  1. Why not turn it around? If you have problems with the language other people display, then turn on the optional censor. With or without the censor, those people will be rude, and will be swearing. No censor will ever cure that. I can still flame at you all I want ingame, without the censor. And about using god's name in vein, well, you can't force me to NOT say things because that'll offend someone's belief. Not only little kids swear. Everyone swears.
  2. I despise the censor. It doesn't serve any purpose. When I say **** you ingame, everyone knows which word I'm talking about. With or without the censor, Jagex doesn't allow swearing and offensive language. That's fine. So ditch the censor please, or make it optional for the crybabies that'll start whining whenever they see the F-word.
  3. I think dark chocolate is the only "real" chocolate.
  4. Jagex will not ever ask you to prove your age and take consequences based on that. It's totally useless, discriminating and very bad for a company that is trying to gain money. Filtering out a whole age group is just totally nuts. If individual players annoy you, there's a solution: use the ignore button. Guess I'll make a thread in the forum updates section about being able to filter out [developmentally delayed]ed threads. Now that would be a feature.
  5. Acctually I think Omarsherif is the oldest rs player. He is in his 70's and his daughter Ladydejavu plays too =) 70's, darn. It's hard to imagine a 70 year old playing. Let alone seeing a 70 year old do something on a computer :P Not that it's bad or something. Just, well, funny.
  6. With a rank around the 3k'ish, you know that it's not true. So don't try ;)
  7. Well, I'm an adult. 21 years old. Not that adult'ish hopefully. I still like to think of myself as not one of "them" yet. Unfortunately I have to admit that my childplay days are over.

  9. Say drugs are never good "period" is as bad as promoting drug use when not necessary. I get where you are coming from, people take drugs for way too many things now and just eating healthier and exercise would fix a lot of problems. But there are a lot of ailments that can't be fixed by even the healthiest of lifestyles. Indeed. I guess some people can't seem to distinguish between clinical and lifestyle features.
  10. Oh noes, he will destroy all the merch clans. Such evil display.
  11. It's hard to describe in words how totally wrong you are.
  12. That's because there's a lot of harassment. Keeping your chat open is asking for abuse. Lol, little frustrated?
  13. 5 deaths and several more hurt, is the current status. The suspect died as well. Unfortunately.
  14. Biggest load of crap I've ever heard. Well, take a simple look around. Who's the most sick, the people that clean they things with products that kill 99% of bacteria or those that use products that kill less bacteria? You're going to see that people that kill all the possible bacteria they can find are sick much more often than those that don't kill the bacterias as much. Simple immune system practicing. I'm sorry, but you don't have any clue about what you're talking about. If we don't vaccinate against certain diseases, these diseases will simply kill us. The immune system is a beautiful thing, but will NOT simply protect you against everything. The fact that you never got an vaccineable disease, is due to the fact that other people do vaccinate themself, and therefore can't transmit the virus onto you.
  15. I would also say that people have the universal right to live in a healthy environment too. Yes, and that's why you're entitled to a vaccination. Doesn't mean you can demand other people to get a vaccination. Without mandatory vaccinations, many diseases would not be wiped out. They are vital to the public health, just like smoking bans in public places. Only the people that aren't vaccinated will suffer from it. And it still does not give you any right to violate one's basic rights as a human being. And, we've been quite successful in eradicating infectious diseases. Take polio for example. And that's without the mandatory vaccination. Biggest load of crap I've ever heard.

Yes, of course, but the gaming experience would be more pleasuring for everyone if everyone would try to also make other players' gaming experience fun, now wouldn't it? Of course, for some people, it's mostly about their own succeeding, which is, of course, logically much more convenient. I won't start criticizing these people anymore, I've seen it's like poking a beehive with a stick. The results are painful, though mentally instead of physically, like in a real stick-on-beehive situation. I wouldn't know why you'd want to criticize people that make normal use of the elements in a game (yes a game) in the first place. This isn't real life. You seem to be forgetting that.
  17. In this type of retro-virus definitley not. Most mutations regarding viruses and most single "bodied" organisms happen in response to drugs, or accidently in genome transcription. HIV mutates rapidly and only because of its frequent attachment to certain cells that force it to churn out more viruses. HIV never mutates into a "new virus" as such but slowly changes its indiviudual characteristic to adapt to foreign influences. I was about to say that this was interesting and then I read Trapical's post. What Trapical said is very relevant. Mutation is always random. Mutation rate however, might vary. And retro-viruses do have a high mutation rate, due to the fact that they don't have proof reading mechanisms. And yes, certain chemical compounds might be mutagens, thus increasing mutation rate. However, which nucleotides might chance, and what the chance will be is totally random. Thus, nothing can be said about the outcome of a mutation. It is true that viruses can adapt to drugs and such, but that principle is covered by natural selection. It has nothing to do with the process that is mutation. It's simply the fact that only the viruses that can adapt will be able to replicate, and others can't, leaving only the adapted viruses. In short: no, mutation is random. Plenty of scientists that would want to induce genetic changes in humans. Fact is legislation won't allow that. But it is to be expected that once more is known about DNA manipulation in vivo and we can guarantee safety, new therapies will arise. It will certainly be something that is highly on the list of research potentials, and the so called "basal rule" you're talking about does not exist at all. That genetic manipulation does not have to lead to bad consequences is proven by the fact that a lot of genetic variation exists in the human population. Lots of genes are turned on or off in different human beings. Additionally, it would also be possible to turn genes back on when they are turned off by mutation in the first place. Think of cancer therapies, for example. Take P53 for example. If would be able to turn the P53 gene back on, we would be able to diminish quite a few tumours.

Congratulations on making a completely clueless post.

  20. If it wasn't for this then I would be all for them being mandatory. Wrong. People have the universal right that nothing is to be done to their body without their consent. Therefore vaccinations aren't mandatory. At least, they aren't where I live. And flu vaccinations shouldn't be mandatory at all. The virus mutates every year, which easily makes the earlier vaccins obsolete.
  21. Why don't you just try and install the latest Java version instead of thinking that it probably isn't your Java? Only one way to find out.
  22. I watched it live on television. Needless to see all activities were cancelled and the rest of the day included speculation about what happened. The queen issued a statement later today, and I've never seen her so shocked. This really ruined a day that was supposed to be a celebration.
  23. Mousekeys, yes. That's allowed.
  24. Good post. I agree. Although, imo, Runescape has much more defining aspects not found in most other MMOG's.
  25. Probably not; think smaller. It's probably OGG with some low quality, or some super-fancy way of doing MIDIs... Wouldn't that require client side installation of the .ogg codec? Seems unlikely.
