  1. The Runescape "economy" can not and will not ever crash.
  2. Your team is a unit. If someone messes up, it is the teams job to make up for the blunder. It isn't Jagex's job to eliminate every any and all forms of competition between teams. It isn't Jagex's job to make Castle Wars a single-minded rush-the-flag-whenever-you-want-because-there-are-no-consequences-game. The team messes up, it's YOUR problem as much as it is anyone elses. So stop making excuses like "oh, it's unfair, flagholders are immortal!". I'm a mere level 99, and I've torn through countless flagholding defenses like they were swiss cheese. With the proper equipment, namely ancients, flagholders are not that hard to take down to resume play. So, can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.
  3. It better as hell not... I use it on my bangs every day <_<.
  4. Started freshman year... so I played for a little over two years.
  5. Well, it was right on the SAT-finger thing for me. I just got my scores back, and my Math score was 90 higher than my verbal :-k .
  6. How far to the side can you push your [lower] legs while you're doing that? 'Cause to be honest, if your calfs are right next to your body, that's a pretty easy thing to do :| . Me, I can do it with my calfs right next to me, but it gets pretty difficult when I try to push them outward >_<.
  7. Well, you are looking around in General P2P for threads you know :-w .
  8. I thought everyone could do that, it's basically how one purposely blurries their vision (though you can see things are vibrating, and not blurry, if you're eyes are right next to what you're viewing). Oh well, if it's weird, I can do it I guess. I can... crack my neck at will. Though, I can only crack it by turning my head left. My neck just stretches if I go right :-k . do a one-handed handstand. do flat-ground front flip. crack my toes. do... basic gymnastics stuff. climb up one of those doorway width passages and alleys (if any alley of such width exists). You know, like when you put your hands on one surface, feet on the opposite, and scoot up. No idea how common that is though :-k . Heck, bet most people can do it :-# . That's called a tripod. When you learn handstands, you start off by moving to a tripod, then you go to a handstand. As you progress you eventually learn how to do a handstand without using a tripod.
  9. Does anyone else find it funny that most of the people on this thread seem to have a feeling that they're "above" Runescape players, even though they play themselves? Eh, that's the vibe I'm getting from a great deal of the posts on this thread :-k .
  10. How many times does this need to be said? Stop thinking so much. It's Runescape. I mean, you guys are drowning this forum in paranoia.
  11. I'd like to start off by saying that I'm sorry if it seemed like I spoke in an absolute about kid's having opinions of less value. My point was that 99% of the time the adult is going to have the more trustworthy opinion, and I simply forgot to put the world "generally" in my point. Kids in rare cases or child-based subjects can have opinions of higher value than an adult (again, marketing research by asking kid's opinions on products), but in most scenario's anyone with half a brain would be inclined to believe the adult. Yes, and then you went on to say that higher opinion=superior person. I never said that, you just assumed it randomly. Don't avoid the issue dude; I'd like to debate with straight up answers please. If you think you were wrong about saying higher opinion=superior person, admit it and move on. If you think you were right, defend your argument. I'm just curious (in no way condescendingly), why do you believe that a higher opinion automatically makes a person be of higher value as a human being? And.... let's see your next response. I suppose I would too.... Contradiction party :-k  . That's not a maturity thing. That's a OMG-Jagex-no-want-get-sued! thing. There you go, another anomaly (though, if the child seemed definite in their opinion and the adult didn't, I may go with the child on that one). 99 times out of 100 though, the adult's guna be the one with more knowledge about the subject. Now, age isn't the only factor. Say, the child just did a project on the sun (which is the only possible way that kid'd even be able to retain that figure...). Unless the adult was an astronomer or a fairly knowledgable person, I wouldn't be surprised if I was inclined to go with the child's opinion. See my last point (below). The insults are cute by the way, but they're getting old. "I mightaswell", but I won't, because people are equal no matter what they're opinions are. Stop jumping to conclusions and thinking that I'm saying things that I'm not. It's like you're arguing with yourself here. They're thoughts don't mean "nothing", they're just less likely to be correct when compared to that of someone with more experience with the subject at hand. Again, stop jumping to conclusions. I do. See below. Hell yes it's a factor. You're argument succeeds in informing us that it isn't the only factor, for everything we experience in life is technically a factor in regards to maturity. Nonetheless, lifespan is by far the strongest factor when comparing the maturity of peoples. What you are giving us to "disprove" this fact are mere rare anomalies where certain aspects of peoples' lives have caused them to mature faster, that's all. Again, if I may reiterate: Age/lifespan are not the only factor when it comes to maturity, but it is by far the strongest factor. "Don't bother replying" :-s ?

