Well in my opinion it depends what genre of game you're looking at: In non-competetive gaming (MMO's and RPG's) a no lifer is someone who plays, ignoring all real life ambitions and burdens. In competetive gaming (FPS and RTS and Driving) a no lifer is someone who plays for a long time, but only for fun, and doesn't improve much, and doesn't really use his talent in tournaments, just wastes his hours spent. A person who plays properly would improve lots, play seriously, and use talent in tournaments to make it worthwhile. However they must consider how much more income they get from there job, when balancing out hours gaming and working. This is how i choose to play; playing for fun does seem like a waste of time. This may be a complete inverse of some people's no lifer opinion but hey, thats just how i see it. SO basically all round, a no lifer to me is someone who plays for fun, which results in negligence of RL.

Yes... but that would be inconvenient and not 100% safe... i'm sure if 90% of the wealth got through the RWIT'er would be fairly happy, especially with such high prices on RS gold, its worth his while. And inconvenient, compared to the updates at Jan 1st? I think the RWIT would be happy to use such a method to avoid unbalanced trade filters and stuff.

Why I'm unsubscribing (though I still may play)
monkeyboo2 replied to Lime_Mercury's topic in General Discussion
Yes i have cancelled membership aswell. Basically, because it was the last straw. The first one being PC products, tainting the honour of my mage cape. The second one, being hacked for 100m and my mod crown, although i got the crown back 4 months later. And finally the updates that cripple hopes, ambition and independance. THe updates, keep the rich, permanently at the top, with me with no chance of ever reaching anywhere near there billions. I see no point in playing if i can not even compete with people at the top. Duelling was that window of oppurtunity; it is now closed. It is very hard to have your own independant ideas and playstyle now. Things like Rune essence running (law/nat running) were genius idea, which seperated the men from the boys; but now everyone is at equal speeds of income, with less sense of ambition and effiency because of skills becoming automatic, like fletch x. With no string x, i could do 3k bows per hour, and less skillful fletchers would be able to do 2k. Now we are all the same, no matter of independant ideas, and skill. I do not pay for the ability to click and be like everyone else. If i played for hours everyday i would be marginally better than some. I played to be the best, but now i'm stuck in the middle. Even with high skills such as my own i cannot exceed other players. Yes there is more to life than being the best (not much though), but having fun isn't one of those things. TO have fun i need to exceed everyone else, and nthere is no way to do that anymore. You can't even become a top dueller or PKer and make famous videos anymore. BH videos would just be a team mugging afew victims. We are all stuck (relatively) at average joe level now, except for those that were ahead before the update, who own billions and have no way of losing it. I still talk to my few remaining friends once a fortnight on RS, but i need not pay for a glorified chat program. Tis not good days. -
Hmmm, if no-one else is selling one, couldn't a RWITer potentially be able to set up a trade with a customer using many, many addy warhammers.

that would be me except the crying and social life part. i hold school as the LOWEST part of my life.. I'm not an introvert so social life is ok. and i play 15+ hours daily.. so yep. a nolifer would be th3warr1or So if you have exams for example, you go play Runescape instead of studying? And 15+ hours daily? Sorry but that's no-life in my eyes. Play Runescape 15 hours, eat and drink for 1.5 hours. Hmm, where is the social life? I bet he plays RS while eating. So that leaves about 1 hour (if you sleep 8 horus a day, which is, for me, not even enough) for friends, going to school, communicating with parents, girlfriend, exercising (sport), ... Seems a lot to fit in just one hour eh :D Hey, i can manage on FOURHOURS SLEEP so that leaves him 5 hours for studying, friends and cartwheeling.

Summoning Level : Combat Ratio |||| 138 cmb = 95 summoning?

Hey we do, don't worry. Cheers -
Jagex is CRAZY!
-
This proves nothing. There is no doubt that some of those people also had a strength/attack cape but chose to wear a range cape because its harder to get than being a PC product. Also maybe yuo were hanging out on a world where a range clan goes, or maybe afew friends were going on a happy ranging trip. Maybe even an old staking world where high range is common for bolt use. Also you'd need a bigger survey. Tooo many un-controlled factors to suddenly announce that this is range-scape.
-
That idea sounds pretty decent. :anxious: yeah well its me who said it.And when it comes to ideas thats what i'm for :XD: On the other hand, its jagex that has to come up with something good, not me, so they won't turn out as good :P.
-
Well i don't have time to read through all this, but in general, Duke Freedom is right that rares will bounce back somewhat. However, if Jagex made them untradable when they were a low price, Jagex could say 'hey, you only lost a small amount of money' and make up their usual fun about how its for the greater good =D> . However, I do agree somewhat with SLY WIZARD that 13+ people on this game have a respsonsibility to look after their own things, rather than pointing the finger everywhere else. I got 'hacked' for 100m and my Mod Crown in June 2007. It was a good trick he played on me; and i never fully recovered from the blow. However it was my fault for falling for the trick. His ambition for my money is not to blame as far as i am concerned. However this does not mean i cannot complain and 'have justice' against him by getting his account banned, or forcing him to give me my money back. Both of which i failed to do btw, even with contact irl. And it is my fault for failing, i could have done more. It is a twisted kind of blame/justice system, however it works and i congratulate my 'hacker' for his good plan, good research on me and outplaying me and the authorities. It was my responsibility to look after my account and what was on the account, and he outplayed me.

