Germans claim to have broken the speed of light.
It's also really hard to believe that an electron takes an infinite number of paths before arriving at it's destination, or that it's actually possible for us to walk straight through a brick wall. Physics is just weird that way. You can't always rely on what you see in your everyday life to tell you all the answers :P .

Not to complain, heck its your sig, but I just want to point out... how is "I attempted to do alchemy" something you really like? Or is it something your just really proud of? Eh, it's more of a "I love Fullmetal Alchemist" thing than anything else, for me anways :P . "Attempting alchemy" is not something I like or am proud of, it just shows my obsession over the anime and manga :P . She was probably just going to explain her reasoning for such a statement to Ash, considering the fact that it's admitting to not want to keep all the work went through to get into Harvard. I can see what you're getting at, and I guess it drops it down to 98%, but I'm pretty sure you know she wouldn't want even consider asking Ash to do something that he considers a living Hell, just to keep her company. She's too kind a character to want to even mention (even indirectly) an idea like that to Ash. It'd basically come off as, "I know this whole identity crisis is a living Hell for you, but can you do it permanently so I can be a little more happy?" The lost 2% is open for other possiblities of where she was going to go with that (based on your valid point that she would just be repeating herself, so she might say something else), but after Ash's reaction ("what!?") to her statement the odds that she would feel a need to explain herself are too high for me to bet against. So, I believe she was going to explain why she didn't want to get the two years back, and that's what I'm sticking to :P . God, now I'm feeling nostalgic about being on Fullmetal Alchemist forums debating and predicting what's going to happen next in the manga -_-'. Geez, you're not kidding. It's in practically everyone's sig o-O. I put the blame solely on you :P (by my counts were up to about nine people) Pfft, you would :P . [it's your fault.]

You must tell me the book  the elegant universe by Brian Greene. Mentioned it in one of my previous posts (if not the post you quoted), it's about 400 pages long, and explains things very well for those who aren't exactly experts at mathematics or physics. Heck, I barely understood general relativity before I read the book, but now I've got all the basics of general relativity and quantum mechanics down (thanks to great usages of metaphors and analogies), and I understand a great deal more about the universe, especially if Superstring theory turns out to be completely proven correct some day. No. Guys, this isn't time travel. It's just experiencing time at different rates.

Random things you have always wanted to know
Honestly, if you can pass the ball, you're fine. But I think you're just being overcritical of yours. Either that, or you're playing with manchester united in your practice sessions. :-k Err... not really. You need to be tactically capable (very important to have the all the basic stuff subconsiously implanted, so you have time to think about the more advanced tactics), you need to be aware of the entire field ,all the time, you need to have good endurance, you need to be able to read people, and, especially on offense, you need to have skill with keeping the ball close to you and using moves quickly and effectively. Can't forget shooting, using the body to defend and attack, knowing where to be before you need to be there, positioning yourself properly in the way to help the team the most, etc. So, it's not just "passing the ball" :| . Played for over a decade myself, so I really can't get why you don't think you got better. Did you play with people far below your skill level, your entire life? 'Cause every moment of games and practices you're learning, both subconsciously and consciously. Honestly, if you explained an offensive move to me with words I wouldn't be able to tell you how to stop it, but if you tried and do the move on me I'd be able to react to it and stick you into the ground after playing most of my soccer career as an outside defender, (unless we're talking college level moves). That's not something you learn out of a book, it's just something that happens the more you play. You seriously don't think you improved significantly after 11 years? Why?

Dear Lord one would hope so.

