Go back to English class and learn what "metaphor" and "figurative speech" mean. Er, it can be wider or longer, the dimensions of the boat can be changed easily (i.e., it's not "the perfect size, it's just one of the many that works)... I really have no idea where you're going with this. How does this prove God :| ? I repeat dude, Story of Gilgamesh. The story was created way before the idea of the current Christian God. I was expressing that I actually have some understanding of the book, not that I believe it. Did you know that, or do you just have creationist parents spitting random bologna out to you at dinner? I guess you understand evolution is a fact now. Just guessing from the fact that I didn't see a rebuttal. If you don't believe it, give me a good counter argument. If you do, just admit it and move on, it's not exactly a bad thing to admit that you think a fact is probably true.
  2. Yes, we are so joining up with Mexico :| . That still sound ludicrous to anyone else? Take everything you hear with a grain of salt dude, especially that conspiracy-driven Zeitgeist movie.
  3. Oh c'mon guys, lay off. I'd never heard of this before, and it's pretty interesting o_O. Thanks for posting it.
  4. Most Gauche Topic of the Month award  . I mean, I'd like to think this is unique and very much related to relationships... but it's just weird :| .
  5. Can't... think of anything, besides generic monsters and ghosts surprising the #@%$ out of me. Maybe roller coasters, not really a fan of 'em. Or becoming paralyzed from the waste down- if I couldn't move or use my legs I'd go insane. I'd rather go deaf or blind than be paralyzed from the waste down. That, or having my Fullmetal Alchemist [and/or anime] taken away :ohnoes: .
  6. Er, not much there. .9/10? Tip.it needs more Anime fanatics... *fears rating by the non-anime absorbed majority*. As a general statement, if you don't watch or read: Fullmetal Alchemist. You will not get the image. And if you do not watch/read: Fullmetal Alchemist (basic understanding of characters) Bleach (character used isn't a main one, but she's got pink hair and she's two feet tall...) Death Note (only requires a very basic understanding- death note, write someone's name in it, person written in it dies, and Shinigami own death notes...) , or at least 2 of those, you will not get the statement -_-'. Call it an inside joke. I can explain it, but I warned ya.
  7. I just like the athletic and intelligient ones. Dunno why, but those are my only big pre-requisites I've got. She don't got to be super funny, she doesn't have to love parties, she doesn't have to be the next top Chef, just athletic and intelligient :) . Kind weird with the whole "opposites attract" thing, since those two characteristics are my only good qualities >_<. Don't really have any general appearance preferences that most people don't have... green eyes are nice though 8-) (we'd match :o).
  8. Why the heck is water transparent in all it's forms, yet suddenly becomes opaque and white when in cloud form? Still don't get that.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you physical evidence that post count in no way correlates to intelligience, maturity, or veneration. Here's why. ... EVOLUTION IS A FACT. Souce I have to frikkin' repost. ... The Bible never says evolution is wrong, hell, it doesn't even infer that. I repeat, the Bible does not contradict evolution. Ya'll just assume that it does, especially when you read it in such a literal sense. I spent seven years studying the damn thing, it doesn't contradict evolution, ever. God can have created the heavens, created the universe, and created us. But what's so wrong about him using the mechanism of evolution to do it? Seriously? What? ... Your "facts" and "proof" of God is the Story of Noah, which is really nothing more than a regurgatation of the Story of Gilgamesh? C'mon dude. You can do better than that. ... "People lived for 900+ years (maxing at 962 I believe, with Methuselah holding the Guinness record) but if you don't believe it"... what? If I don't believe it what? Don't tell me you take that literally, do you? People living 900+ years before the flood? Average lifespan increases as time passes, not the other way around dude -__-". ... Oh, and yes, it is called faith for a reason- it's illogical belief that requires no proof. You don't have proof, so go fall back on faith please, for both our's and Christianity's sake. ... Oi, sorry. My inside voice never got through in the past, so I thought I'd try my outside voice this time -_-'. [The ellipses were just me trying to calm down as I fumed over that... "post", if it even deserves such a title. At least type properly please, and try not to contradict yourself by using "faith" and "proof" in the same sentence. Cheers.]
  10. naughty boy :shame: Oh get off it, that title wasn't intentional :P ? Very odd, perplexing stories :-k . Amy doesn't seem like all that valuable of a responder, especially with that comparison to a thirty-year old man. For one thing, men don't exactly have something to hide in the chest region, and for another young guys actually like seeing female adults, unlike the vice-versa scenario :| . Amy couldn't think of anything to say, so she just went to the general societal method of switching the genders, which is, in all honesty, a bullcrap answer. If I were the dad I'd talk to the boys about it, ask why they're hitting "more foul balls than usual", maybe give 'em a lecture about privacy and personal space, but if no one's getting hurt drastic measures need not be taken.
  11. So guna send this to Laikrob...
  12. yea seriously....i scored a 10....every answer was a no... this quiz isnt very good im just being realistic... we wont have world hunger stopped, and global warming will continue to get worse.,...so thanks for telling me what i all ready knew, im a realist. There's a difference between being a pure pessimist and being a realist. Especially in your case, where you just answered with a blatant "no" to everything to try and keep your little persona of being the ultimate pessimist. I.e. (just to make a point), I just took the "test" and got a 24. I'm a pessimist, but you gotta be realistic on some of these questions, look at trends, technological advances, etc... it's just not a good test, and getting a 10 is not realistic... it's just one's own idealistic image of being a pessimist. Again, this test is crap.
