Things that annoy the hell out of you
Rarr. Everyone but Lenin? Serious post time: -Babies -Terrible parents/young parents (Generally interchangeable, from what I've seen) -Little kids -Teenagers who think it's cool to rebel against everything -People who act like girls determine your status in life -People who think playing sports makes them cool/people who think sports are everything -People who think looks/appearance are everything -People who act like communism and socialism are spawns of the devil -People who spell things from Lord of the Rings wrong (Who the hell is Legalos, and Aragon was a kingdom in Spain, not Isildur's heir) -Idiots (Well that wasn't obvious) -The feeling that you could've done better -Forgetting something that's painstakingly obvious -Slow people (who don't have some sort of condition, that I can understand) -Fat people (ditto) -People who laugh hysterically at their own jokes -Being sick (Not having stomachaches for two days, more like every day of your life. Though I realize things like cholera are much, much worse...) -Spoiled people (As in the attitude, not just being rich) -Spoiled people who still manage to complain about who-knows-what -People who can't take things seriously when it comes to it -People who can't take a joke In other words, just about everything and everyone. That's why I loved this past weekend - I was up in New Hampshire, in the middle of nowhere, with my youth group, which consists of awesome people who generally are none of the above.

A sobering picture... The 'Pale Blue Dot'.
I did a project on Carl Sagan in sixth grade, I got a C-. Woo. I learned a bit more about him after that, and he really does sound like quite an amazing guy.

How did you come about finding tip.it?
I started playing RuneScape three months before I joined TIF. I'm not really sure why I waited, and/or why I ended up signing up... Then that summer I had nothing to do in Taiwan, so I browsed TIF all day. (My uncle's computer didn't have Java, I was stupid, and I couldn't read Chinese...) Anyway, I ended up in OT and bonded or something like that and here I am with just over 3000 posts. :|

Favorite Movie Scores?
Well...I think it's rather obvious what I'm going to say. Lord of the Rings. There. Return of the King's is by far the best, FotR second, and TTT is a bit lame. Until the Battle of the Hornburg. The great thing about Lord of the Rings is that there's no one theme. Every race, every location, many different people - They all have their own tune. Mix these tunes together, and you get these amazing pieces. My favorite tracks, in chronological order: Concerning Hobbits, The Breaking of the Fellowship, Isengard Unleashed, Hope and Memory, The Fields of the Pelennor, and The Black Gate Opens. (And if you were wondering, Howard Shore is my most played artist on Last.Fm. And that's not counting the TTT OST, which is listed under the London Philharmonic Orchestra & London Voices)

Homosexuality: Right or Wrong?
But, you like to watch two women do it, right? -.- Um, no. Stop putting words in my mouth. Why don't you actually read my posts instead of making [developmentally delayed] assumptions? Right -- that's what you're saying now ... Did you know that, while Leviticus made commentary about man-on-man action being an "abomination", he didn't actually say anything bad about girl-on-girl? A coincidence? I wonder ... You do realize I support gay marriage, right? Read some of my posts, like I said. And could it possibly be because women had little/no rights back then, aka thousands of years ago? The Israelites were no doubt a patriarchal society.

Homosexuality: Right or Wrong?
Yep, the Bible never directly says that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because of homosexuality. It may have had something to do with it, it may not. As for the verse in Leviticus (...I'm a bit late on this, whoops), Leviticus is also the same book that says you can't wear clothing woven of two kinds of material. I don't like picking and choosing commandments, but I would not take all of Leviticus literally if I were you. I would be able to see where one was coming from though. I agree with Barihawk here: I am not homosexual. I find two men having sex to be somewhat...Offsetting...But I really don't care if two gays want to get together in a room on the other side of the country. I fail to see why anyone here should care.

Who makes you laugh?
Oh, they got old. But he made me laugh the first few times. Which is still quite an achievement.

I really do hate my family sometimes
I would never do something just because "it's for my relatives." I know, I know, there ought to be some loyalty. And there is. But just because someone is my relative doesn't automatically place them up high on some pedestal. They still have to earn my respect, like everyone else. It may be easier, but I would never blindly follow a relative without good reason. (And being a family member is not one) Don't get me wrong, I'm all for filial piety and whatnot. But I fail to see how being a relative automatically forces me to obey someone.

