  1. If you use a herring (either raw or cooked) with a normal tree, instead of the usual "nothing interesting happens" message you get the message "this is not the mightiest tree in the forest"...this is a monty python reference btw
  2. Right half of dragon square shield is 750k (worth more than left half now :? ), and a new crystal bow is 900k, so the magic stone doesn't actually beat it by much. It does beat it though...
  3. I agree 100%, and the worst part of it is, tons of noobs (and some others who I just don't understand :-k ) think it looks great and wear it everywhere...it almost made me quit (ok, ok, not really, not even close, it would take far more than an extremely ugly helmet and tons of noobs to make me quit, but still, I hate it)
  4. You do know that Swiftswitch is available through Zybez as well, right? In fact, since Zybez was relaunched, RSC is now essentially Zybez forums, just like these are Tip.it forums. Anyway, SwiftSwitch is trustworthy, though I prefer firefox :D Note to admins: I can't see the new poll, it still has the "how do you pick what world you play on" poll on my screen...not sure why this is, but it might be more than just me
  5. I first discovered Runescape from Miniclip.. :? Doesn't mean Stilev's statement isn't true in general. And, while that situation doesn't really warrant reporting (I know you were joking), anyone who believes that reporting is for noobs either breaks rules :? or is a noob :P
  6. Construction Capes of Achievement Miscellania Update
  7. All ss did for getting in world 2 was kept trying for you, instead of you having to keep trying. Of course, I still greatly preferred just bookmarking world 2 in internet explorer  Unfortunately, the bookmark doesn't work in firefox, so whenever I have to go to world 2 I have to stop using it :? And your comment about Strider was completely uncalled for, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with making a 3rd party world switching client before the rule update today, and ss was a great, safe program that lots of people used. *EDIT* LOL I didn't even notice the guy before me posted just about the same thing...still, banning 3rd party clients is a right JaGEx has, but that doesn't mean the people who created them when they were legal are all evil... :shame:
  8. The quest cape is sort of in a different category, since for one thing having a quest cape and a skill cape doesn't count as having 2 skill capes for getting it trimmed. Also, I think that getting a quest cape takes longer than getting some skills (cooking/fletching/firemaking/thieving (pyramidal plunder ftw)), it's just that doing quests is more fun. I agree that tons of people have quest capes (including me... quests), but quests aren't really the same as skills and this is a discussion of *skill* capes.
  9. Very nice song, it worked out nicely, evil bob is of course everyone's FAVORITE random (sarcasm)... Oh, and it's actually JaGEx, not JaGex...
  10. Actually you can't...though the fact that it's 2^31-1 and not 2^32-1 gold pieces does not invalidate your argument. 2.147483647 billion gold pieces is would still take a lot more space than a dagger. Though, I'd rather carry that many gold pieces than that many pieces of paper, or runes :D
  11. I have 3 or 4...got one out of my first ever birds nest, was really disappointed when I found out they were untradable. Gotten the rest off MTK...I love MTK!!
  12. My friend was raving about WOW, so I went and downloaded it for the 10-day free trial...I played it for 3 or 4 days before I got bored and went back to runescape. It's got very nice graphics, and once you get into a clan it could have very engaging combat (I got bored before then though), but still, RS is about so much more than combat...I've played rs for slightly over 4 years now, and I don't see myself quitting anytime soon, that's how good it is. Any comparison in these stupid videos on YouTube is bound to leave WOW the winner, because on the surface it's a much better game, however when all you see is a (biased) few minutes, the dominating factor is obviously going to be the graphics. Also, I like the fact that I can play rs wherever I am, with no download (unless the comp is missing java, then I do a quick java download), whereas a game like WOW has hefty system requirements. Based on all the "Runescape sucks" comments I've seen by WOW players, I've come to believe that a lot more immature people play WOW as well. During my few days of trying it, some guy got mad at me, and, when I beat him like 3x in a row when he dueled me, he decided to kill the monster I needed to kill for a quest over and over so I couldn't complete the quest. That would be impossible in Runescape, which is just another thing it has over games like WOW.
  13. Lol, I just thought that that was the worst piece of good luck I've ever had...cuz it was useless...and the clue gave junk :( Oh well, alching a clue and telling people that was funny, they all thought I was crazy until I explained.
  14. Lol, this was really funny, I was at cave horrors trying to get black masks and clues, and a cave horror dropped a clue. I figured I'd kill the other horror currently after me before it picked me up, and THAT ONE DROPPED A CLUE TOO!! Well, it would only let me pick up one, so I looked at them both, decided which one I'd rather do, and alched the other one just for kicks...it alchs for 0 gp by the way.
  15. You probably shouldn't say the majority of players are, it's just that most of the ones we remember are :D
  16. Agreed...Chinchompas are one of the worst weapons in the game, but they are fun to use :D
  17. In my opinion, the question is kinda skewed, since from my experience it's significantly faster to get money by merchanting and then spend the money on fast skilling than it is to just skill for no gain / loss and never merchant. I personally would choose the path of the merchant, though I'm not sure if I would end up keeping everything or spending it on skills. My point is the best way IMO to progress down either path is by merchanting.
  18. I thought it was a bit of a letdown, it seemed to me like it was more of a filler article to give the editor a break than anything...When I read the title and then started reading it I was getting ready to read a really interesting article, and then it was...just ok..... My complaint isn't so much that the article was BAD (it was decent) but that the idea had a potential to be SO MUCH MORE!
  19. Seen this guy on RSOF: Fuh Q Zack None of mine are very interesting lol
  20. ^From front page when they announced the article^ So yeah, you can't rely on any of that being reliable information. And yeah, revealing who the editor is would net them unable to ever have their private chat on, which would be such a pain...
  21. I've seen some posts (that Mod Craddock replied favorably to) on the High Level Content sticky in Suggestions on RSOF about being able to make fireworks to use/sell at higher levels, to make it a more profitable skill...who knows, it might happen.
  22. There are higher level monsters in Desert Treasure and Legends, which have both been completed by people in the 50s...so I don't know what your problem with the Sea Snake is, I found it to be an extremely underwhelming boss...but I was in the mid-90s at the time.
  23. A lvl 50 might be capable of doing all quests, but if you add up all the exp rewards from the quests I think you will find that they would end up over lvl 50.
  24. Yeah, I'd guess the first one is Photoshop and the second one is Paint...big difference in the software contributing to the very different styles. "Niles and Me" was by far the best IMO
  25. That's impossible, just look at the requirements for some quests, for example legends requires 56 magic, no way anyone can do them all with 20 cb. On a separate note, one of my goals right now is to do legends before cb 50, that account is f2p at the moment, has completed all free quests (d slayer took me from 1 to 33 defense :wall: lol), and based on the combat calculator I can do legends at 49 if the monsters I have to kill for required quests don't get my hp from the 20 it is at now past 37 or 38. Anyway, when I make my goal it'll probably be in the goals/achievements thread, but I just wanted to point out all quests is not in any way even remotely possible at cb 20, the rewards from quests will give you more than that. *EDIT* Oops I guess this is quite an old thread...sorry if I wasn't supposed to bump such an old thread...
