5th grader classroom scandal
That's what I was wondering. Makes me think that it was somehow premeditated?

OT'ers like you, How2Pk, Bubsa, Merc, and several other people I seriously can't imagine ever playing rs.

I was given a family heirloom.
I'd say you thought it over and want to give it back not because you don't want it, but explain to her how much more sentimental it should be to her and that you've reconsidered, thought it over, and decided that it should stay in her family, not yours.

Four years of tip.it
Oh the memories... Actually time spent on forums is probably the lowest memory creating action per time possible, but I've wasted countless hours here, most of which could have been spent doing something worthwhile, but I am glad that the community has shaped me into more of an objective person and I've debated other viewpoints I might not necessarily have heard from otherwise. While most of the great posters from back then are gone, we do still have our fair share of intelligent posters here. And if you begin to feel unsure about that, give the general runescape board a spin for 2 minutes and you'll be glad we have this niche community. :)

About humiliating yourself
You're not making them feel bad. Again, all you need to do is empathize with them and give them some advice about the skill.

About humiliating yourself
2002, 2003, close enough. Really though I think when they put themselves down they do this because they want the person they're talking with to boost their morale. They've lost their mini-confrontation, they feel like whatever level they want is impossible to get, so really they just want to set the other person up to give them some good ol empathy and advice from someone who's been in their shoes to how to get to their level.

About humiliating yourself
You can't really stop human nature. If it is related to the whole inferiority complex like I mentioned, better let out feelings than hold em in. Like I said, they probably just want empathy or advice.

About humiliating yourself
It's just a sense of longing to be where the 'competition' is. They let out their frustration because they lost. Since they're on an anonymous level of speaking, they have less of a problem letting their feelings of inferiority out in hoping that the high level will 'comfort' him/her with some 'wisdom' of how he/she got to that level they want to be at.

how often do you visit party petes.
Hm, that's usually a sign that you should log off and do something productive in real life. I never go there because I never want free stuff. Unless for real parties, the place is just a glorified "free stuff please!" room, where it is, in fact, ok to "beg" for free stuff to be dropped, where anywhere else it'd be frowned upon.

About humiliating yourself
The main reason for this is that teenage males (the vast majority of players) are by nature extremely competitive. By hearing that you're a higher level, they've lost that mini-conflict. Rest assured that if they found out they were the higher level they'd get a sense of satisfaction. Just as that age group is so competitive with each other in real life, they are in runescape. Haven't you ever wondered why when people meet in rs one of the first lines of conversation is "What's your str??" - they're sizing each other up, and even in a game displaying this constant drive of competitiveness.

"You can't tell me what I can and can't do."
Ideally we could go by this saying, but in every society we have people that would abuse complete freedom. And some people just can't function without being told what to do. While a lot of people would love this type of a life, it doesn't work for everyone. The majority of people just don't have good enough judgment to handle that kind of freedom/responsibility.

Have YOU Had Teeth Pulled?
I've had my four wisdom teeth pulled. No biggie. No pain or anything, just annoying swelling afterwards.
-
Worst pain you've ever experienced..
For me it'd be when a tube that was placed in my pleural space between two ribs and inbetween muscle was yanked out by a doctor. It hurt a lot less being wedged in than it did being pulled out, even with dilaudid.

What new weapon would you create?
In agreement Hopefully with my sarcasm.
-
What new weapon would you create?
Probably something that gives 100k xp per hour would be fitting, the details of the weapon don't matter. Because the current xp we get right now just isn't fast enough.

Guys, im sure theres a problem here.....
Wow, those threads were a relatively long time ago. I remember each one though. I don't think there's too much wrong in being immersed in a passion. Just don't let it become your life's dream as you did, because obviously you can't make that decision as quick as you have been. Whenever you get an idea I would just talk to your parents about your future career and they should help you out with what is doable and what isn't if you can't figure that out yourself.

Cruise Ship Actually Sinks!
Is the reef alright? Sorry, that was bad. You're right though. It is freaky that something like that can happen in this day in age. At least with modern technology most people were saved, but this kind of stuff should not happen. Titanic was one thing, but even modern cars have alerts when you're about to hit an object that's close.

By us making a site and having it be allowed on the forum as a thread, I don't understand how you're saying that's giving the admins a workload of any sorts. It's in our hands, we just need the word to get out by allowing a thread on it. I personally don't feel a risk. I haven't made any enemies on this forum. Under my judgment I wouldn't have a problem posting my picture because I value self accountability. People should be able to tell whether or not there would be an issue. If you've made any enemies on the forum, the obvious thing to do would be to not post your picture. Again, people have and should exercise their own judgment. And in this sense, I think the blanket rule covers a lot of people unnecessarily. It's not an issue of wanting to see people badly. It's an issue of debate really. I think it would be fun to see who I've been talking with for all these years obviously, but for the most part I'm debating this out of disagreeing principle.

Religion Topics On These Forums
'Everyone' is, has, and will always be ignorant. "Many people would rather die than think; in fact, most do."

Alright, but my point would have been and is, even for this situation, that even if a bad thing happens .01% of the time it's not worth spoiling it for the rest for the sake of being safe rather than sorry. But if we're going under the assumption that a bad thing will happen, based off history, I guess there's no way to go through with this. I still would like the idea of allowing a thread linking to an outside source addressed though.

Is the saying "better safe than sorry" applicable in general for all situations? After you answer I'll expand on my point.

Why does Jagex dislike pures ? do they?
You said some pures are secondary accounts so therefore jagex has no reason to dislike them. But what about pures that are primary accounts? You didn't address that.

The Future of Religion
Mods, at your discretion I would have no problems if you locked my thread or merged it with the other one because it's gone so off topic from the original question and is basically on the same train of discussion as the other thread so it's kind of redundant now.

Yeah, but the issue the admins have is that they don't want to be responsible for bad things happening. In this way it's completely out of their hands and people at the same time are satisfied. There's no need to put all that effort into it - that'd be like a deloriagod inc type forum and I personally don't see that type of a project to be worth all of that effort trying to find people to sign up rather than having one thread here. Honestly I'm debating this because of the principle behind it now. I just don't agree with the basic premise behind the rule that one bad exception should spoil it for the rest. I believe in personal accountability/responsibility and don't think the forum administers should take such a parental role. There's a difference between maintaining safety and overprotection.
