It kind of lacked that 'HP magic' the other films had IMO. The music wasn't as good (John Williams isn't the composer anymore) and it just didn't have a warm feel to it. Understandibly it lacked a lot of the story, but it felt like they just told what they could fit in of the story, while a lot of the warmness and comedy that the other films had was missing. Don't get me wrong. It was a good movie. I just think the others were better. That or I 'unwillingly' have the typical "old ones seemed better than new ones" mindset on it.
  2. Yeah, a dream will have that kind of effect on me too. It feels so real being close with someone in the dream, then you wake up and it's all gone and you want it back again.
  3. For the usb connector, it's only sold online. Pretty bad decision of Nintendo IMO. They should have made some type of Mario Kart bundle including that.
  4. I finally got it. Well I shipped for the usb part for the computer a few days ago which'll come soon, but just tonight I found out my neighbor's wireless internet goes in range with my house, so I've been playing some MK. :) My friend code: 429556930726 And I added you unknown.
  5. The reason they added the rule? One word: Liability. When another event comes up like this and some trigger happy person decides to actually sue runescape over it. Just like you see ridiculously stupid warning labels on many products, companies need to protect themselves in that way so they don't lose major money from lawsuits.
  6. It doesn't really hurt anything, but I do somewhat agree that seeing the "new posts" light up and then seeing it just being a new scam alert probably does make a certain amount of people not check that board as often, because they just assume it's a new email scam. Maybe a solution to that would to just edit in the first post of that thread new updates so the board doesn't show up as getting a new announcement, and when a real announcement does come, to just reply to that saying it was updated so people can check it too while they're in there.
  7. With making money someone mentioned, I don't know who's heard about this, but in a magazine I read that in Halo2 there are people that 'coach,' or 'privately tutor' people for like $30-100 an hour. It's so weird to think that people can make money off of something like doing that.

For those who don't know about Black Friday, in the US it's the day after Thanksgiving and tons of stores have huge deals on everything. People camp out at stores to get the early morning deals, and the stores are filled with people and everything's crazy. :P The main thing I want to get is a Tivo from CompUSA. They're opening at 11:59 PM instead of the regular time. Their Tivo is only $19.99. Here's a big list of a lot of deals. http://hotdealsclub.com/text/blackfriday2005/ Anyone else planning to be getting some nice cheap deals on Friday? :)
  9. Nicely done. :) Was that an Oergg reference stuck in there with the bunny hat and pink robes? :P
  10. Unfortunately for people who have a lot of wealth, Jagex doesn't cater to them. The top small percent of runescape's wealthy would only be able to buy land, leaving all of the work jagex put into a proposed plot of land received poorly, because most people wouldn't ever experience the whole thing. Maybe make only certain plots buyable and very expensive, but 90% of the other houses all be on one changing spot - the way that people say it will be. Either way, jagex is shifting away from its focus on gp. They won't want people to be buying up carpentry with gp, for those who envisioned it being like that. I'd like it to be gp orientated, but jagex has really moved away from gp in general by introducing new currencies and making only a few things buyable from stores with gp, and the rest as monster drops. Overall I don't see that much of an economical fix to your idea. Party hats will go up in the long run no matter what, and that would just temporarily crash them.
  11. As long as inflation keeps up, and the demand keeps up, prices over the long run will keep going up. Might as well give up your hopes on that one...not going to happen.
  12. Jim Carey, Dane Cook, Jon Stewart, Conan Obrian, Dave Chappelle, and Robin Williams (sometimes).
  13. Finally DS owners can play games together thru Wi-Fi. Well not the public yet, but the website's up and everything, and you can see that a select few people are already playing. The site is: http://www.nintendowifi.com/ It has a lot of cool features. Maps (which aren't working now :s) of wi-fi spots, stats of players, etc. To get online once Mario Kart comes out on November 14th, you can either use your DS with an online router, the USB connection directly into your PC which allows non-wireless connections ( http://planetgamecube.com/hardware.cfm? ... ile&id=244 ), or at Wi-fi spots. So I guess this can be 'that thread' where DS owners can all post our names, and once Mario Kart comes out, the people who bought it can play together. :)
  14. http://www.notation.com/ Has a one month free trial. Worked great for me when I downloaded it a year or so back.