Who makes you laugh?
Oh yes, Senajitkaushik was perhaps the first person to make me laugh in a very long time.

Well whoa darn! Obama has failed - already?
I most certainly am not a Democrat unless by Democrat you associate the party with Dennis Kucinich. Although he's a little protectionist, and supports unions too much for my taste, everything else is great :D . And no, there's a hell of a lot of conservatives here. Woo, Dennis Kucinich! (Heh, did you know that Viggo Mortenson, the dude who played Aragorn, supports him?) I don't really classify myself. I'm all over the place. On various issues. Anyway. [strangely enough], Happysniff said it well. And in the wise words of Dragoonson, "lrn2pashuns". (Haha, is this my 3000th post? #-o )

I really do hate my family sometimes
I don't like people in general, I'd rather stay home alone than go hang out with friends or to a family gathering. But I often do it anyway. Out of respect, out of politeness. And with the hope that something good might actually happen. And if I don't go, I get yelled at by people like my sister. For making my own decisions. :| (Seriously, it's your life. If other people expect you to waste a few hours to sit there and do nothing so their kid might feel better about himself, then they may want to wake up.) My cousins on my mom's side are all pretty old, except 1. Some ~15 years older than me, I think. I barely even know any of them. I mean, there's the whole language barrier and all that, but still.

Little Boy Father At 13 (After DNA Test, Not The Father)
How the hell did a 12 year old manage to get with a 15 (14?) year old? And am I the only one who finds it somewhat abnormal that the guy's dad has 9 kids?

Valentines Day (Singles Awareness Day) Will Soon Be Upon Us.
:| Wohoo for singles awareness day. I've celebrated it for a long time. \ Celebrated it all my life, and I'll be at a LAN party which I'll use an excuse for any girls that ask me. I wish I was still in fourth grade so I could get free candy. I'm supposed to be in the middle of nowhere in New Hampshire with my youth group. Not like I ever do anything special on holidays.

Reveal Confessions, Secrets & Regrets...
I love them. Sitting in bed, listening to the crash of thunder is very comfortable to me : They're great if I'm inside and safe. Actually, no, scratch that. I love thunderstorms, even if I'm outside. I just like rain in general. Hate snow though. (I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that I'm Taiwanese. I actually find myself to be pretty dry - my humor, my writing (according to my English teacher :wall: ), and my physical body - and that might somehow be my counter to the humid, humid climate of Taiwan. Or not. Maybe I'm just weird like that. :?

Ipod vs Zune !!!@@~ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN~!!!@@
If all you want to do is play music, maybe you should just buy the cheapest MP3 you can find with the amount of space you need. (Granted, it shouldn't be some bootleg thing from China...) I'm not sure he was referring to Windows Media Player. I find Winamp to be much better than iTunes, though the Zune software, in my opinion, sucks. (Though it is easy to use. Just not organized enough for me.) And Zunes aren't compatible with Winamp. (Zens and iPods are, I think?) I won't say iPods suck, but I have this thing against Apple, so I got a Zune. It went down to personal preference to be honest, they're so similar there really isn't a huge advantage for either.

Your Daily Routine
Sleep. Poop. Eat. Reminds me of FisherPrice's Play - Laugh - Grow. :? Really though, I wake up at ~7:00, go to school, get home ~3:00, computer/homework for the rest of the day.

