2CupidStunts Just putting myself out there.
Hello! :) What kinds of events are you looking for? :) My clan, "The Knighted Angels" is a fairly laid back clan with a mixture of higher and lower leveled F2P and P2P players. We do have a CItadel (for our members) and plenty of players who would be able to do events with you. Also there are a few players such as myself who are very experienced and would be able to give advice and help on all aspects of the game. We tend not to do specific weekly organized events besides citadel, though we can organize them if you have ideas. Anyways, we would love to have you! You can visit our clan chat and see what you think :) I personally won't be online for another 3-4 hours.

Behind the Scenes - November
^ This. You get instantly better when you can bind 3 items at lv100, and it is really hard to remember that you have to be aware of players without 3binds if you yourself already have them. (Let alone 4 binds from 120!) Right now I have found generally 3 classes of DG player; Most dg'ers I've found are either already high level and skilled and they learned when others were also learning with them, or are very low level and don't have the patience to learn the skill on their own. While there are exceptions many of these high level dgers aren't teaching lower level players how to learn to get better. This frustrates the low player because they feel that they can never catch up and are always too slow to be helpful.. High players see the low players as "unskilled" instead of "untrained" Now.. if only Jagex would implement a better version of dgsweeper into the game that just permanently kept the map up and marked all key doors and who's gatestones were where..... :s

Behind the Scenes - November
Quality has dropped as leeching increased, and as the top dg teams require higher and higher levels. There is no longer a good progression to get from the low 70s to 100+ at least in my experience... Most people who are 70 or less haven't had opportunity to learn because they aren't exposed to proper teams. This causes frustration because the player can't find teams of their level, and can't easily fit into a team of higher skill because they get lost (it's not gradual). Leeching seems to be the only effective way... I feel that an increase in solo but still worse than 5man should allow for fewer people to want to leech, (since the cost/benefit ratio is lower) meaning fewer people selling leach, leading to more good teams being visible. It also should enable more people to gradually learn the skill. I would *much* rather team with someone who's solo'd than team with someone who's only leeched (not that they would ever actually team ofcourse...) If someone is interested in dg and has done lots of solo, they are at least likely to be trainable (maybe not but can always try). Besides dungeoneering could change drastically depending on how they fit EoC into it (bind system changes etc)

Unless they over estimated :P I'd rephrase that "if Jagex says 350k expect no where close to 350k"

Why Do People Judge RS So Much Differently Than Other Video Games?
I've found that doing quests and daily activities and such can be quite fun and rewarding until you've done them all.

200M in all Skills
That's what Jagex claims.. I'd say wait till it is released and checked before you believe this. (however it would help anyone who was soloing and could put it off till update!)

Please for love of all that is dungeoneering let the Make-X update WORK THERE. If not then dungeoneering will be two reworks behind. I don't care if it's slower or defaults to 1 for most items.. It just looks ugly!! Tears of guthix update that allows for more xp is very nice, I would love to have a slight boost to my lowest skills, and make it feel less like a waste of time than it is now. Hopefully rework updates the timer/reset thing.. Solo dg xp is nice. It will maybe get more people interested. I have a lot of friends who hate dg because they can't find teams (they are lower lvl) so they can't catch up to me and do good floors Combat beta tutorial could be awesome :) Quest reworks really really always please me. The new versions pay good homage to the older quests, as well as expanding and fitting into the stories of runescape. I know many people don't like the signature heroes but... part of that is because we haven't had much real lore about them until now. Also, I love how it brings high-class reworks to old areas and brings those places up to snuff! I like the idea of SoF rewards for redoing minigames/D&Ds. Seems like a nice thing to add.. (now just remove buyable spins already, and possibly move the goblin to real game location...) Also, solomon stuff never bothers me <3 I hope we can mix-and-match parts of the hero packs together. This was said to be out last month but it must have been pushed. Anyways, last BTS said that you had to have the requirements to equip the item. You won't be able to keep it visible till you re-earn the comp-cape again. HOWEVER it does mean if for "some" reason you need to remove the cape, such as for dungeoneering or any other non-PVP minigame then you can keep proudly displaying the cape, which is epic :)

How should I max?
I personally prefer to try to spread out my effort as grinding specific skills is how I get bored. I suggest that you do all the skills which give collateral xp first (slayer is probably the biggest one, but there are others) I also suggest doing slower skills first, rather than last. In this way you won't really feel it as such a grind because you won't be used to the super fast xp rates of some skills. Best advice though is to learn what you are capable of and do that.

Why Do People Judge RS So Much Differently Than Other Video Games?
I think that there is quite a lot of good competition, and skill required to get best xp rates in many skills. Some of the best methods require insanely good APM and concentration. But at first blush runescape looks simple and people don't see that diversity. Also, you can't "beat" (max) runescape in a reasonable amount of time as you can on other games, which some people see as a detriment and others see as a wonderful feature.