  13. Ex-player buddy, not non-player. Get the phrasing right, and then you might see how valuable your post really is. And everyone referencing MEP and maybe one or two other hard quests involving puzzles- sure, some might be difficult, but the vast majority of the game, if not all of what you are not mentioning, is painfully easy and dull [until you get into PvP, bu that's not a measure of how hard to beat the game is, but of how difficult to beat your opponent is]. I mean, I've fallen asleep with my eyes open while DK'ing. This is not a game for the advanced mind, it is a game for the simple one, no matter how the community is shaped. The game design is just so basic, so easy, so... PG, that it would be ludicrous to call this a game for anything past a teenager, and the only reason they're included is because they actually have an attention span, unlike little kids. Oh, and yes, the first time I went into the DK's I didn't even know what the place looked like, didn't even use a guide, and I was perfectly fine- and that was back in the day where the quota was to use rune armor and God Spells. This game isn't hard. Can you really prove that it, as a whole, is?

Oi, you misunderstood the statement. For all we know, a crazed sugar-hyped gerbil could have created our planet, and Ra could be flying around up by the sun using an alien cloaking device to hide himself. Does the evidence point towards those two statements being true? No. But you can't prove a negative, and you can't ever know absolute truth, or "the Truth". That's what they're saying- all facts, not just the fact of evolution, are not absolute from human perspective. So yes, "FACT=not absolute". Come again? As I already said, your getting tied up in the phrasing. By the human definition of the word, it is in fact a fact. But in a realistic sense of the word, nothing is a fact if you use the definition of "absolute truth". Understand? I don't really want to get into yet another 30 page long Evolution vs. Creationist debate, I just want you to understand what they're saying when they say it isn't "absolute truth", that's all. Please, I know it's a pain and a lot of reading, but read through the article, especially the end [which repeats the point I'm making]. Trust me, everything your nit-picking about is talked about in the article, full response and all. I'll even give you the excerpt that explains my point, if you don't want to go through the whole thing:
  15. You raise a valid point :-k . Damnit, guess I made the mistake of trying to intervene while two people incessantly berate eachother for no apparent reason :-w . Still it'd be nice if one of you dropped it to avoid a two-and-a-half-going-to-be-deleted-anyway "debate". Eh, it'd be the mature thing to do anyways :-w .
  16. It's more of a point about flaunting one's ego and attacking people you'll never meet in your life, not a statement concerning intellectual discussion. Either way, you're thread jacking for no logical reason whatsoever, other than a short temper and a risible need to heighten yourself above other forum goers. Wake up on the wrong side of the bed or something? "I hope this meeting's completely messed up"? You have no idea who he is, and yet you're wishing something so puerile? That's rich buddy.

Cup of tea, anyone? Evolution is a mother-frikking fact. Source.Atheism has nothing to do with it. Gravity is a fact. The theory of gravity tries to explain it. Evolution is a fact. The theory of evolution tries to explain it. Understand :| ? It's all in the source link, trust me, read it. [ugh, see, this is why I prefer agnosticism- you don't have to deal with all this supernatural #*&$.]
  18. I hate to bring it up on an internet forum, and I'll never bring it up again, but you obviously havn't heard this saying: Seriously. Talking about how great you are in a setting where you're completely anonymous isn't exactly a valuable use of time. I'll leave the responses involving the hypocrisy in your post for someone else, I'm too lazy to cover it right now.
  19. I played Piano for five years. Hated it. Don't remember a thing. So...uh.... moral. Stick to it, cause if you stop, it's unlikely that you'll start again, and if you get lazy with the learnin's it ain't gunna help ya. Keep with it, and practice often, not just ten minutes before the weekly session starts :-w .
  20. Oh man, I didn't really look at the quiz, but I just did a quick run through: Apparently one gets 5 optimist points for believing that global warming will stop within our life time. Optimist. Seriously, no one else catch that?
  21. People sometimes have characteristics that they do not know they have, or understand. Knowing whether one is a pessimist or optimist is not one of them. This quiz is crap. Oh, and congratulations on scoring an 8 on your own quiz when you set the minimum score to be 10.
  22. I'm not sure if this is strange on the level everyone else is talking (^ o_O?), but I've played soccer games in the morning where it was so foggy I couldn't see halfway across the field, let alone see the opponents' goal. There was no way to switch the ball 'cause the fog made it impossible to see anything beyond 50 meters away, and everything that wasn't within ten meters was fairly blurred by the mist. Quite an intense game when you're completely blind o_O.
  23. Woke up... late. Did some work-related stuff. Read da papah. Fixed the filter pump for the pool. Damn dogs fill it with so much hair. Cleaned out the garage. Watched an episode of Death Note at http://www.deathnote.tv Played some video games, did some summer reading. Watched... Naruto o-O. Randomly did some tricking practice: handstands, frontflips, kip-ups, hand springs, etc. Watched One Piece, lifted weight and worked on abs while I watched. Am about to go watch Bleach, see how badly it's dubbed (okay, it's not dubbed badly, it just kind of makes the people who've heard the japanese voices cringe). And Tip.it and Youtube thrown in randomly throughout the day. Then sleep... mebe.
  24. [/url] lol Jiraiya and thats kinda off topic Nah, it's an example of what you'll be like if you follow k_i_d's advice :P . I mean, when is he not studying women :-w ?