Germans claim to have broken the speed of light.
Well, it's not really "going to the future", it's more of experiencing time at a slower rate. According to general relativity, all things in motion experience time at varying rates. Basically, the faster you move, the less you experience time, and the slower you move the more you experience it. This is because the four dimensions that we experience and can see (can't see the six smaller ones) are intertwined- the more you move in the three spacial dimensions, the less you do in the time dimension. That's why photons don't age. Because they're moving at the speed of light, all their movement is in the three spacial dimension, and none of it is in the time dimension. Of course, to actually notice this effect you'd have to be moving at a decent fraction of the speed of light, and thus would probably require a spaceship for such a feat (which is why we don't really notice the effects of general relativity here on earth, we just aren't moving fast enough). It feels like you're "going into the future" because when you get out of the space ship traveling at sub-light speed, time outside of the spaceship has been experienced much faster by those that did not travel in the spaceship. You know all that Sci-Fi stuff about people traveling through space and returning to their homeworld only to find that all the people they knew are already very aged, or even dead? Ya, that's what this stuff is. If you guys are more interested in general relativity and physics in general, I'd reccommend an elegant universe by Brian Greene (which I'm sure I've mentioned before). It spends the first few chapters explaining the basics of general relativity and quantum mechanics, and goes on to explain Superstring theory (in great detail), hidden dimensions, black holes, spacetime, the basics of everything and anything you'd want to know about theoretical (and experimental somewhat) Physics. If you like science at all, read the book. Wow, I never even thought about that. I understand what you said and yet I'm even more confused now. Because he's, to put it bluntly, wrong. I've got to go (and I'm pissed about having to retype the above response since I accidentally pasted over it when I meant to copy it), so I'll make this quick: You'd experience time slower as you approach the speed of light, so you'd never actually reach it, now matter how close to it you get. You can't pass the speed of light, because you'd lose so much from the time dimension as you closed in on the speed that you'd never reach it; you can get to 99.99...999% of the speed of light, but it's not possible to actually reach it, because you wouldn't experience time at all if you did. I repeat guys: you can't surpass the speed of light. And for the record, you don't need to pass it to experience time slowing down. Every movement you make slows down your movement through time, even if only a very unnoticable small amount. Trust me guys. Buy the book- it's very enlightening.

I can verify trapical's point that they would lose their memories from readin the "Ask Ash" section of the site, which repeatedly mentions that they would lose their memories if the files were fixed. Geez, you're not kidding. It's in practically everyone's sig o-O. Nah, I'd put $100 bucks against that (especially since that hypothesis seems to contradict itself in the second sentence :P ). She's still confused about the gender situation, and with her chactersitics (low self esteem, etc.), I doubt she'd confront Ash that early about it, especially when it could mess with the situation a great deal. Most likely she was going to say "I've been thinking a lot and... I'm not sure I want to go back to my old life." With the whole "near death incident", and the fact that she's having doubts about just living her life studying (a lot of which has been very recent), and with the way she phrased the beginning of the sentence I find the odds that she was going to say that she doesn't want to go back to her old life 70% or more. Read back through the previous comic pages, she's been having a lot of second thoughts about her old life, and I'm sure she wouldn't want to forget Ash (as a friend or otherwise). Not sure if that's what NOM was thinking as well, but that's my hypothesis. Screw 70%+, checked the data again and I'm up to 100%: [hide=Spoiler][/hide] She's not even sure she's even in the closet :| . [sorry, post saving habit again.]

Corrupt a Wish (IT's over Nine Thousand)
Kimblee, aka "The Crimson Alchemist", a State Alchemist and skilled bomb forger grants your wish for me... by turning you yourself into a bomb using the chemicals in your body as material for a transmutation. Yes, he's done it in the anime (and manga), too many times to count  . He generally used the sulfer in your body as the main material for his human bombs :P . I wish I could control carbon in such a way to naturally form diamond by manually creating the tetrahedran formations between the carbon atoms :D .

Random things you have always wanted to know
Dense deep clouds exhibit a high reflectance (70% to 95%) throughout the visible range of wavelengths: they thus appear white, at least from the top. Cloud droplets tend to scatter light efficiently, so that the intensity of the solar radiation decreases with depth into the cloud, hence the gray or even sometimes dark appearance of the clouds at their base. Easy as cake. Geez, you responded to that weeks ago, and I'm only noticing is just now after it was bumped up... man I've got to work on my awareness :-w . Thanks a ton for the answer, that's always bugged the hell out of me for some reason. Q2:If someone is imperfect, is it possible for them to view something as anything but imperfect, even if they're observing something that truely is perfect?

^Now it's a quadfecta...or whatever. I'm also going to donate a few bucks as well, not like I spend it on anything anyways :-# Heh, not to sound arrogant or anything (though I'm sure this does), but I'm starting to feel like a signature virus  . Of course, all credit goes to trapical for forcing half of Tip.it to go and spend five hours reading Misfile :P . EDIT: Which is why it sounds arrogant :P . The Sig Rating Game
7/10 Looks really cool, but sadly I don't really follow halo :P >_<. Oh, and flying death bomb, the text in our sigs are getting.. uh... mirrorish o_O. Bonus points for the Alchemy addition of course =P~ . Dunno if referencing 642 seems very appropriate though (even if the person clicking on it has read the comic), as the comic really has little to do with that kind of material :-k .