  15. Compared to the older games, I don't like this one as much. The story is nonexistant. You just go through the levels getting parts for this skate park. I loved THUG1 because of the storyline. This one has a really thin one. The voice acting is pretty bad. I can't stand the scratchy-perky voice of the main girl. I thought I've heard her voice on a lot of older cartoons as little girls. Anyways, the levels seem dull and bland to me. They're all really similar. The THUG games I liked because as you progress through the game, you cause huge changes to the levels. This one only has minor changes. In older games you could select what mission you want to do quickly from a menu, but now you have to go and search them out. Not really complaining about that one - just saying I prefer the quickness of going through missions through a menu. So yeah, in short, I expected better.
  16. And now the news is that the Revolution's specs won't ever be released. http://planetgamecube.com/news.cfm?action=item&id=6625 Obviously their hardware is weak, so they have nothing to gain from showing the specs of it. While deliberately hiding the specs shows huge system weakness, I think it's a better decision to not show the specs than to show stats that are miniscule compared to the other systems. At least word of mouth won't be spreading that the Rev is statistically inferior. A lot of people stupidly make decisions just based on that, and if they're ignorant of all of the system's stats, their purchase wouldn't be effected by that as much. People need to look beyond hardware and really look at the fun gameplay each system has to offer, and which type caters to them the most. (Edit - Oops about the double post, just found out that news on Nint not releasing specs and forgot to edit)
  17. Yeah, I never saw what the big deal about those were. If I wanted a game, I would have played it by now. Maybe I just think that because I own all of Nintendo's systems, and this news is like exciting for people who plan on getting revolutions because they never had the chance to play those older games? I don't know. It just doesn't seem like a big deal playing older games on the Rev when right now I can play them on my older systems. And I'd almost imagine that the downloadable games will cost as much or more than the current price of the games for the older systems (most are dirt cheap in those bargain bins for under $10). I'd take a hard copy of a game over a downloaded game any day.
  18. No. I cannot. Well. I just did a lot of thinking. The posibilities... the appeal... everything. Do you have any idea how awesome it's going to be? It really is going to be a revolution. The introduction of the touchscreen and dual screen was nothing more than a novelty on DS. But this. Good Christ. This really is something. :D I'm just laughing at people who think the Revolution will fail. Sure, I can fully understand why people don't think it will sell 180 million units, of course, but the Revolution will definately easily outsell the Gamecube (18 million units). The Gamecube is just horrible. Almost everything went wrong with. Even the first party was as good as usual (Wind Waker and Super Mario Sunshine weren't as good as Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64). Still... when I really think about it with all the logic in the world. Yes. Yes, indeed. It is real. In truth, the Revolution will become a Revolution. It's only a matter of time now... For example, the virtual console feature of the Revolution alone is good enough to make it better than the Gamecube. You can download NES, SNES and N64 games. Hell, it was confirmed very recently that you can also download games from other territories, meaning you can download games from Japan that were never released in the US or Europe. Also, for all the people that are predicting such high numbers for Xbox 360, in order for it to reach such a high number, it must be a success in all territories, including... yes. Japan. Will it flop like the first Xbox? Not as hard, but I'm thinking yes. Today (November 1st), the Xbox 360 Lounge in Japan opened up for press. Those pictures were taken o the day it opened (today). Do you see any press? I don't. It will open up to the public tomorrow, I'm sure it will draw in some people seeing as how it's free and stuff... but still. Xbox is just a big no in Japan. But, we shall see... Just because something is revolutionary, doesn't mean it will be a revolution. Sure the new method of gameplay is totally new, but that's no guarantee at all to anything. Haven't there been revolutionary systems just like the revolution with similar huge features that all failed? Yes, there have. I'm not saying Nintendo's Revolution will fail by any means. I think it will