  1. Are you sure you play Runescape? "And its proportional to the amount of players at that level range." Maybe there aren't a whole lot of people with high skill levels because they're almost all worthless.
  2. Pirating is bad. :o Anyway, world 77 is a lot more pleasant than world 84 since it is *somewhat* less crowded. Yeah, it's to movies what libraries were to books, it'll completely rui-- wait, nevermind. I didn't know about world 77, I'll have to try that out. Though with rocktails the lag really doesn't matter much, and the crowds are a good thing otherwise.
  3. Both rings have the exact same effect on skill door damage. That said, gatherer is infinitely superior. Mining ore for bloodragers, chopping wood for fires, and harvesting herbs are three very common activities that gatherer's ring helps with, and I don't believe it helps with any of the secondary actions that come afterwards.
  4. Can you say" HERBLORE INFLATION ONCE MORE?" With a skill that already costs a fortune to get a big update, it just makes it even more expensive to just level it up in general. Cost me a bundle to level it up for quests because of updates :| I'm kind of expecting this to be a way to nab some free repeatable xp rather than something that will require absurdly high herblore levels. Though being 99 herblore I will not mind at all if high herblore is a huge advantage :D
  5. Better late than with game-breaking bugs. Though knowing Jagex lately, it'll be both. Still, I'm not at all opposed to them slowing down in order to at least TRY to test content before putting it out.
  6. Site wouldn't load for a few minutes and I came back to find I had double posted, despite clicking the button once -.-
  7. My opinion on crashing is, if you're at a spot where you can easily find another world by hopping once or twice, crashing is not okay and just annoying. However, if you're either at the best world (for example, world 2 KBD soloing because of fast spawns), or someplace extremely crowded on every world (Bandos), you need to be prepared to defend your spot. I'll crash someone who isn't very good taking up a prime resource no problem, because they haven't earned the ability to defend it. It's different from just happening to be on the same world as someone else and crashing because you're a jerk- this is a resource that only a certain number of people can use at once, so may the best man win.
  8. Yes but you can only get 3 scrolls off before running out of special, so you need multiple bloodragers to effectively kill the defence of a boss. Though just those 3 specs do make a pretty huge difference on most bosses.
  9. Are you clicking on the fishing spot? Are you clicking on another when it moves? Are you banking and returning when your inventory is full? Congratulations, you are a pro rocktail fisher. If you want faster exp barbarian fishing is quite a lot faster, but rocktails are the best afk method around.
  10. If you don't care what's good or bad, DON'T ask for advice. It's so irritating when people do this. "What's best?" "<insert best thing>" "But I don't LIIIIIIKE that!" "But it's best" "Lol I don't care." Go do whatever you want then. Our opinions obviously mean nothing to you.
  11. You can use two ring classes, but as a keyer it's a little annoying trying to switch them all the time, especially since you can't switch while in combat. The only way switching to 2h or battleaxe wouldn't be monumentally dumb is if you use a berserker ring with them- they're flat out inferior without it. The battleaxe, by the way, is significantly inferior to the 2h with no appreciable advantage if you aren't using a tank ring. The only exception of this is if you're comparing across metal types- primal battleaxe is only SLIGHTLY worse than promethium 2h, but a LOT worse than primal 2h. Gatherer and artisan rings say right in the description that they reduce damage from skill doors by a certain percentage.
  12. 2H is the best weapon for damage per second with berserker ring. Spear is the best with no ring. Battleaxe is largely considered the best one-handed weapon, though pro keyers seem to be moving away from tank ring in favor of gatherer because failing skill doors is one of the leading causes of keyers getting KO'd (run through a room with t11 mage and ranger among other miscellaneous monsters and then get hit a 600 by the door, and you've got a good shot at being dead). I'd opt for the spear if you key, because it allows you to keep gatherer on and still do good damage. 2h is also great even without zerker on and a lot more useful for when you aren't keying.
  13. I don't know it offhand but I know Grimy Bunyip's crafting spreadsheet has it. He has a thread on AoW with that and a LOT of other useful data, definitely worth checking out.
  14. Air battlestaves are very fast and very cheap at the expense of only being able to get 100/4 hours on the GE. I recommend leaving in an offer at all times until you're 99 and focusing on other skills whenever you don't have a pile of staves to make.
