Badassery
So Leonidas wasn't badass? I know, I know, 300 stretched the story "a bit", but either way, I'd still say he was pretty badass.

Smartest person on earth
I'd also throw Confucius and Laozi out there. At least, up there with the western philosophers like Socrates and Plato. But I'll say da Vinci nevertheless. Simply an incredible man, with way too many amazing skills.

Swine flu virus
Now Massachusetts has the fifth most confirmed cases in America. And we're so far north... Harvard Dental School has closed. Harvard School of Public Health, where my dad works part-time, shares the same campus. They shut it down pretty quickly so I doubt it'll spread too much. Runescapeloser, apparently a middle schooler in your district has it (confirmed). :? From a CNN article: "The Department of Education said that as of noon on Friday 433 schools, with a total of 245,449 students, in 17 states have been closed." I heard from my friend that if a student is confirmed to have the swine flu, then schools in that district will close for two weeks. A chorus from his school went on a trip to Costa Rica, now they're all being tested. A new map, by the way. (And has no one really brought up the flying pigs pun...?)

Simo Hayha also lived to 96 years old. Impressive.

Smash Club.
It spat me Marth, my main in Melee. I don't even know who my main is now though. Falco? Eh. Dedede? Perhaps. Ganon? Maybe. I just noticed there's a list on the right. Yoshi and ZSS are up next. Then Sonic. And DK. And Luigi. None of which I have ever really used. :? (I didn't really think much about the questions, maybe I should try it again...Ganondorf was one of the last ones, by the way...)

Anti-Humor
My friend loves these, they usually are pretty funny. Just like all other types of humor though, there are some bad jokes too.

Swine flu virus
That's only page one. Apparently the markers from page two don't show up unless you are at page two. (And when you are, the ones from page one disappear...) This obviously has the potential to be extremely serious, but I do kind of feel it is somewhat over-hyped. Yes, people are going to die, but it seems like the majority who get it are perfectly fine. That's because, of course, they get treated. Apparently some kids a bit north of here (in Massachusetts) have/had it. They were in Mexico, but they've been kept home ever since they got home, which hopefully means it hasn't spread too much, or at all, in this area.

Swine flu virus
Ah, check my first post. I'll post the link again. "The flu shot given last fall does not work against this. On the other hand, eating pork is fine." This specific strain can be spread human-to-human, which is rather worrisome. If you're simply in the presence of someone who has it, I'm pretty sure you're safe, unless they cough/sneeze, and the germs somehow end up on you, and then you transfer it into your body. Just about every case so far is either in Mexico, or is someone who's been to Mexico recently. Maybe I should avoid people who've been to Mexico.

Swine flu virus
Hm, this past week was school vacation here. Hopefully none of my classmates were in Mexico... It sounds like it's spreading quick, but the treatments are fairly effective, at least in America. The fact that it's transmitted human-to-human is quite worrisome, I hear that a school in New York may have up to 200 infected students. The flu shot given last fall does not work against this. On the other hand, eating pork is fine.

Mother gives birth to a baby with Anencephaly.
What waste of resources? The mother's? I really doubt she'd donate the money she's spending to something more useful. The doctors'? So you're saying whenever someone is diagnosed with a terminal illness, we should kill them ASAP, and not even bother treating them to relieve some symptoms? Venomai had a good explanation - "This baby is not "taking" anything significant from us, no more than any other person or even animal would. So long as the parent continues to pay the costs of medical attention, there is no problem here."

Mother gives birth to a baby with Anencephaly.
What else can you expect if people are posting that the baby should die? I'm glad the mother is sticking with her decision, at least she cares about her baby, even though it'll probably die. Good point. Some of the things said on this thread are ridiculous. And I forgot to mention - Props to her for persevering. (Or being stubborn, depending on how you want to look at it) So you basically want to execute her for a "crime against society", which she has had absolutely no effect in? There are many people who have had much, much more negative effects on this world, yet they are still alive. Do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. Not to mention she does actually have some positive influence. She makes her mother happy. Her happy mother probably makes other people happy. Killing the "baby" would barely lessen its negative influence (which I admit exists), and perhaps even increase it. I don't even get why this is up for debate. It's obvious that you'd kill it if you were in her situation, and I probably would too - But we aren't in that situation. This woman is, this is what she's doing, and the choice is hers and hers only.

Mother gives birth to a baby with Anencephaly.
What does it take from society? If it contributes nothing, and takes nothing, there's no reason to keep it alive nor to kill it. And that would give the mother the final choice. I suppose it does take some things. Time, from the doctors who are caring for it. Time that could be spent saving other lives, perhaps. Money? I haven't really read up on it, but I'm pretty sure the mother is supporting it by herself. I kind of doubt that money would go to any other use. And really, chances are it'll be dead in a few weeks or months. After that it won't even have a chance of hurting anyone, not like it does now. In her latest blog post, I love her comments about the "internet terrorists." Under demonic forces, definitely.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeep YEAH BRUINS And yea, they were horrible two years ago, now they're first in the east...? What?

Mother gives birth to a baby with Anencephaly.
I'm not sure how keeping this "baby" alive affects any of you in the slightest, but whatever. So does it need to eat and stuff? If no, it just...Sits there? For people who seem so intent on preserving freedom, some people here surprise me. Honestly, even if it isn't a child, it still "belongs" to her, thus allowing her to do whatever she wants with it, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. And keeping it alive doesn't. At least, I don't think it does.

Different.
Not as much as I am. Being different is good but there's a limit that I feel I'm way, way past. You honestly bumped this to make another proclamation of your glorious sexuality and how much you get it on with dolphins? Whatever. Rainbow power or something. Nah, it was bumped by some dude from 4chan. You know, the guys that Dizzle was ranting about a while back. And Killer, there are many other people out there like you. Maybe none here, but they exist...

Shows that need to be put DOWN
yeah, i'm not gonna deny that. the reason that i got as far as i did was because there was this huge bandwagon with some people i knew and i decided to jump on that. Hard to believe it but the current season is actually great ! the best season except from the first ofcourse. It doesn't mean they dont need to close it though... I think Sutherland said the next one's gonna be the last. This season is also gonna be Prison Break is last season from what i remember. The current one started off great, and is still pretty much better than the others. (Except...Season 1 and 4?) I think they're only making one more season though. Better be good. (Probably won't)

Best songs for movies
7 posts and no Howard Shore? You guys disappoint me. Most of you have probably heard of Concerning Hobbits...It's good, but I personally prefer The Black Gate Opens. Eh, just about every track in the FotR and RotK OSTs is great. (TTT is a different story...)

Saddest Movie Scenes?
Probably my favorite quote ever, though you cut off the end. "A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something...That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo...And it's worth fighting for." Boromir's death...? Eh, I never like Boromir until he dies. Gandalf's fall, even though he doesn't really die, is sadder in my opinion. :| Of course the end of RotK is sad. The scenes on the side of Mount Doom (Do you remember the taste of strawberries?) and the Grey Havens (Not all tears are an evil), especially. Blargh, I don't watch enough movies to think of anything else. I suppose any time anyone "good" dies is pretty sad.

If you could make ONE religion real, which would it be?
You know, my history teacher let us watch Star Wars because he said it had something to do with Hindusim. I didn't really understand it...But hey, free excuse to watch a good movie.