Prices were only going to crash when staking and Pking were removed. However, removal of bots and people forced to skill is responsible for raw prices going up.

Tip.It Times Presents: RuneScape: A game for the young?
monkeyboo2 replied to Ard_Choille's topic in General Discussion
Well i don't know why this is bumped...but yeah it is a game, that is easier for the young to play because of the lack of skill elements like Pking, decision making (GE makes the prices for you), Staking and manual skilling (no fletch x so everybody is at the same speed, no matter how fast they can click). Without these things that took skill, you click and your character performs an action, no matter how good you are you can't make it go any faster/better. -
I don't think it needs fixing. I use it as a countermeasure if people steal my spots, once i've asked them to move. I think they need teaching a lesson... So i flower up all spots in the vicinity, equip my rubber chicken and hit 0's on the red chins, so that they 'retreat' until i log off. Of course, i know whats going on and they don't so i can bring em back at any time. If we didn't have flowers to protect us, people would just steal our spots and we couldn't stop them. Master flower power and chin scaring and you master hunting. Of course a dwarf cannon can occasionally help, but scaring is better. Being able to defend your world from other hunters is part of the game, and i don't want Jagex cutting any more fun parts of the game, any thing thats a little bit special and intelligent. When people flower you up, retreat their chins, most people don't know about it. They will run out of patience/mithril seeds eventually. Snow on the other hand needs fixing, because then people could do it for ever and ever and its at no cost to them; they could do it just to be annoying.
-
Well, the big changes are the duel arena (staking is gone), trading (merching will be gone), the wilderness (they put ghosts instead of pkers...) and dying (the risk factor is gone, because you can always go back to your gravestone and keep your items). because of various factors, rare prices have diminished, making even more players unhappy. And raw materials have gone up, lucky for some. But don't worry, your 99 mage can still make money without Pking and staking, you can kill goblins! Hooray! :-k Happy times.

w99 Fally Center Say "Old Bone Bow or no $5" get muted and leave the game :-X :| :?: If you don't get muted quick enough you have to start imparting constructive feedback to jagex and the community through saying thats like: "@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@" Just to make your point clear, you could repeat it! Please don't! I am not sure if it's been slowed.... I hope not. lol. :XD: But i get the feeling that other riots were about something a little more meaningful than a bone bow. But don't worry rioters. You'll probably have a good riot when summoning turns out to be a dissapointment! \

I definately think achievement diary cape will come. But the only way i could see the skill capes being worn at same time is to have one cape selected at a time, but you can change it for any other cape at any time by a right click option. Also players would have a 'view capes' option on their right click options to see all your pretty capes.

Well if i was still playing... I would be buying rune essence. I would be stocking up on cash. I would be buying food (for using summons against other monsters) Expecting skill related animals to give xp multipliers. For example tuna normally gives 100 cooking xp. But using a baby green dragon (lvl 60 summoning) to cook it, you get a 1.2x multiplyer so you get 120 xp. A lvl 90 baby black dragon however may give a 1.5x multiplyer. Also if i didn't already have 30m hunter xp, i'd max hunter. And i'd max hp, to make training more efficient.

Boss Monsters ruined, I think i know the soloution!
monkeyboo2 replied to hipyhop00's topic in General Discussion
The company may have logic you don't like, but remember, it does make the logic of the game. -
You think anybody on Runescape can actually sing? The world is more dilluded than i thought. :ohnoes:
-
They won't be a status symbol any more. Won't be as admirable to wear. Agreed they may still look cool. Anyway i suspect if rares crash, no-one would sell them because they are still 'rare' but not worth trading. When the crash they will be very hard to aquire and will probably rise again.

lol this one seems to be getting all the attention lol whilst mine has only 2 other posts from anyone other than me lol. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=725658