Work outs
BMI says you're overweight. BMI and body temperature says I'm dead.34 celcius and a ten-ish BMI.You could play guitar on my ribs.Hell, the only place muscles are immediately obvious are my thighs.Thunder thighs. Well Yaff perhaps you could eat all that paper you get from people who hate your hair? I'm in like the 3rd percentile (With the 1st percentile being skinniest). #-o Some of my friends are working out for tennis team, and though I'm nowhere as good as them (so I'm not joining the team), I plan on working out with them once in a while. I have no idea what they do. :|

Does Religion benefit?
Eh, I skimmed Barihawk's [first] post because I'm lazy and don't have much time (I'll read the whole thing later), but from what I gather, I agree. That too. There is nothing that is purely good. Religion clearly has its benefits and its consequences, and anyone who denies either really needs to wake up. As long as everyone keeps a somewhat open mind and doesn't take things too extremely (For example, no fundamentalists), there would be very, very few consequences of religion. Also, religion has helped create order in society. If someone is Christian, then they'll generally try to follow what Jesus taught, the Sermon on the Mount coming to mind. They'll try to turn the other cheek, and love their enemies. From the 10 commandments, they'll remember "do not murder" and "do not steal." If you simply tell people to listen to these things they most likely won't listen - But with rewards like heaven/nirvana/whatever, and punishments like hell, you give people motivation. More will listen, and there you have it - less murders, less thefts, more brotherly love. Obviously, in modern times, most atheists don't murder, and that's because of laws and legalism, so it is rather stupid to say that people would kill each other if it weren't for religion. (It's also rather stupid to say things like "do not kill" are only Judeo-Christian ethics. Murder is considered wrong is just about every major religion/philosophy.) There are also philosophies like Confucianism which motivate people to do good things, but seeing as how they can also be considered religions...Eh...

Homosexuality: Right or Wrong?
Alright, I'll try to clear things up. Keep in mind that I'll be using my interpretations on the Bible, which are definitely not the same as every Christian's. At the back of one of my Bibles, there is an index, with a list of passages regarding various topics. Under "Homosexuality", there are three sections. Romans 1:18-32 is the first. "In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion." I don't really have a response to the first sentence. Even if heterosexuality is "normal" and "natural", that doesn't mean homosexuality is wrong. As for the second, the keyword is "indecent." It doesn't necessarily mean homosexuality is indecent. Just as heterosexuality can be indecent (Having "unholy sex", etc.), so can homosexuality. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 is the second. "Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders...will inherit the kingdom of God." I think I've brought this up in this thread before, and it's pretty similar to the first passage. "Offenders" is the keyword, and once again, it doesn't necessarily mean homosexuals are offenders. It could mean homosexuals who offend, the same way heterosexuals can offend. I really can't find anything in the third passage to do with homosexuality, though it does mention sexual impurity and stuff like that. It's 1 Timothy 1:9-11, if anyone was wondering. (And there is a verse in Leviticus that I somewhat remember but isn't listed. I'll try to find it) So it boils down to interpretations. Interpreted one way, it's easy to see why some Christians believe homosexuality is a sin. And they may be right, who knows. However, interpreted one way, homosexuality may not necessarily be a sin. I may be right, I may be wrong.

Basketball coach wins 100-0 and is fired..
Huh, something like that would never happen where I live. We're all about equality, in fact, our midterms and finals are ridiculously easy because everyone is supposed to get an A so they feel good about themselves. Anyway...It's hard to tell what should've been done. If you play easy, it's condescending to the other team, but it might give them a break. If you keep playing normally, it might humiliate the other team, but it might also give them motivation. (When I play soccer and my team is at a big disadvantage, I play harder) A mercy rule probably should've been used though. It's not as condescending as lightening up, but it still gives the losing team a break and saves their dignity. If it is true that he bragged, which I don't doubt, then he deserved it. Winning (despite a huge margin of victory) is not unsportsmanlike conduct, bragging is. If I get a good grade on a test, it wouldn't be unsportsmanlike unless I bragged and ridiculed people who got lousy grades, would it?

Paradoxes
WOAH WE READ THAT STORY IN CHINESE SCHOOL Or at least almost the same thing. Our version: So there's this merchant on the street, and he sells spears and shields. He says his spears can penetrate any shield, and his shields can withstand any spear. So some random dude asks what happens if you use his spear to attack his shield. It never says what happens. Aw. (There's a Chinese idiom about it, I'd post it if I actually remembered what it was) Anyway. You add a^2 to both sides... a^2+a^2 = 2a^2 ab+a^2 = a^2 + ab But it's not like the proof is supposed to be true.
