lunar altar. Madness.
  16. Do Fairy Tale 3 and unlock slayer rings. Teleport to Slayer caves, use fairy ring you just landed directly next to, punch in CIP (which is a very fact code to enter compared to most) and there you are. You're also a hell of a lot closer to the castle and good stuff to gain approval with than you are with the spirit tree teleport. Overall fairy rings are MUCH faster unless you want that bush patch as well (which was too much of a hassle for too little exp for my liking when I was going for 99 farming; your mileage my vary).
  17. Rapier by a lot. Gargoyles have low enough defense that the huge extra strength bonus means way more than using crush vs. stab.
  18. Off topic, but there's absolutely no excuse to be using dragon chain and legs. Get barrows, please. It's so much better and repair costs are so small as to not exist.
  19. I actually see a problem with every skill being like herblore. Though i agree every skill should be useful in its own right, a player should be able to be a great mage/fighter without a grinding of multiple skills to 90+ for there equavalent of overload potions. This has particular effect on PVP, in which people who just want to PK should not have to bring 8 other skills up to level 99 for the sake of being a better Pker. Of course, this could be solved by making every one of these skills unusable in PVP. But it still has the problem of compelling combat lovers to get 90+ in certain skills just to compete with other boss hunters. I'm of the opinion that if someone is high/maxed combat, they should be able to do the most damage/whatever that runescape allows. And not be constrained by the 8 other skills, which though not specified as combat skills, are actually a requirement for true maxed combat. Because in Runescape, unlike other RPGs, leveling up shouldn't give an advantage? Forget that. If you want to be powerful, you need to train your account. Noobs who sit in pest control until max combat have no right to compete with a well-rounded player. Otherwise why have all those other skills? Looks? The illusion of having more meaningful content than actually exists? This is the same old argument of "I want the game to be over sooner because I want to be the best without earning it." Sorry, you've picked the wrong genre.
  20. That's because you spend way more time being a higher level than a lower level. You hardly grow any herbs as a level 50- because leveling happens so fast, so of course you don't see the rarer high herb yields yet. Some people have, but it's rare, especially because lower levels also tend to do things like not use supercompost (which does have an effect on yield). I'm going to take issue with this one. Herblore is a perfect example of a skill with great high-level content, but a dearth of low-level content. Beginner-level herblore today is practically the same as it was in RSC. There's nothing in the skill to get beginners started, creating a significant barrier to entry. As a result, new members just don't train herblore. The skill is seriously lacking in introductory content; it needs something to convince new players that they should be training it in the first place. This is a big problem for farming and some other skills as well. This is part of what I was talking about when I said there has to be content for all levels. Herblore has quest requirements up to the 60s I believe (what was WGS again?). It could maybe use a couple more quests pushing herblore requirements up into the low 80s, but it's decent as it is now. People who train it are heavily rewarded, which is a lot more than you can say for most skills.
  21. Yeah, when the objective update came out is when we got a Jmod confirming that it doesn't help. A bunch of high level farmers went on the forums going "lolwut farming increases yield?" to which a developer said "oops, no, we'll fix that message in the next update." Predictably, they didn't.
  22. @Sir Kurity- Most of your statements start with "I've heard." If you check my stats, I can actually do them (besides 91 rc, but I'm close enough to know exactly what the profit would be and understand that it'll be worthless when I get there) and can verify their uselessness. Your faulty information does not count as evidence. Actually, it does increase your Max crop yield...however it doesn't increase the chance of getting higher yields, or reduce disease. It doesn't, I can guarantee it. The average herb per patch remains constant all the way from the level you can grow the herb to 99. I and many other 99 farmers who grew herbs the entire time can confirm this. If the possible max increased you'd still see a slight increase in average yield, which you don't.
  23. Usually after I grab a pile of coins from an early monster so I can go back and make runes, I'll just buy an even 100 ess and make 60 laws, 60 cosmics (I double them, so 30 ess), and 20 astrals (again, doubled). That's guaranteed to be more than I need, which is better than making less and running out.
  24. Farming doesn't increase crop yield or reduce disease at all, according to J mods (and player observation). Torstol is a decent thing to grow for the My Arm patch but not the other ones, so a slight benefit at 85. Adze is worthless ever since ivy; handcannon I'll give you. Mining- LRC stops at 80, rune ore is SOOO bad for money. Easily one of the most frustrating ways to attempt to skill for cash, does not count as a benefit if you can access green dragons. Herblore is an obvious one, yeah. No slayer monster is best for money anymore- if you're reaching the 90s in that you can easily kill green dragons for much more profit. RC- double nats are only ~700k/hour nowadays. Good for a skilling method, but a terrible moneymaker overall. Worthless. Thieving- Lol what. I do master farmers weekly for my strange rocks (93 thieving) and I'm lucky to get seeds equal to 1k/minute (60k/hour). Are you serious? Agility- Meh. Marginally useful stuff, sure, but nothing worth training for past 70. Hunter- Yeaaah let's go fight bots in Puro Puro. That's a damn good way to get 500k an hour there, assuming you EVER find an imp that doesn't already have a bot after it. I love how people come up with the most ridiculous stuff when they try to legitimize skilling. Most skilling is worthless for anything but personal accomplishment right now, there is no way to argue that. Jagex has destroyed any other skill for money making by offering frost dragons at 85 dungeoneering; all they can do now is offer REAL benefits at high levels, like they did with herblore.
  25. I'm not sure what planet you're from, but there's never enough on the table for everyone in my team to get a toolkit and enough ess for laws and cosmics, let alone a log too. Or do your teams not use gatestones?