just stay how it is in popularity. Gamers won't be ready for it. They'll see all their friends this November playing Xbox360 and having a great time. They're going to be tired of their current system, and when the holidays roll around and they have nothing they want (intending on getting a ps3 or rev), they'll just instead ask for a Xbox360. A lot of gamers really aren't that loyal to a company. They get what their friends have. If a decent percent of people get Xbox360's, more people will buy them just to be like their friends. People don't like being the only one with a gamecube. That's why a lot bought a second system. So much of things depend on that (at least around where I live..). Anyways, if Nintendo wants to do decently in this console war, they're going to have to appeal to more people. They're going to take a different stance than last year, and appeal to many non-gamers. While that disappoints me, at least they have a mainstream goal, and hopefully will stop with those stupid gimmicks that are mostly useless. When it comes down to it, Nintendo just really isn't that capable of getting past that 1/3 of owners mark. But who knows. Maybe it is possible that they can really revolutionise things so much, blowing everyone else out of the water, and just become the system to own. It'll either be that, or a weak turnout like the Gamecube, I think. I'm not seeing any average showing from them sellingwise. Anyways, when it comes down to it, people will buy the games that are most fun. If Nintendo can provide that, which they will, they should survive this war.
  19. It's hard to do that when your on the bench the whole time... He's actually getting played somewhat now. But jeze, imagine that scenario, lol. I'm gonna pick Heat for the win. Then the Spurs or Detroit if the Heat gets knocked out. Personally I want Detroit to win, but I don't think they're able to beat Miami.
  20. Nintendo profits off of their systems. I don't know about now (they're really cheap now), but for most of the console's life they were profitting off of the cube, unlike the other systems which took a loss. So no, Nintendo doesn't need to go software only. You also have a huge Xbox bias favoring their games as reasons why it will do better, which isn't really factual enough to back anything up with. Nintendo will be lucky to get an even 1/3 share of the market. They're not going to pull ahead of Sony obviously, and they'd be lucky to get past M$. Unless the Rev is cheap enough that people buy it as a second system, or it's revolutionary enough and is so beyond the other two systems, it won't do that great. And that's assuming that it becomes well known enough. I think it will do fine in Japan, but I think there's a decent chance Americans just won't accept a new form of video games like that. I'm thinking the regular gamer will have either a Ps3 or Xbox360, and then some of them will additionally have Revolutions. Not too many people I don't think will only buy a Revolution (although I plan to). Nintendo will only pull through this if it offers enough that the other two don't, and the other two systems are just too similar to distinguish from that people want to try something new. M$'s big head start will help it massively, giving it a bigger lead, and I'm thinking Sony's console lead from the last era will shrink a little.

The movie I hated the most was probably Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Maybe if I read it I would have liked the movie, but I just thought it was as stupid as movies get and I could barely stay awake watching it.
  22. There's so many of those out. I love em. Doesn't matter to me that they're making fun of em, I just like how 'creative' those people are.
  23. Here's our new Bond. Doesn't really matter that much to me. I'm sure he'll do fine with the role.

People wear makeup because of a 'need' created for them. Advertisements, society, and everyone else wearing it just makes the desire of wearing it spread. I don't see why all these people are "Is makeup really needed?" Can't you answer that yourself? Of course it isn't needed, but people will wear it because it exists, and generally makes them look more appealing to most people. And for your other question, "is it wrong for men to wear makeup?" - That's obviously an opinionated question. Maybe you want to ask it in a different way, because 'wrong' is pretty vague\undefinable. As everyone else said though, it isn't 'wrong.'
  25. Wish for mana to apply with prayer instead then, because what you're describing sounds like it would apply more to prayer than the hugely already established magic. Prayer could just be expanded, prayer points fitting with mana points or just keeping the old label, and they'd put in cleric and whatnot.
