"Wherever I lay my hat - thats my home". However, I can usually be found on either world 53 or 54. Even though I live in England I find that the London worlds lag much more than the Amsterdam worlds (53 and 54). Longer distance = less lag - its a strange world isn't it

I'd like to congratulate the author on a great article. I agree entirely with every thing that was said. I first discovered RS when it had just emerged from beta version, first as F2P, then once I got "addicted" to the game joined the P2P community. In all that time Jagex have never done anything to seriously dent my enjoyment of the game. One should always remember the adage "You can never please ALL the people ALL the time, but you can please MOST of the people MOST of the time". Because of the many ways you can play RS, any update by Jagex will always upset a part of the community. Two recent examples of this are : 1) The much debated essence change - this affected the parts of the community that merchant and those that rely on buying their skills and so those people viciously attacked Jagex for "ruining" their game. However, other parts of the community, like myself, who do not merchant or buy their skills were completely unaffected by the change 2) The Construction update - This was a boon to those same merchanters that complained about pure essence as the value of logs increased overnight. However, we also had a part of the community complaining that the skill was expensive and useless. Personally I hate the mini-games and I would like to see all min-games removed. However, I do not whinge and whine and make comments like "what a useless update" when Jagex brings out yet another mini-game update. I am mature enough to respect the fact that other parts of the community like their mini-games. If more people took this attitude then the overall community would be a much better place.

Aquashock - the best place for unicorns is lev 20 Wildy just east of Graveyard of shadows. Normally pkers will leave you alone esp. if you are wearing low spec armour. However, as I am lev 97 combat, I dont bother with armour and use a steel sword to kill them - pker definately do not bother you then.

On the subject of vials it is well worth mentioning that you can get water-filled vials from the water elementals in the elemental workshop. They are a 100% drop. I also disagree with your comment about growing herbs. I find growing herbs to be a very useful way of levelling herblore. I therefore suggest that you include a section on growing herbs and where to obtain the seeds from. Personally I like killing Moss Giants north of Ardougne for seeds as I can level my ranging at the same time.

A bad idea There will always be scammers so long as there are people idiotic enough to fall for the scams. This idea would only add one more way to scam people. In fact it would be the perfect scam. A scammer could give his victim something free and then report them for scamming on the pretence that the item was not paid for. The scammer would then get all the victims bank and the poor person scammed would no way of getting his items back after an appeal (even if that were possible).

I am a scavanger. I hate to see things just lying on the ground, even the most useless of thgings (eg a single bronze arrow) I will pick up. If its no use I simply high-alc it, at least I get a bit of mage exp for it. I must bury bones. Any bone, whatever type, I see lying around ,I bury Like a lot of people I also examine EVERYTHING. I love finding Jagex's jokes and puns. I only wear armour when fighting - most of the time I just wear default clothing and my lucky cape. It is a purple Fremenick Cape I found laying around when I first started playing RS and have kept it ever since. :D

Another useless/pointless fact : Agrophobia is rife among Runescape citizens (ever notice how a lot of Runescape citizens NEVER leave their homes)

Useless skill, and while we rae about it - get rid of the games room, It has no place in an RPG game. If yiou want to play silly games there are plenty of other web sites that contain just those.

I would add two new skills. scamming and begging. Then perhaps the lazy ******* who do not like training skills would stop :P

I agree to apont. However, I think that outside wildy your total skill level should be displayed. Whilst in wildy it should be combat level that is displayed. This would stop all the false reporting of macroing by pures who do not have any combat skills, ie still just lev 3.

The 1st (and second time) I got killed was by the Highwayman near Draynor - you would have thought I would have learnt the first time :lol: And yes, like a previous post I kill him every time I go past - just for old times sake.

Err, yeah it does. I'll bet that more than 90% of the essence autoers are f2p seeing as they have nothing to lose at all if they get banned. That means 0 risk for the autoers as they can just make it again. But if they're forced to upgrade these auto accounts to p2p, they lose 5 bucks and possibly more information from the financial information jagex can receive when they pay for their membership. Hence my comment erarlier on making F2P and P2P completely independent games.

It is very possible to have high levels of non-combat skills and still be a "level 3". You, and the majoritory of people in RS, are forgetting that the level displayed beside a characters name is their COMBAT level, which is only of use in player vs player confrontations, like dueliing and PKing. In my view what should be displayed against your characters name is their total skill level as this would give a better indication of the characters skills.

You don't have to spend weeks mining rocks. The best way to get Pure essence is to either kill Banshees (if your slayer level is high enough) or kill abyss creatures as both of these drop essence in noted form. Doing this will also help your combat skills. My personal favourite is Banshees. However, since the release of pure essence I have noticed a large increase in people at the Banshees. So, it appears that a lot of players have come to the same conclusion as me. On second thought a petition to Jagex would be good, all we need to do is change it to petition Jagex to give more monsters an essence drop (in noted for of course).

Fair enough they have now moved to yews so roll on "pure" yews. In fact even better make f2p and p2p totally separate which will cut off even more of the autoers income, and to be honest will not affect the RS game that much.

I say keep the cap. Logic - some people think merchanting is a skill, so, if that is the case what is the max level for a merchnting skill?- a money cap. Therfore I say keep the money cap until the max limit for skills is raised.

I was wondering are all these (supposedly) innocent players f2p or p2p. If they are p2p then tough, but if they are p2p they may have some legal rights against an unfair ban. After all they have entered into a contract with Jagex. Although taking legal action would seem a bit "over the top".

I always say Hi back to people - its the polite thing to do. However, if they follow up with "free stuff please" they immediately get put on ignore list. Now, when I'm bored I like to select the most crowded world and wander around wildy armed with just an inventory of beer and offering drinks to everyone I see. Needless to say ther's always someone who pks me. I just take their name and PM them afterwards saying I hoped they liked the beer. You should see some of the replies I get, especially if some mage has wasted his precious runes on pking me! As you may have gathered from this I loathe PKers.

My RSN does not have numbers either. I don't actually dislike numbers, but my pet hate is names with multiple spaces in (one is OK) eg "f r e d"

I'm fed up about all this talk of ulterior motives for the essence update. It was to stop essence macroers and will eventually work. I can also see the same principle being applied to other resources in f2p, eg Yews. If a macroer wants to besome a member, good and as someone said more money to Jagex, more and better upgrades to the game (at least the p2p). Howver, forcing macroers to become members will give Jagex more power to permanently ban them. This is because to become a member you have to give legit information. If someone intentionally gives information that is not legit to get into the game, they are comitting a criminal offence for which, theoretically Jagex could prosecute.

OH dear - it seems that I have broken this rule several times today. Why? Because I have felt particularly generous today and have made several gifts to people. Better watch my step :D