  15. If you're going to do rocktails, I recommend netflixing/pirating some movies you've been wanting to see. You can literally pay no attention to the screen for 4+ minutes at a time if you play on w84, making it one of the best afk tasks in the game. If you're the kind of person who sits there watching the screen no matter what, though, it's not worthwhile to do rocktails. The profit per hour, while the best possible for fishing, is very small- you'd be a LOT better off with barbarian fishing or shilo, and then killing something profitable in the tens (hundreds?) of hours you save on 99 fishing.
  16. Yea, im not disagreeing that skills should be useful, but they should be useful in other ways. RPG's in general allow you to build your character as you see fit. If you don't want to smith your own sword, you can buy it off someone else. If you don't want to fight you can run around smithing swords and sell them to your fellow adventurers. ETC. I can't think of a game where this holds true. Look at Morrowind, for example. You can get crappy potions from NPCs but the ones you make yourself through alchemy are WAY WAY better. Your athletics skill, while not directly combat-related, helps keep your fatigue up, which means easier fighting. Sneaking is supplemental to combat in that you can sneak up on things and kill them more easily as a result, but most of its uses are outside of combat. Etc. Etc. To become as powerful as possible, you'll have to train all of your skills. Name an RPG that has both combat and content outside of combat that doesn't provide you with a reason to train the noncombat stuff, either to earn money or to enhance your combat in another way. I really doubt this exists.
  17. How is this any different from people like green demanding exclusive content for them and other high level grinders. Head out of ass please. Because there's a strong precedent for leveling up having advantages in the RPG genre in general, and in this game specifically (see: herblore). What you're saying is that you want this game to function differently from other RPGs in that leveling up should be largely worthless. In other words, you're lazy. There are games for people like you, but this is not one of them. Stop clinging to a sinking ship and either get used to how this game works and will work, or play something else. You're doing nothing but attempting to hold the game back because you want it to be something it's not. Edit: And not everyone has the reflexes for first person shooters or the brains for puzzle games, and some people get motion sickness that makes flight simulators unpleasant. Should we just make all video games bland because people have disabilities that prevent them from doing certain things? No, people who can't handle certain games can play other ones. Kids with ADHD can play something besides RS.
  18. He helped with everything else before getting runes, but it usually doesn't take long to grab a pile of cash and get enough casts to start taking out warriors. Another part of his advantage is having a ~90 combat makes the average GD much easier (because the dungeon scales to the average combat level), and since he was so low and still ripping through mages and warriors just as well as the rest of the team, his net effect was positive. Obviously if you're not low level like he is you won't be quite as well off, but my point is that it's possible to get through without a melee weapon. Also, if you're not with some snotty 100+ clan (which I assume you aren't or we wouldn't be having this discussion), your chances of getting kicked for stuff like that is lower. As long as you keep up they probably won't do more than heckle you.

Other things that will help use up your overloads: TDs, Corp, DKs, GWD... plenty of places to use them up if you feel like you have too many. At one point I had 800 ovls and was like "I'll never use these up," and then I got into corp FFA. I'm down to like 500 now and still steadily using them :P
  20. I've done several dungeons with a ranged/mage pure at 110+ dungeoneering. He binds hexhunter bow, sag arrows, hood, and a blood necklace and then just crafts himself some combat runes and an empowered fire staff to use when he gets a moment. He's damn good and has no problem keeping up with a team doing 25 minute occult floors. Something to consider.
  21. For farming, yes it's worth it to plant snaps in every patch, but when you get torstol that's best left to My Arm's patch. Torstol still profits on average in the other patches, but not as much as snaps do just because of how much of a loss it is when it dies. Snaps though are the best profit/patch possible (last I checked, anyway), taking deaths into account.
  22. You're right. Let's just make all skills worthless instead. The only reason people train herblore is untradable potions. I can guarantee you it wouldn't work that way if the potions were tradable.
  23. Look at the price of saradomin brew (3). Now look at the price of toadflax + crushed nest + vial. That's why the content needs to be untradable.
  24. Well, I mean, they can either quit or continually be pissed off that the game is in no way geared to their playstyle. I just assume it'd be more fun for them if they buy some mindless FPS and go frolick with their own kind rather than sitting here trying to stick their square peg in a round hole.
