  1. The more I think about it, the more this actually makes sense. I know there are cruel people out there who do things like this because they enjoy seeing others suffer, but April Fool's Day plus the internet can only make me think of Rick Astley. Anyway, cyberterrorists? Let's call Jack Bauer.
  2. Yep. Hurts bad. And you always get it at the worst of times. I never knew it had a fancy-pants name, though. I thought it was just when you had to take a [cabbage]. So did I, but it occurred too often and painful to be a [cabbage]. So I researched. I'm surprised how many people actually had these attacks. My father told me he fainted once due to it, since he and a friend were waiting in some long line for something and didn't want to get out risk of losing their place. I knew there had to be other people here. That's what I was talking about in my post, though that may have been from a bacterial infection - Or both.

I find bullies to be very easily outsmarted. No, you shouldn't respond by asking them the square root of 576. Though it sounds stupid, ignoring them works quite often. Bullies bully to get a response, don't give them what they want. If they try to get you to attack them physically, don't. If they try to make you angry, try not to show any emotion, or even laugh. If they try to trip you, jump over their foot and make them look like an idiot in front of their friends. (...Happened to me once) And if you really need it, you can always talk to a school counselor - Some suck though, and do absolutely nothing, while others actually help. I suppose physical violence is alright as self-defense (as in they attack you first, not that they call you names or whatever), or as a last resort. Sounds like your case, so I won't condemn it.
  4. How would one atom splitting do anything? There's no element found in the body that's reactive enough to start the chain splitting reaction of a nuclear explosion. You'd have one atom go pop, and that's about it.. What if you eat uranium for breakfast?
  5. I'm my own crowd. [/cliche]
  6. I've noticed a correlation between being left-handed and being awesome, though it could simply be coincidence. I'm right-handed. Meh. But my dad is left-handed, and he certainly is good with technology.
  7. One night over winter break, my sister and I stayed up until 3 AM on that site, competing on various quizzes and yelling answers across the hall. Good fun. ;)
  8. Well, apparently you aren't Chinese. Many Chinese people actually do adore him, but I'd say that's more because of lack of experience, as they haven't experienced anything else.
  9. Damn. Those three games were close. (Marquette - Missouri, USC - Michigan State, Siena - Louisville) But no upsets. Aw. (I picked Marquette though) All final four still in.

DDD gimps Snake easily. Bairs pwn. As do Waddle-Dees. And if you're high enough damage, blowing yourself up as a recovery will do the opposite, and kill you. (That's like the only time Kent has died in a match with me...)
  12. I've never broken a bone, never had a major injury in which I had to to a hospital. But then, my parents are Asian doctors, so there's not much that they can't do at home. I've banged my head quite a few times as a kid, falling down the stairs three times or so. Leaned back in a chair once and completely flipped over, landed on concrete. It didn't really hurt though, I have a pretty hard head I guess. My friend cut my finger open with scissors once, when we were trying to cut a piece of string. And before he snipped, I was yelling at him "DON'T CUT MY FINGER DON'T CUT MY FINGER." And of all things, he does. I've also burned a good chunk of the skin between my left thumb and wrist from a glue gun. My most clear scar to date. I also get pretty bad stomachaches once in a while, it feels like I'm being stabbed by daggers, though it's not like I know what that would feel like. And yea, getting cramps in your foot (arch) can hurt.
  13. -6.00, -3.18 Not very surprising. Though I would've predicted a more Libertarian result.
  14. I had Wake Forest going to the Elite Eight, argh. Nothing huge anywhere else though. I picked BC over USC solely because they're the closest to me, and I probably should've picked a 12-5 upset with Illinois/West Kentucky, but I didn't. Ah well, all final four are still in, which is somewhat impressive for me. :P
  15. I remember mine. I walked into my grandma and granddad's house, and my mom and grandma were there, with a big ol' soccer ball. I'm sure other people were there, but I can't remember them. My fourth was my first in America, pretty exciting. My grandparents on my dad's side were over to help us transition to our new home, and we went to a Friendly's, which my family went to this past year for my birthday. (Which happened to be my 10th in America...) Anyway. I don't think any of you would remember what the fads were in Taiwan. Not like I would. Though some of the stuff you guys are mentioning sound rather familiar.

