You could also ditch some brews and restores (probably like 4 brews and 2 restores) to bring some special recovers. Chug them as much as possible to get extra claw specs in, which speeds up kills significantly. Ends up saving brew a lot of the time because of faster kills. Also make sure to soul split to full hp on the minions, that helps a ton.
  2. technically more efficient to do butterflies for xp and then monster hunt for gp, if you are able to access those bosses. True, but for people who aren't maxed with turm and overloads getting a cool 1.2-1.5 mil an hour is considered pretty good. Especially when compared to things like cutting yews... I'm under the impression even blue dragons at a modest combat level with the 70 agility shortcut is better than 1.5m/hour. Could be wrong though.
  3. It's not so much about honor as it is that, if everyone prayed in dangerous PvP, nobody would ever get kills. Doing a bunch of fights without any kills isn't in anyone's best interest, because it's a waste of money and food for everyone involved. Thus, if somebody starts praying, the other person has the option to run away, because they know damn well they're never going to get a kill through prayer and there's no point in bothering anymore.
  4. Lol I wasn't even intending to fool anybody, I thought it was a pretty obvious parody.
  5. Oh. But that's exactly what I was talking about. Dragons obviously work on the basis of using equipment stats because stab is more effective than other styles, and there's no way to get just stab defense besides equipment. It's logical to conclude that they also use armor bonuses to defend against magic. Or, if you want to say that's false too, I did plenty of high hits on rangers in Clan Wars when I went to try it out. Nothing seems to make a difference to the sword except magic prayer, which is consistent with how it should be working based on the combat formula. If you want to claim otherwise you have to provide good, hard numbers, not just "it feels this way." The "feeling" argument is how people end up slaying with glory, Bandos, and DFS.
  6. ...What? So you're saying that wearing Ahrim's makes the sword hit higher? Skimming through the thread that's not what it looked like you were saying at all.
  7. Too much luck involved for that, Squab. The obvious solution is to spec 50 times on metal armor and dhide armor and record every hit so that we can prove that yes, like every other single-splat attack in the game, Korasi's special follows an even distribution from its min to its max when it hits, regardless of armor. I've hit too many high 700's on mithril dragons with that thing to believe for a second that mage defense protects against high hits; I know from experience that mithril dragons have high magic defense that should be slowing down my specials but definitely doesn't in practice.
  8. And by that your implying that i am trying to do....what? (That's a question, so please answer it) Convince people that an item has been fine the way it is for years suddenly is "due" for some sort of update, causing a price rise. Bonus points if Jagex actually updates it (which obviously they won't).
  9. Sounds like someone has invested in rings of stone...
  10. Extensive testing says no.
  11. Worthwhile moneymakers: Soloing most bosses (TDs, Bandos, DKs, etc) Frost dragons Farming torstol with juju pots Flipping Not worthwhile moneymakers: Skilling that is not farming herbs.
  12. No. Man this quest is the most annoying quest to come out in recent memory. They forgot all they've learned about not requiring a metric ton of random items, not requiring a ton of running around without providing teleports, AND they made us run across the entire map for no real narrative reason. This is horrible.
  13. Golvellius really shouldn't be allowed to post in Help and Advice. It's amazing anyone could answer a question this simple incorrectly. Fishing spots move randomly, so number of people doesn't matter. Trees have a set chance to fall any time anyone gets a log from them, so more people means more chances to fell the tree.
  14. Oof, only 200k/hour? That's pretty dismal. It might be worth doing the ogre city blue dragons you can access after Watchtower. I don't believe those are too crowded anymore. Even better would be getting 70 agility and killing them under Taverly, but that's a lot of agility grinding.
  15. In the mean time, if you want to kill things for profit, green dragons are an appropriate moneymaker for your level. You'll have to get pretty high combat stats before a boss monster will give you better profit than dragon slaying.
  16. No it's not...you can have an opinion about it at that level. "I don't like dungeoneering" is an easy example of an opinion they could have. You can't accurately judge a skill when you're that low. You can say you don't like it but the fact is that it changes completely toward the 70s and keeps getting better. I hated dungeoneering at 60 but I understood that, like any skill, it was probably going to suck until I had actually tried it. At 60 you've not scratched the surface of most skills.
  17. If I didn't give up training to 85 slayer without a black mask, Bandos armor, fury, piety, bunyip, excalibur, etc., I don't see why noobs these days should give up on combat just because "bawwww some people are BETTER than me!" The fact is, regardless of how put-upon you feel, you still have it WAY better than before a lot of these updates came out.
  18. So what will buyable Elysians do to the Divine? I'd imagine that a lot of people, given the choice between buying a good shield on the GE or dealing with street trading crap to get a great shield, will settle for the Ely while they wait for Divine to inevitably follow in the Ely's footsteps. I doubt the effect will be huge or instantaneous, but I could certainly see it hastening the Divine's decline compared to if Elysians had maintained street.
  19. You're right. Nobody should ever try to improve their characters or do things that benefit them, and safe PvP is OMG SO IMPORTANT. Let's get back on topic. Lol? So I can't disagree with you? We are on topic. Trololol. Stop making everything about disagreeing with efficiency. It's not related to the topic. Go troll the exclusive content thread.

  21. monster mechanics are way too simple for range/melee's advantage to show. in dg it's different; magic and range can be used tactically against bosses (bind, safespot, lower def, mage/ranging a first hit and then running in with melee) safe pvp represents the best case scenario for each fighting style. in this sense, balancing it is significant. yes, most people see safe pvp as screwing around - and i think this is sad because it's the only real place where skill-based balanced combat has a chance to flourish. dangerous pvp is shot to hell in my eyes. it's failed beyond repair... 90% of it is luck. Sure, but this doesn't change the fact that no safe PvP is ever significantly helpful. The magic and ranged points in the combat triangle remain dull because melee can go out and make tons of money, maybe with a little ranged hybridding (or not!), and magic is stuck with DK rex and ice strykewyrms. Safe PvP is interesting and involves a lot of skill, but has no reward whatsoever for doing very well instead of just okay, so it really doesn't count as balancing in the sense of making every type of combat equally useful. And exactly why is that? Don't troll me, bro. You know exactly why and you're trying to start something by calling me an efficiency troll. If you kill more monsters per hour, you get more money per hour which means more stuff accomplished. If you kill more people in safe PvP you get to feel good about yourself (and you probably SPENT a lot of money to do it). That's a pretty big difference even for people who aren't efficiency-minded.
  22. Saying the combat triangle is balanced in PvP (and you seem to specifically be talking about safe PvP) but not PvM just means that it's balanced everywhere it doesn't matter. Safe PvP is the pointless screwing around of RS- if you actually want to accomplish something, you're going to be killing monsters. Not to say safe PvP shouldn't be balanced, but it's really the bottom of the barrel when it comes to relative importance.
  23. They should fill up the bottom before they go to the top. If someone is, for example, at 80 hunter. And the next reward is at 90 (over 20+ hours of grinding away, btw), it really is not enjoyable for everyone involved. Then don't get it. Some people are not as stunningly impatient as you.