I actually don't. The "dragon" at the end of my name keeps me from using it in most other places, but "Reb" is just too short not to be taken sometimes (generally being a misspelling of Red >_>.) That, and Reb is only three letters, so it's not long enough in plenty of places. Basically, I'm stuck with "Rebdragon", and the more I use it the more I become attached to it, but I want to change it... I'd just do "Reb", but I already explained why I can't... god, and I love the name "reb" too -.-. Basically just digging my own hole, deeper and deeper >_<.
  13. I actually don't follow Lost, not enough free time+ soccer practice on the night it's on #-o . The Locke I was referring to was a poster on this forum who seems to like attacking people and their logic a little too much, I just don't want you to sound like him. Ya, I don't even know who Locke is on Lost :XD: .
  14. Chimpanzee Ninjutsu?
  15. Hehe, good way of putting it :-k . Realistically though, with no intervention, at the rate that rares are "dissappearing" nowadays it would take centuries for there to be no rares in circulation. That's why I based my point on a "Jagex intervention- eliminate all rares" rather than a "maybe some day the rares will die out on their own..." 'cause honestly, to your point, at the rate they're leaving the economy the slowness of their departure would make their effect on the economy barely visible. I know that- it's pretty simple logic, not really worth debating. Again, that's why I chose the "one second they're gone" approach, since we can get some actual discussion out of that :P . Note: Try not to sound like Locke in your posts. Starting out with "that is nowhere near a valid argument" doesn't exactly generally spark friendly chatter :| .
  16. You seem to be under the false impression that I was being literal, it was only a metaphor. Also, you seem to think that this would happen in a day, or a week, which it certainly would not. This would happen over the course of many many years, in which course gold value would settle out. Also, broccoli was intended to be a representation of consumables in general, which people do indeed need on a daily basis. I will not address your daggonith king reference, because I do not see it in any way relevant. Short term economy study != long term economy study by a very large margin This would never happen. Ever. I'm looking at it hypothetically, as if the rares dissappeared all in a moment. There really is no other way for it to happen except for intervention by Jagex. This whole thing is hypothetical; logically speaking, it will never happen. As for the broccoli comment... even if we arguing two different cases (you're arguing long term while I'm arguing short, we need to do something about that o_O), people only need so much broccoli. But logs... some guy could go out and buy a million logs to go and burn in one day, that would never happen with broccoli. It's just walking on thin ice to compare the Runescape economy to the real world one. Runescape is... a fantasy javascript game played on the computer with a very limited diversity of goods. The real world is... well, real life. They're completely different.
  17. Same here, 94% in math and 97% in Language Arts... not true for me.... Grades don't really mean much... use the SAT or some other reasoning test to compare them. My math grade is lower than my English grade. Why? No, not because I excel in literacy better than mathematics; on the contrary, I barely ever read, and my CR grade on the PSAT was a 590. My mathematics score though was a 760, even though my grade was lower in that class. It's just because my English teacher is easier than my math teacher. Though no offense, but 97% kinda screams "easy class" :| . The 94 does a little as well... but that 97 just makes it look like the teacher hands out A's on a silver platter . Oh, and dang it, my ring finger's longer -.- .