Quote frenzy, made to order: That line was hilarious for some reason. It was hilarious because even though he's right and I agree with him (the main reason I read is to see how their relationship is going to work out), it's unheard of for a guy to say "the girl on girl action is not what interests me" :XD: . Actually, 768, 769 tomorrow  . Already had a pm chat with hellbellz on this one- check the archive, and click on the last page in Book 7, which is 768. It should lead to the url address that has 796; it's off (due to fixing errors I hypothesized). Just makin' sure you got the numbers straight and seperated :P . Oh, no, way more than 120 hours total dude :P . As sad as it is, I must quote Emily on this one: That made less than no sense. Trust me, the comics kind of addictive... *high fives Rebdragon* I have been waiting to use that line in RL :D *high fives trapical* Wait, how the hell did we just high five via internet forum? This could be vital information for my development of a device that allows one to punch others over the internet... Okay, Fullmetal Alchemist is on. Must leave... for now o_o.

Absolute Zero
It requires very specific reactions and conditions for matter to become energy; it's not exactly something you see every day (so no, all matter is not going to become energy [until end of the hypothesized Big Crunch anyways], even if it's possible it's source is really a string of raw energy). For example, I remember hearing that specific nuclear reactions within the sun can turn hydrogen atoms into useable energy, if I recall correctly :-k . Not exactly an earthly reaction. The same thing goes for that example- those kind of temperatures aren't exactly commonly found in the universe :-w . Or, really, at all :P . Oh, and dang Planck's got a lot of crud named after him...

My very odd nightmare including tip.it!
if that were real, I would proclaim tipit god. How about we start a petition for that to happen? and for regular porn too!! I would have to declare tip.it a complete failure for doing that. I'll have to second the motion. Oh, and it's becoming very apparent that this thread doesn't seem to have any real potential to get past the "this should be locked" threshold anymore :| .

God, you all know the feeling where you write a well thought out and lengthy response, but the internet connection gets messed up while posting, and you lose the post? Usually I copy a post before a hit submit, but this time I forgot, and I lost the whole response to your post, Bludragon -__-". Pretty much kills any and all drive to try and respond again, at least for me. I'll just make it short and sweet, if you don't mind: You're thinking of manga, the comic book version and source of most, if not all, anime. It's the proper Japanese parallel, not anime. Even then, this is far from manga and anime. It's not even in Nihongo/kana. That's why you don't like manga/anime, but liked this comic- they're too completely different things. So your post is the farthest thing form making sense that it can get :P .

What am i going to do with my life?
Can you explain what about the jobs and our culture you don't like? Figuring that out seems to be the biggest thing you need to do (or explain) before you can either a)find a way around it or b)get over it. And what are your strengths/what are your interests?

Weight Gain...again...
I hope you guys no how many people on this forum are going to want to punch you for these posts o_o. Being a teenager my metabolism's fast as well, but geez guys... "weight-gain pills" C'mon, you're joking. Like everyone's beem saying, frikking eat more. And just a small hint of advice (if you guys really have small stomachs, I don't eat much myself either, but I don't feel some need to gain weight), try actually waking up before one in the afternoon, you'll have more room for food if you're all really so desperate to put the pounds on.

Why Macros are HELPING the RS economy...
-__-" And that's the kind of emotionally driven "argument" that steers you away from the cold hard facts and data (I'd guess that you're not a pker or skiller offhandedly). They bring in raw materials for people to use... what, are you saying the economy is dead because you don't like macroers, or because it makes some achievement you have seem less cool? Please, get past your emotions and look at the emperical evidence, then make a decision as to whether or not they help or damage the economy. Either way, it's hard to define "helping the economy", considering the fact that there aren't really any other economies to compare Runescape to or compete with. As long as all the gp in the game isn't suddenly deleted, or unless there's some major and damaging deflation, nothing can really hurt this economy- it's so self correcting, and from what I've read here you all seem to think it's really all just based on player happyness, not the actual state of the economy, which is what we should be arguing in my opinion. Though personally, as long as prices of raw materials aren't absurdly low (like 10gp each for Yew logs) or absudely high, and as long as there is enough gp in the game to go around (which is guarenteed by the existence of Alchemy), there's really no "improving" or "damaging" the economy, just changes that benefit certain groups over others (raw material gatherers vs. buyers, skillers vs. combatants, etc.). Would anyone care to disagree?

Weight Gain...again...
I dunno really, maybe leg lifts during soccer practices, though I don't know the muscles that helps (I swear, we spent half the practice on those damn exercises...). But when I did some back exercises when we started training (lower body on bench, facing down, upper body hanging over end, lift upper body up with someone sitting on your legs) my dad said I had some of the best back muscles he'd ever seen, and he's got the best core muscles in the neighborhood, so he knows what he's talking about when it comes to working out. Got a list of methods that train the back? I might have actually done one a fair amount without knowing which muscles it was supposed to train, I'm not exactly what you'd call an expert on the subject -_-'.
