  1. Swap the ACP for sacred clay platebody. Weighs 2kg less + quite a bit more defence
  2. pretty sure he was responding to the argument of "I personally have my tree in Port Sarim. It's there not because I need access to it from the tree network, but so I can access the tree network from there"his point was why grow it at port when you have the GE tree to "access the tree network"i think that is a better and more thoughtful reading of this thread than you gave it. IMHO. Exactly. Thanks. But I expressly said that while I may not have stuff to get to MA, which includes runes and such, I always have my lummy ring. Going to the GE means I have to have a law, fire, and 3 airs. If I want to do a quick bank and I'm stuck without runes, charged, glory, or other teleport means, I have the tree + lummy ring.
  3. ...Why do you need to access it from there? Mobilizing armies teleport, either the spell or the dueling ring teleport, takes you literally directly next to a spirit tree. I agree that the Brimhaven tree is somewhat outdated now, but I'd still argue that there's no better place to put it. Because while I might not always have a dueling ring or some runes on me, I pretty much ALWAYS have my lummy ring. I use my lyre for getting to misc, so that tree is also useless to me. Given all the options, I liked the marginal convenience of the port sarim tree the most. It's quite sad how useless all the spirit trees really are, given that they have such a high requirement and a relatively rare seed. They really need to update their locations/add other benefits.
  4. I personally have my tree in Port Sarim. It's there not because I need access to it from the tree network, but so I can access the tree network from there :shades: But anyway, chipped teletabs are equivalent to the brimhaven spirit tree.
  5. Try the cc "dung smith" or specifically ask for it on w117.
  6. 2H with zerker ring. Rapier is just far too inaccurate and weak and you'll find yourself wanting a better weapon for pretty much any meleeable boss/forgotten warrior. Rapier is only good if you're going for really fast C1 rushes. And why would you want katagon when you can wield gorgonite?
  7. CCwise, assistclan is probably one of the most popular. Otherwise, I've had good success with w148. I'd also say try 117, but leave if you can't find someone within 2-3 mins.
  8. Whoops. I was thinking about...nevermind  But in all melee applications, deflector + barrows gloves is the best combo in almost all situations right?
  9. Edit: Changed things around after Grimy and green pointed out my sillyness  Melee: Barrows Gloves > Rune def in almost every single situation Ranged: Black dhide/ACP > most shields Magic: Um...who uses Void Mage? So other than that, are there any other combinations? And as an aside, is void magic worth getting even with deflector (I'm assuming you'd replace top with Ahrim's)
  10. ...What? Also, out of curiosity, what's anti-strength? The belief that strength is overrated and so it should not be trained. Or something like that.
  11. +1 to the totem for PP since you don't have 99 thieving yet.
  12. Just as an aside, the basics of flipping involves you looking at items that are rising in price, buying them barely above min and selling a bit less than max, right? Like flipping never works on items on their way down, right?
  13. Casting stun on a house elemental is one of the more common methods, but I for one don't like it that much. Compared to something like superheat, it's a lot more click intensive and I think superheat is a better overall gp/xp ratio if you value smithing xp at all. Bursting/barraging lobsters should be at the top of your list. It may be out of your listed price range, but consider going past that listed range.
  14. Sinkhan replied to AirlessWig's topic in Help and Advice
Cballs should never be done for xp or profit unless the only skill you possess is 35 smithing (or whatever the req for cballs is) The only time you should be doing them is if you want to pay almost no attention to the game at all, but still gain some money and xp.
  15. Well he's *only* 4 levels from 100 and the SSH is arguably less rare than the hexhunter.
  16. Well just like with any other weapon in Daemonheim or surface RS, you typically have 3-4 attack styles. Each one will train a particular skill (attack, def, str), and use a particular attack type of the weapon (crush, stab, slash), depending on the weapon. So basically, train strength with your 2h. Should be the top right option (slashing) and the bottom left (crushing). At the very least, you should get level 1 (135 tokens, which is pocket change). Most people agree level 5 is the last level where upgrades are still worth it, but many go up to 7-8.
  17. If they look like a person or were a person at one point, they won't see you. This doesn't count brutes and mysterious shades though. It also doesn't work in the presence of mage users (so make killing them a priority) and bosses (which you should also make killing a priority :P) The spear only for if you don't want to spend any tokens on the zerker class ring, which shouldn't be the case because even level 1 is very useful and costs almost nothing, or you're going be keying. Also if you have 99 attack and you find a primal spear before a primal 2h, that's another situation you'd use it.
  18. Mass a ton of effigies. Get a full set of shattered heart rocks and trade them in when you're ready. The SH rocks won't amount to much, but the effigies work out to be almost 50k ea if used on a 99. Get a bunch of effigies to gorged, and camp out an effigy cc to turn them into lamps. This is a pretty passive process, so as long as whatever xp method you choose to do doesn't require 100% of your attention, you can just wait around until you can get assists. I recommend "assistclan" and "effigies cc" Edit: The vinesweeper suggestion was that you should store some points in the game before you do your XP race and then cash them in for xp when it starts.
  19. Raise: Attack to 45 Str to 85+ Ranged for primary dps, or maybe just to raise constitution Raise magic to 85 for teleblock if you want, otherwise just to 54 just for alching when you're training. Try a cb form for more constitution 13 prayer as a minimum for 10% str prayer (and also to use the lummy ring), probably around 31 prayer for protect item + 15% str pray And the most important thing to allow you set yourself in the upper tiers of PVP: 64-65ish DG: Gravite 2h for KOs. I also think the G2H is higher DPS than a rune scimmy, so just using it normally for the fight might be worthwhiile if you don't care about the repair cost So you can do 1 of 2 builds: 1. Addy plate Addy legs Rune full helm Rune square shield Main weapon is G2H/Rune Scim. The main reason you can't use more rune armour is that you'll risk your G2H at that point. 2. Green d'hide top/bottom Rune full Maple SB + addy arrows for primary DPS Main DPS weapon is MSB, G2H for KO.
  20. Define "tons of cash"? Commenting on a purely marketing view, comared to Sgs, 95 prayer or 85+ herblore, the 26.5m price tag of the resellable dragonfire shield is relatively quite affordable. Going from 81->85 cost 29mil using anti-fire (4599*6490). Getting 95 prayer will cost over 100mil without even calclating. Non-refunable of cause. Resellable when it's clearly been dropping for the past few months. While 95 pray maybe not be refundble, the utility of turmoil + soul split is far greater than that of the DFS.
  21. super anti-fire need 85lv And I'm saying that he should get them. If he has the 40ish mil for the SGS, that's definitely enough for 85 herby. (84 if he just uses greenman's ale, now if he just stews). I know he said that he doesn't want to spend it on skills right now, but just waiting around, using the money to flip, and then training herblore when he does feel like it would be better choice imo. You could also try and go for broke and get the requirements for the elite seers diary for EEE (400 HP heal pl0x)
  22. If you don't have claws/EE, get them If you don't have a rune def/super antifires, get them. And now you've pretty much gotten rid of the need for a SGS/DFS.
  23. As a bit of an aside, do visible boosts like ranging potions, invisible boosts like ranged prayers, and equipment boosts like FSH/void affect the cannon?
  24. Hm, I was maybe going to suggest abby specs in the Desert Slayer dungeon, but you need a rather high CB for Smoking Kills you'd also need the slayer helmet.
  25. Are you also 1 def?