  18. But your opinion rests on the fact that you're assuming the Runescape economy is identical to the real world economy. It's not. Do people need unnumerable amounts of broccoli? No, they don't. That's why prices wouldn't go up- people don't need the item past a certain quantity. That, and who the hell wants broccoli? But skilling items, as people have suggested, would rise in price dramatically. Rich people would flood their money into something else, and it'll probably be skilling since they most likely own doubles or triples of any item they need. People can buy millions of logs, of strings, nats... you name it. There's no limit on the quantity at which they'd stop buying, especially if they're going past 99 to achieve a high rank in the skill they choose. The skilling market would be flooded with new cash from rich buyers, and prices would rise. This rule goes for any market, too. If for some reason the rich people decided to go for the Dagganoth King market to hoard drops and cause prices to rise, both their adding of money to the market as well as their price manipulation would make Dragon Axe prices soar through the roof. So, again, don't compare the real world economy to Runescape. It just doesn't work.
  19. Stop right there. That is a complete non sequiter dude. Unless you can explain to me how you jumped to that conclusion, don't use that statement as a base of your opinions in this debate. - People are all equal, but their opinions can have more bearing than other's on both specific and general matters. The surgeon is not "superior" to the hobo. The surgeon's medical opinions, on the other hand, are in fact superior to the hobo's medical opinions. I'd put $50 on that in 98+% of cases, the surgeon's opinion would be of more value than the hobo's. One: How can someone be told not to participate because they're "too young"? Two: In that case, if the child really does know more about the sun than the adult (a rare case when you get into actual particulars about the sun, e.g. it's compostion), than in that specific scenario the child's opinion is superior. Honestly, how many children do you know that have more experience than adults? Now, what about vice-versa? Generally speaking (but not always, I can't speak in absolutes of course) adults are more experienced in life, and thus have superior opinions about life. Generally speaking, the odds of me being correct about a matter are higher than a child's. Nonethless, nowhere did I say that people are not equal. Their opinions may not be equal, but they as human beings are and will always be of equal value. So stop throwing words in my mouth. Oh, and quick poll: Who here agrees with him that "age is irrelevant to maturity"?
  20. The real question here is: If the richest players in the game didn't have their money in rares, what would they spend their millions upon millions of gp on? Get the answer to that, and we can start generating some discussion on the ramifications of the elimination of rares. So "rich peeps", let's hear your answers :P .
  21. :o, is that true? There may be hope for me yet  . Balding genes cover every nook and cranny of my family on my paternal side, but the men on my maternal side have had much more luck with keeping their hair :-k .
  22. Both teams have an equal opportunity to grab the flag; the map is symmetric. The only remaining factor is team capability, and thus it is solely the players' fault if they lose, not anything else. Again, both teams have an equal opportunity to flaghold. Only when you add the factor of which team is stronger and more organized (the elements of the winning team, mind you), do you see which team is able to flaghold longer and better. I never called you stupid. They just seemed excessive and obnoxious is all. They were annoyed because they lost, not because flagholding exists. If your team had been flagholding, and you kicked the other teams [wagon] 10-1 because of it, everyone would be rejoicing. Flagholding isn't the problem there- your team's weakness is. Even the toughest flagholders go down if their opponents are anywhere near half-decent. If you guys can't work together properlly to take down an organized team, you wouldn't win anyways. Oh, and don't even start about repetitive clicking. This is Runescape we're talking about. Er, okay, thank you for informing me, I guess.
  23. Ed will kill anyone who tries to eliminate alchemy  . - I find it funny that he states no reasons, or proof for that matter, as to why it damages the economy. This isn't the world economy, things run differently, so get some real proof dang it. I also find it hilarious that 90% of his reasons are based on the fact that he doesn't consider alchemy "real magic". Okay, putting aside the fact that it's actually science (again, ask Elric), it's downright funny how ludicrous his reasons are. It's like he can't back up the economy side of the debate, so he uses a Plan B like a new Plan A. Pretty much every achievement in Runescape is time-based. This point means nothing.
  24. Thank you. It just seemed like all he did was watch the Inconvient Truth, look at no other data, and assume that Gore HAD to be right. Sorry, but when people make blind assumptions it just kind of annoys me. Just wondering, what's the source of that graph? I have a rebuttal, I suppose, but I don't want to drag this on too much; I pretty much agree with the past decision on this thread that if leading scientist can't figure out what the truth is, us posting random graphs isn't going to do us any good. Anyways....: Ya, the data's a little recent, but that just shows why it's so hard for scientists to find the truth #-o .