Future Update Discussions
That was a jibe about dungeoneering. when it first released, members of high combat level could move to F2P servers and get much faster xp because floors couldn't have as many puzzles and the monsters couldn't get as high. Then Jagex "fixed" this by nerfing dg xp the higher your combat level got. I think it's not true anymore due to the release of the higher level warped floors..

The F2P General Discussion Thread
I believe F2P runespan has a larger % increase over F2P altars, than the P2P increase has over oronia altar. Anyone able to confirm this?

Would be nice if there was a way to automate that process? :)

Well Known RWT'rs banned.
On the issue of money: not all people work the same effort to get the same money. Some people have better opportunities afforded them, some are born in the right place and time. Personally I would prefer my real social status not affect my game status. If everyone had to put equal effort to get equal reward that is different. But no two people have to put the same effort to get the same money, some people have better paying jobs not because they are skilled. (and how far down do you want to allow propagation of wealth and still attribute it to the player?) As for bot detection, yes detection can work. However as the detection evolves so too does the ability of the bot. Jagex might be able to win for a large period of time, but I believe that they can never fully 100% win for the rest of time. Computers and our skill in programming them continues to get better. At some point it might not be worth the effort to create a bot, and maybe jagex can win this way. Captchas don't work. Even if a computer can't solve them, (many captchas are actually *easier* for a computer to solve than an average person!) what they do is screen shot or video if it's moving and offload the captcha to a site that solves it by paying a few pennies for each correct answer. Someone will sit there and solve captchas for money. Pattern detection is great, and it works well for bots which precisely move mouse and click timed perfectly. Most bots get around this by adding in random delays and using pathing algorithms which follow curved paths like a person's. Chat detection might work and it should be much easier to identify adbots, but real bots could simply script pms or clan chat messages. It would be possible. I think bot-watch is the way to go but obviously it isn't working everywhere yet. The real trick is whether it creates false positives as these are much worse from a customer service perspective. But I don't believe that bot-watch can stop automated gaming. I think it might make people not bother to create a bot, but I don't think any technical solution against preventing bots can work forever. If it works enough that it's not economical to create bots that might be a good blow to the bots.

Double Mining XP Quest Reward
Clan ring doesn't stack with BXP, so it might work if anyone didn't do this during bxpw. Alas, I had already done these before bxpw.

Stopping bots is a nice idea, but in practice is very much not trivial. Jagex can't just "stop bots" like everyone claims/wants. They can break bots for a period of time (we've seen this) they can attempt new detections and so forth. However none of this will ever stop bots, because fundamentally all of these can be worked around.

'Unfortunate' Lag ?
Oh. Yea people should've used the actual time they mentioned... and ofcourse that post shouldn't have gone up early.. That makes some more sense.

What price are you referring to? price of gold per million? or prices of items? Price of gold is not what randox is talking about. He is talking about cost of goods. Selling gold, whether by players or by bot-companies increases the cost of goods due to enabling more people to buy stuff they otherwise would not (since they can spend real world money) and therefor causes prices to rice to meet this increased demand. This demand would not exist if gold could not be bought, since a player wouldn't be able to infuse their character with more gp via buying. Some people are arguing that it is "ok" ethically for a player to sell gold, because they aren't impacting the economy on as large a scale as other gold selling is (from large companies). Plenty of people here disagree with this viewpoint.

'Unfortunate' Lag ?
I don't understand why everyone's complaining about this "delayed" start. I calculated that it would start at 5am Pacific, and I was able to start at... 5 am pacific.... I had to log out and log in after 5am to get it rolling but that was it. I had zero issues starting. Why does everyone complain it didn't start on time? Did they misunderstand the starting time? Did they try to use the RS clock? (I believe that clock is off because it's still British Summer time right now and not GMT, which might be the complaint...)

How much have you achieved this weekend? (Bonux XP)
86-98 construction, and that includes missing saturday night and most of sunday early one due to real life commitments :) I screwed up early on and wasn't doing oak doors properly. Also, the server lag issue really messed con up for me, because the menus didn't pop up as fast and it didn't let me make/remove as fast as I could normally...

Hallowe'en Treat: Scary Bonus XP Weekend!
We get a tidbit about next week's bts, but the info provided is very simple tips for bxpw...

The system where-by you can sell gold does not exist without the buying of gold. If no one sold gold, then no one could buy it. If no one bought gold, no one could sell it. You can't look an an individual action as it exists now in the system available and disregard the impact that the system you are enabling has. Now, you can argue that the system doesn't have negative effects. But that is not what you are arguing. If no one was buying gold it would not be possible to sell gold to a mule, therefor gold that you sell has a high probability of being packaged and resold to players who want to buy for their own benefit. End result is the RWT cycle. Just because a single action doesn't create or destroy that cycle, collectively selling gold (either legitimate or bot-farmed) is part of that cycle.

Hallowe'en Treat: Scary Bonus XP Weekend!
We don't know that for sure yet. Also many people who want to max may not want to train combat in the new system (because they feel that it won't be afk, whatever reason) or they simply dislike the EoC, so want to do as much combat before as possible...?
