  1. Levels mean floors. Many people don't like doing low floors. It's getting from the abd1 to occs that many of my friends get fed up because I can't/won't help them that often on those low floors. Also it means that you're friends who are higher level take a lot longer to reset on average so they can't keep doing lfoors with you since eventually they just have more floors. I'm simply saying that this increase to dg xp might decrease some people's frustrations about dg to the point where they might be willing to clan dg and learn. Not everyone... but not everyone will quit 5:5s either. Some people obviously will. I will probably do more 3:3s and 4:4s due to ease of finding it.
  2. But 'as we know it' is useless. Of course it will change. I'm saying I disagree. I think more people will more easily get excited about dungeoneering as it will help them "catch up" and maybe get to where they want to learn more. People can go both directions. That is, what I mean to say is that players will have more opportunity to dungeon, and less standing around. More enjoyment means they might realize how much more fun clan based dg is and then seek out a dg clan..
  3. Ginger, I disagree. I think that there will be possibly an increase in enjoyment of the skill as people can more easily solo or small teams. I find that right now people will sit and wait for 30-45 minutes just to get a 5th, when they could do a trio med or a 4x large and be done well before. They have it ingrained that it isn't worth doing not 5:5s (which usually is true..) I am hoping that it increases my abillty to convince people to duo so I can teach. Also, I find that people tend to enjoy it more as they get higher up, so I think that it might open up more chances for people to learn at their own pace.
  4. Welcome to Tip.it A good series to read if you haven't yet "Malazan Book of the Fallen" starting with "Gardens of the Moon". The series does kind of start slow so you might wanna have some patience but it is definitely worth the read! (Author Steven Erikson)
  5. Awesome! :) 14 levels!! I myself only gained construction... :) Managed to hit 98 during weekend itself though!
  6. You should do farming in parallel (after runespan ofcourse) as it will be a lot of just waiting around. It is definitely worth it. Welcome to members! :) I am always too lazy to keep a blog post.
  7. And the Avengers was really good! :)
  8. That had better be sped up a little......
  9. Whole area looks super awesome. I hope they do voice acting and such for Juna that would be nice. I love how much more detailed they are able to do graphics now.
  10. Seriously? They can't make cleaning herbs be normal speed? I'm sure they did that on purpose because mega instant cleaning was too good.. But at least make it roughly equivalent to live game!!!
  11. Ok I'll have to play around with it when I get home, definitely interested to see if/how this works in dungeoneering too.. Betting it just doesn't work. :c Once again a place where jagex's code re-use is low.
  12. Anyone have a chance to see if this affects dungeoneering?
  13. Does anyone by chance have pictures of the new make-x interface in the beta? I can't get on right now due to work.
  14. This is probably true. I think I more would consider that being sucked into an MMO is easier for people with certain relational, psychological or emotional conditions. I have really good real life friends that prevent me from completely losing touch with reality, but it is very interesting to see what happens to people who don't have those connections. (In game friendships cannot fully replace real human contact)
  15. Having 'access' to the resources doesn't necessarily mean they would be able to implement it in-game. More than that, the rate at which a map would need to open to keep up with 5 different people running paths would be extremely demanding. Imagine a DGsweeper client integrated with the game applet, running and refreshing the map every 10 seconds. So basically, imagine the old lag of w117 before it started splitting up to "3BO" worlds and such and multiply it by whatever factor you wish. It wouldn't be pretty. I would rather see it remain a separate, efficient client on its own. Disagree. I think it would be far simpler than what DGSweeper has to do via copying the map. The *best* method would be to export the data through some form so that another external app could use it.. fat chance of them doing that sort of mod-enabling. We already have things like the minimap, I fail to see why they can't just replace the minimap with a little dg map during dg. It just has to show all the floors at minimum and keep updated consistently. This should take little resources as it just has to update when a floor opens. It could also beneficially show keys on the question marks but this isn't really a requirement. I would just like it. It should be very easy to code that into runescape, whether they WANT to or not is a different question. What DGSweeper has to do is monitor the screen and copy-pasta whenever it notices the map. You have to remember to update it, and the server issue of updating maps for other people is much more difficult, though doable. Jagex doing it makes it incredibly easier. I don't think it would cause a huge amount of lag if it was coded correctly, as we already have to load whenever a new floor is opened anyways. It wouldn't have to function the same way dgsweeper does.. It has more direct and simple access to the floor data.
  16. :c My "like" quota runs out way too early....</offtopic> Yes, I agree. But they have the power to do so much more than just what Stev has done on dgsweeper because they ahve access to so much more. For example not needing to load the map constantly, and having it auto change as new doors are opened and have it auto place keys
  17. I would personally like to see dgsweeper style map implemented by jagex. It should automatically update, and update key doors automatically so that we don't need software to track this. This would drastically increase regular players ability (though it might detract from people who say this should be a skill)
  18. I believe that many players who have issues playing runescape too much are actually showing a symptom. I believe runescape may exacerbate the issue, but do not believe it necessarily causes the behavior (plenty of them would do exactly the same thing with other games/activities if it wasn't runescape.)
  19. Jagex mentioned the idea of a minigame request thing maybe in the lobby.. But it's actually really difficult to implement with all the right options and it is a huge project. Players create unofficial worlds, but that only works as long as everyone follows it. Either way, what happens is below-average players assume they can go to high-skill worlds and effectively it crashes the skill level meaning high-lvl players move to a new world, or as they have, to clan/friend chats.
  20. Alg and Ginger Warrior are both right about different things... effective team dungeoneering is incredibly difficult and hard to teach because it requires precision in communication, and listening. It requires everyone knowing what to do when without overlap, and keeping track of doors/gates plus knowing who is most efficient at what. Many players simply don't understand so they forget even basic things like runes, and they don't use gates to maximum ability, or they stand around at doors waiting instead of doing gd's (partially this requires good team management of the group gate) I think that there is a lot to say for some people who refuse to learn just as much as people who haven't been taught. We don't really have much in the way of teaching (there are some great clans though!) I think also Quyneax is right.. the traditionally accepted places to get teams in fact don't help and often make dungeons worse. So the easiest resources to access are really bad for getting people to learn proper efficient dungeons.
  21. I definitely support Inception! I would *love* to be able to start dungeons from clan citadels. My experience is that 3rd bind has enabled me to worry less about having food.. Then again I had hood before and so I couldn't tank anything without prayer. Now with primal chain (haven't had time to hunt for plate) I can do pretty well and not worry so much about having tons of food. It wasn't about decreasing floor time as much as it helped me decrease death rates :) I do think that team xp should be faster *counting* time spent putting teams together... so the xp/floor. should be quite a bit higher since you don't lose time putting team together, and this allows for team to be still faster.
  22. Gratz!! :) I manged to get down to only 15 hammers (with the help of winning a pumpkin head right after bxpw) and that was exciting. Good luck with SC!
  23. Nomad shall be destroyed once again!!! <3:
  24. Skittles are tasty in small quantities :c
  25. The nex door requires frozen key which you have to go into the encampments to get pieces. Bring prayer potions etc for the KC and borrow the ceremonial gear. Definitely worth the trouble to use darts at nex vs at other places. I don't know if you can boost the range and agility requirements... but you can definitely try (summer pies and ranged potions). It wouldn't hurt to try first before leveling.