You can pick your nose, and you can pick your friends, but you can't pick your friend's nose.
  17. Fantasia is not a credible scientific source. And why is it more likely that they're just bacteria? I mean, we;re here aren;t we? And we've had tons of evolutionary setbacks- at least 3 mass extinctions that threw back the evolutionary clock. It might be more likely that they're more intelligent than us. On Earth, I'm pretty sure bacteria (and protozoa I think) are more capable of surviving in extreme settings. Extreme pressure, extremely hot places, extremely cold places, extremely vaporous (?) places, etc. Though we haven't found a planet like ours yet, we have found extremely hot planets, for instance. Obviously there's a chance that there's a human-like creature out there which can survive in extremely hot temperatures, but on Earth, bacteria are more likely to be found there. And like I said, Skywhales. Caped Stalkers too. (Being the genius I am, I didn't notice the word "hypothetical" plastered all over the Wiki article I linked to. Aw. :( )
  18. Legalization with [strict] control. And good education. That's basically my stance on anything controversial. Guns, weed, etc.
  19. Having fun =/= trying to be cool. ;) (Though I'm sure that's how some people find joy...) And college is overrated.
  20. That applies for just about anything. Like dating. People who date just so they can brag about having a girlfriend are [developmentally delayed]ed, but if they date because they actually love the other person, that's fine. Or sports. That's one reason I'm not playing one this year, despite knowing I wouldn't be cut as there's a rule about it for freshmen. There's just no sport that I really, really like right now, and I don't want to play one just because, well, everyone else does and because it looks good for college.

My mom wants me to work at a library this summer. I'm not sure if I can, I think the minimum working age is 15, and I turn 15 in the last week or two of vacation... My sister has to do some project about foreign literature, so she got a copy of the Analects. I'm now flipping through it.

Today is a half-day. Like usual, my friends and I planned to play tennis/video games afterwards. So far, it's gone something like this: [hide=Schedule]7:50 - Wake up. Most people are at school, but I have a free. \ 8:45 - Homeroom. Arrival at school. 9:00 - Latin. Fun. 10:00 - Math test begins. 10:30 - Finish math test, leave school. I was going to call my mom to ask if she could pick me up, but my phone ran out of batteries. So I ran/walked two miles home... 11:00 - Arrive at home. Half an hour is the fastest I've ever done it. -.- 11:30 - Eat, take a crap, sit around doing nothing. 12:00 - Leave home to go to the field by our old school, where the nearest tennis courts are 12:15 - Arrive there, no one. 12:16 - Go to my friend's house across the street, since that's usually where we leave our stuff and hang around if there's bad weather. 12:17 - His grandma opens the door. 12:20 - After a few minutes of failing to communicate in Chinese, I say "thanks, bye" and leave. Then I call my friends, one by one, only one picks up. Apparently they were too lazy and it rained. Even though we spent half an hour debating whether or not we would play if it rained, and we decided we would. 12:35 - Arrive back home.[/hide] So I've walked four miles in somewhat cold, rainy weather. And accomplished nothing. Always nice. Half days are a double edged sword though. It's nice having two hours of school, but teachers take it as having more time to do homework. :|
  23. One of these or this. Released before I was born. (Well, it most likely was some "educational" Sesame Street game or something. I remember playing those when I lived in Taiwan, so I was probably 1 or 2 then, though I think my sister played them when she was that age, so 1992-93?)
  24. Beowulf is pretty good. We read it this year. Though my favorite (on that list, and of all books I've read) is The Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King.
  25. I could name 33 or so of them, recognized 10-20 more, but don't know the names. As for the actual periodic table... :P
