  1. I am astounded that the author would have the gaul to compare a terrotist attack on America and the subsequent deaths of thousands on both sides to a computer game just to get a rise out of his audience. I suppose its not enough that people had to die fighting terrorists, now we have to degrade them by comparing them to a meaningless computer game. That sickens me.
  2. Sweet! I live in AZ! I think Ill go TP some houses. Eheheheh.
  3. Give her this T shirt for christmas. God bless maddox! http://store.theworstpageintheuniverse. ... VERYANIMAL
  4. I would much rather keep the combat level. That helps us remember that in ruenscape just as in real life, everything is a target.
  5. Go play WoW for a while. Every time something changes everyone [bleep]es about it, no matter what it is. Its a pain in the [wagon] let me tell you.
  6. This is to all those people who whine about Jagex taking "their" accounts and also to inform those who were a tad misguided. li̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâ÷cense /̢̮â¬Â¹Ãâ¹Ã¢â¬Â la̢̮â¬Â°Ãâês̢̮â¬Â°Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ns/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[lahy-suhns] Pronunciation Key - verb, -censed, -cens̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâ÷ing. ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãânoun 1. formal permission from a governmental or other constituted authority to do something, as to carry on some business or profession. 2. the legal right to use a patent owned by another. It gets even better, and clearer for those who are confused about what licensing is. So basicly, any and all things you aquire in the realm of Runescape are the sole property of Jagex Ltd. and are yours to use until such time as Jagex sees fit to take them away. Now, before you panic, let me make something clear: Jagex may not take away your account unless they have proof that you have violated the terms of the licensing agreement. Let me repeat that: Unless you do something specifically forbidden in the terms and conditions the account is yours to use under the license. Before a massive wave of "Jagex is mean for doing this" appears, let me be very clear: this is not at all unusual for software or MMO's at all. Usually when you buy a program you only buy a license to use a copy of it. And when you play an MMO usually you only rent a character. And let me be quite frank with you, it makes a lot of sense to have it set up that way. If it was not, Jagex would have a hard time banning your account for the simple reason that you actually owned the account. Since they are the one who owns it, they can ban you when you do break the rules. Otherwise someone with half a legal brain could sue the pants off Jagex when their account was banned because their virtual property was rendered ineffective by Jagex. So rest easy, unless you do something stupid you have nothing to worry about.
  7. Legally, no one on RS owns an account. The key word there is licensed, bolded for your convenience. If you are licensed to do something, that means that someone is giving you permission to basicly rent something of theres. No one owns their runescape accounts, just like most people don't own their own house or car, the bank does.
  8. This is called reactionary syndrome, people react to everything usually by complaining about it. Its not going to change, people whine about everything from the weather (like God cares) to taxes to people they voted for.
  9. As someone who works with kindergardeners on a regular basis, I heartily disagree with you. These kids are perfectly capable of setting goals and achieveing them, though they usually have to be short term. They are also fairly good at online games, I had a cousin who when she was five was able to consistently get at least 20 kills in a 50 kill UT 2003 match*. Now by no means was she winning, but she understood the game and was able to manipulate its controls to her benefit. (*I neither endorse nor approve of children playing M rated games.) Another bullet in your claim is that I have actually met children in that age range who PLAY RUNESCAPE. Now the one I know who was the most successful at it was admittedly 6 1/2 so he was not a five year old. However, he was able to chat online with me (and me and one other friend only, his parents knew me very well, the other person was a friend around his age) fairly coherently for a child of his age. His parents supervised his game play, allowed only a 1/2 hour of game play a day and kept his pubic/private/trade chat to friends only. If done properly runescape COULD (maybe, probably not) be benifitial to a child. But there are much more benifical things they could do and for that matter most parents let their children play games for far too long.
  10. Gratz to you on being published Emo_wise! :D Im pretty excited that the tip.it staff thought my letter was good enough to publish! Maybe I can write more in the future 8-) But I agree that the new team implementations were needed BADLY. This way you dont have to worry so much about getting a dishonest partner for something since the loot is evenly distributed.
  11. This is pretty useful just by telling you exactly what you need to do all the quests! Good job guy!
  12. I wouldn't be opposed to this, except they would need a better way to determine your age. And only if you were above a certain age could you tone it down. However, I would leave it up pretty high for the most part, anyway. I dont think there really is a better way to determine your age, and anything they could put in place could easily be faked. They would simply warn you about turning down the filter, state that any site you went to or any language you were offended by was not their fault when you agreed to turn it down, and then when you whine about it they point out you had fair warning.
  13. I dont really see any serious flaws with this, I have already made a few p pots for people and cut a few gems, so I think its pretty harmless. After all you get the exp for free basicly, so where is the harm in that?
  14. Personally what I would like to see happen is a way of turning the filter off/down on the main site based on your individual account. So JagEx can keep their super strict filter for the kiddies, but for older players they can have a converstation with out worrying about giving out things like site names email/instant messaging and things like that. I have seen this work very well on other games and web sites, and I think it would work well for RS as well.
  15. I sincerly hope the new update is not summoning. That would be a very game dynamic changing skill, and I really dont see it changing in a way that would really make the game better. Same with a higher level cap, that seems to me to only make skills even more out of reach for the general populace. Mechscape I know about and am waiting for.
  16. What happened to honest playing is that people play this game, and some people will do anything be it lying cheating stealing or murdering to get ahead. So ripping off some pixels doesn't even brush the surface of human ingenuity for evil.
  17. As far as I am concerned, merchanting can blow up and crash and burn. But it wont, it will adapt, change and continue on. This is great, you can now sell everything without wasting tremendous amounts of time spamming in world two or on the forums.

I think it is acually a subliminal message from Jagex that you should run and escape from their product because it will suck you in and never let go!
  19. I think its easy to blame miniclips for the loss of community, but even before miniclips things were bad. Sure miniclips might have made it worse, but not that much and it did bring in lots of new players.
  20. :XD: Are you serious? Hill giants too strong? I can kill those guys naked, and if I where armor I dont even need food. Go train on something weaker, like a giant rat.
  21. Or you know they could institute and in game mail system so you can send people things for free or cod. Like say, in world of warcraft.
  22. A cure for autism, or at least a large government or private grant for research into curing autism.
  23. I personally agree with you that Jagex got it "worng" as I have played many other MMO's that let you trade between acounts and create "twinks" or characters with superior items for their combat levels, similar to an RS pure. This was fun for higher leveled richer players, but drove up the price of armor and weapons out of the reach of the average low level player. Still, commerce is commerce.
  24. I think Mr. Foreskin needs to be circumcised. Yeah, I think I am punny too.
  25. I have always liked surprises, but there is no harm in getting what you asked for. I say whatever. Either way works well for me.
