  1. Hiya, thank you for your submission :) I've given the Dragon pickaxe entry a grey background to identify it as a P2P item, and added '(Members only)' to the Living Rocks section header. I'll discuss with other crewbies on how to deal with the 'mining aids' section; it also still includes quite a few references to 'achievement diaries'. Changes should be live shortly... Edit: and done.
  2. Thanks for your submission :) This is indeed a useful shortcut. I haven't done the quest myself yet as my levels for the most recently added skills are lacking somewhat; so it'll be added to the quest guide by another crewbie shortly.
  3. While our bestiary entry doesn't say anything on it, RSWiki claims (using big bold font, no less) that you don't need a tinderbox to light the pillars, so it shouldn't be an issue.
  4. Yeah, that isn't important. My order was 29 -> 30 -> 28 actually.
  5. That's definitely odd. Also, it seems that Prestige XP does vary based on the actual floor you're doing... I just cleared floors 28, 29 and 30 under the same conditions. Same size, same complexity, all fully cleared. Floor 28 - Prestige 40: 8311xp Floor 29 - Prestige 40: 8335xp Floor 30 - Prestige 40: 8359xp It isn't (just) related to the total amount of rooms, either. Floor 28 had 13 rooms, floor 29 had 12, and floor 30 had 14. With some luck, the jumps of 24xp might remain constant...
  6. I believe so, yes. In the meantime, I've been scribbling down some numbers. I've cleared floor 29 two times. One time I cleared 12 out of 12 rooms, and the next time I cleared 14 out of 14 - both times I got the same amount of floor XP. Now to find out how the ratio works. It might be possible that it simply considers the amount of rooms you've missed, in which case 11 out of 12 rooms would award the same XP as 13 out of 14. Is that combat level modifier in addition to the 50% cut you get on F2P if you're over level 90 (my link, what link :S)? Seems a bit unfair to grant lower levels more XP simply because the dungeon 'is harder' for them, since they're also contributing less than higher level players...
  7. Thanks for your submission :) Eep, they're not mentioned on the site anywhere. I'll start adding them to the relevant places as soon as possible. The itemsDB entries are up! Edit: added to the crafting guide and the calculators as well. Think this is done.
  8. Well, the link between 'floor XP' and 'prestige XP' is simple enough. If you clear, say, floor 35 while having 35 prestige, both values will be equal. So the XP value for 'prestige X' is equal to the amount of floor XP you'd have gotten had you cleared floor X just then. Things that directly affect floor XP (as opposed to indirectly via modifiers) seem to be floor number, complexity, party size and # of rooms cleared. Oh, and of course the (F2P & > 90 combat) tax. The # of rooms cleared thing seems to be a fraction. For instance, sometimes you get a medium dungeon which has the full amount of 32 rooms, and sometimes you get one which only has like 29 rooms. If you clear 32/32 or 29/29, you'd still get the same amount of floor XP. I'm not a 100% on this, but I believe I've noticed a pattern that seems to support this in the past. At any rate it's interesting to try and find the formula. Keep us posted :)
  9. Defeating the Lich King on heroic difficulty in WoW. That fight is madness. Other notable WoW achievements include getting server first 'the Seeker' and obtaining a shiny Ulduar-10 drake on my tank-alt, still during patch 3.1. Tanking Mimiron in the last phase while having to tango around flames that actually chase after you, yeah, that was pretty hectic :P Beating the SDA time for Turtles in Time by quite a bit. Fully completing Super Smash Bros Melee. Having a skill in the top 100 on the RS highscores. Admittedly, it was less of an achievement back then than it'd be now :P

That was apparently a connectivity issue, it should be working properly again now.
  11. Forum user Soratharax reported the following issue with the Royal Trouble questguide via PM: The game claims the quest has a requirement of 40 slayer, but you seem to be able to complete it with less. This seems to be echoed on the talk page on RSWiki's Royal Trouble guide by numerous users.

I'm not too keen on relying on a single strategy. At some point, every player you encounter will be skilled enough to recognize and defend against a 4-gate push, it might just seem that at that point you'll be hitting a brick wall. The four-gate won't be as efficient as you'd like it to be, and when doing other strategies you don't play as well because you aren't really used to them yet. Against turtles, be sure to keep scouting. Otherwise you might be caught pants down when he's going to push out or when he's suddenly trying to shove a million billion banshees down your throat. If you don't belong in Gold with the new race, you'll drop down soon enough. At that point, you'll play comfortably against players of your skill, allowing you to get better at the new race without being steamrolled so hard that you didn't really learn anything at all. Sure, it might suck that you could end up dropping below gold, but hey, if you don't play at all you're not going to enjoy the game either :P
  13. Hmm, it does add up. We were at seven new puzzles out of eight, under the assumption that the addition of the winch was merely an update to the meat-corn puzzle room. I figured not even Jagex would consider that room a _new_ challenge room  I'll add some text on the winch sometimes not being there, as the two rooms are hardly worth separate entries. Thanks :)

TB's done a fairly amusing feature on this game on YouTube:

I thought July's games were pretty good. As for Actionjesuz...

Game 4's awesome as well. Incredible finals.
  17. Sorry for the offtopic but... god damn was he a crazy guy! I'd almost forgotten about him(and his bunny ears, mithril chain, infinity bottoms and flippers). If anyone ever needs an example of a guy who was as inefficient as possible but a great guy with a great personality, he was the standard. I second this post.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzMhh8zhTiY, because SC2 is more awesome than Justin Bieber :P I should probably play this game more... As for Supernova, cleared it without too much effort using ye olde marine-marauder-medic squads. I only played on medium difficulty, though.
  19. Heh, I can definitly relate to the second article. I've been back now for a few months, and I'm still in the process of getting used to how things are right now, after my WoW-break of a few years. As for the first, well, prolonged exposure to various MMO-forums kind of lead me to believe that people will complain about everything ever. As a result, I can't say I've given the subject much thought myself as I just take all the complaining for granted :P nice to see some deeper thoughts on it.
  20. I don't know what program he used to do that. I'm fairly sure that it's legal, though. He could get the same effect by putting tip-ex on his monitor, after all
  21. Heh, he actually called them patent trolls in an official statement. I'm glad the court ruled in favour of Jagex, this entire lawsuit was a load of bull to be honest
  22. It seems that they've merely updated the meatcorn & grapple hook puzzle room to include these extra elements, and extra options for self-mutilation because apparently operating a winch is rather deadly. The old room (without the winch) no longer seems to exist. This has been updated in the DG guide, and I've added your name to the credits. Thanks for submitting, changes should be live shortly :)
  23. Thank you for your submission :) It seems that a crewbie already ran into the puzzle and added it without stumbling across this topic. It's listed now, so locking this. Thanks again :)
