  1. Source? RS Wiki claims they're 'likely to be on there', that's all I could find about it.
  2. It seems that this bestiary entry was accidentally set to "not visible". Should be fine now :)
  3. You're right, it is clearer like that - I'll update the text sometime. Still, ideally, things should be intuitively clear to the user ('cause hardly anybody reads instructions :() so it's a shame that it is in fact not. As for showing the average cost or profit, while it might seem to be a good idea we've found that it just makes the calculator end up looking pretty cluttered. We figured that most people would care for an estimation of the cost, and an estimation of a medium price cost is easily made by simply taking the average between the minimum and maximum costs. If they really wish to know the exact medium price cost the windows calculator is just a few clicks away.
  4. It's being worked on. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
  5. The minimum cost has you buying materials for the minimum GE price, and selling the potions for the maximum GE price. The maximum cost works the other way around, that is you buy materials for max price and sell potions for min. This is mentioned in the instructions. The prices are synchronized with the GE, so changes in GE prices are reflected in the numbers produced by the calculator. Edit: I also broke it. Stay tuned...
  6. Hello Derek, welcome to the forums :) Thank you for your submission. The error should be fixed now.
  7. Hey, thank you for your submission :) I'll see if I can figure out something that prevents the ammo dropdown box from getting stupidly long while still granting you the ability to have all information at your fingertips; I posted a more detailed reply in your topic in help & advice as there was some discussion going there. Implementing it will require some thought and I've already got other stuff on my plate at the moment, so it might take a while before you see something like that though. Sir Isaac provided some good suggestions on where to find item stats; in addition to the sources he mentioned you can also check our items database page on chinchompers.
  8. Yeah, you're right, the list is getting quite long. Unlike with the melee max hit calculator it seems as if just about every ranged weapon known to man is on there (I think there's 80 now?) - I myself am guilty of adding the slings to that list without giving it much thought. I'm thinking of having the calculator by default just show a number of popular weapons and ammunitions, and then adding a control that allows the user to expand the selection to a full list of ranged weaponry should he so desire. How's that sound?
  9. I think that goes for bot detection methods as well, though. It'll probably be a bit of a status quo, with the balance occasionally swinging in either direction. Enjoyed the articles :)
  10. Oops, I fail at copy-pasting. Link's been patched up. Changes should be visible once Peter gets around to uploading the new version.
  11. Hey, thanks for your submission. This is indeed the right place to post it :) I have identified what caused the calculator to behave so strangely and made a correction. This fix should be live shortly... In the meantime, you can restore 'normal' behaviour and make the helm, torso and leg slots accessible again by (re)selecting the no option in the item set dropdown menu.
  12. This has been dealt with and Clue scrolls (as well as related items that now also use the easy-medium-hard-elite tags) should have been updated :)
  13. Hello, welcome to the forums! As for who'd use such a tool, you could try posting a poll in the Questionnaires forum. Personally I don't think it'd see a whole lot of practical usage, but it's still kinda cool in a geeky way :) As for hosting it over here, I'm sure that'd be possible if the administrator folk think it's a good idea. They'll read your suggestion soon enough if posted on the Website Discussion board, which is where suggestions go. As this topic is not an update or fix to an existing calculator, I'll move it there for you :)
  14. I've never officially "quit" as such, but I did take two extended breaks. One I took when I was relatively new to RS (which was like eight years ago...sheesh, time flies), and the other was some four years ago 'cause keeping up with both WoW and RS just didn't feel feasible :P
  15. The trade-in thing is just for Curved and Long bones, which give 2250 and 1500 construction XP respectively. Chewed bones have to do with pyre ships.
  16. Because Zephy mentioned it, and it will most likely be in game eventually. Doesn't hurt to be prepared for the future :P
  17. Yeah, this is actually a pretty valid point - the rapier only has a stab attack as far as accurate styles go, so you'd lose out against monsters with a weakness to slash. And between monsters weak to stab or weak to crush, I'm unsure if hitting more or hitting harder will end up superior - can't help out there I'm afraid. And as Sonikku said, slash + crush is generally the better combo anyway. I'm also unsure on how the % to hit is added. Say, you have 80% chance to hit without Tactician. Say you have rank 5, so activating it would increase your chance to hit by 15%. Do you end up with 95% to hit (add +15%), with 92% to hit (80% * 1.15) or perhaps even with a measly 83% (20% miss chance reduced by 15%)? As for the comparison with Primal Longsword, I'm unsure. Comparing it with Chaotic weaponry, the Rapier is seen as a better general purpose weapon despite its -19 Strength and -30 attack stats (comparing the best attack stat for each weapon). That said, the difference mustn't be particularly huge, given the huge size of the rapier vs longsword thread on general discussion. Between their Primal counterparts, the Rapier loses -25 Strength and -37 attack (against comparing best attack stats). This might just tip things in favour of the Primal longsword.
  18. Indeed. Previously, every Clue scroll was simply called just that, Clue scroll. As such we only have only one items database entry for it. The difference between the 'levels' of clue scrolls was explained in here. We've been hard at work replacing occurrences of 'level 3 clue scroll' and the like with 'Clue scroll (hard)', so don't worry about that. As for the items database, we're still discussing if we should create separate entries for the four different types of Clue scrolls, or just leave it as it is right now. If anyone could post confirmation on the actual name of a level 2 clue scroll that'd be great. The name 'Clue scroll (medium)' would make sense, but RS Wiki has it listed as 'Clue scroll (harder)', and 'Clue scroll (med)' as posted by the OP would also make sense. Edit: it's 'Clue scroll (medium)' for the level 2 variant.
  19. Everything seems to be in order. Locking this :)
  20. Good thinking. Can't argue with the adventurer's log :) I'll go ahead and change it. You will be credited, of course.
  21. Hey, thanks for your submission :) I'm not really familiar with the additions to ranged of the last few years, so just to verify if I'm doing it right - you're using dragon arrows, using the dark bow's special attack, with Rigour enabled, and using either regular or extreme ranged potions? If so, the calculator definitely seems to be a bit too conservative with regards to the numbers it's giving. Since Jagex hasn't given out any official max hit formulas the calculator is making educated guesses at best, so I can't promise that I can fix it to be 100% accurate. Regardless, I'll go over the code and see if anything seems to be iffy. Edit: the calculator did use the wrong formulas to determine the boost provided by potions. I've fixed this, and as a result, the new max hit is even lower. Lol. It might be possible that the dark bow spec (which adds 50% damage) and the void set bonus (which adds 20%) are multiplicative instead of additive. If they are additive, they will simply combine to add 100+50+20 = 170% damage. Should they be multiplicative, they will combine for a total of (100 * 1.5) * 1.2 = 180% damage. I've changed to calculator to use multiplicative bonuses. New maximum hits are 517 with regular pots and 559 with extremes. Seems a bit on the high side, but it might be possible that you just didn't hit your maximums yet.
  22. Hmm, that's odd. It seems as if the system doesn't see any changes you make to the F2P drop field. I'll poke a techy on that. In the meantime, I've patched up the entry. You've been credited, of course :)
  23. Good bunch of artwork and man, that TD has definitely earned the title 'tormented' :P
