  1. Actually crush is really useful against skeletons and forgotten warriors so there is a lot of enemies weak against crush attacks too. Prome spear is still numbah one though. Using any kind of melee against forgotten warriors is not very effective. =| Crush for the plate ones and stab/slash for the chain ones seems to work fine. crush for plate, stab for chains, and slash for barechested ones. :) Or just take him down with magic if one in your team mages.
  2. But just how many stupid updates can Jagex make before the loyal fanbase decide; enough is enough? I think what's important is that there will probably not be like that. Jagex have to something really, really wrong to make people say that enough is enough and leave. And through the history of rs, the only time that have happened in any bigger scale was in december 07 after the anti-rwt measures came. It's just us on a rs forum that is used to hear how every new update sucks that think that the downfall of a game will come because all this stupid updates destroyed the game. But the persons that described the different stages of an mmorpg got it quite right. Firstly, the game must look promising for newbies. It's hard to make thing worse here, but it must be compared to other games. How do you get persons to hear about the game, try it out, and give such a good first impression, that they continue to play. Second, the players shouldn't get bored. This is where people leave, not because of a few stupid updates. If people end up without things to do, they will eventually quit. This is why essentially every online game updates their game, to keep on their players. This should include fun "past-times" in the game, and goals to set. If you don't have both, then people will probably leave. What I think runescape have done so well, is that the balance between these have been very good, which have made it the game it is today. Many game producers just focus on one of these factors, in the belief that it will be enough. How long runescape will last? I probably think that we are on the peak of players right now, unless something happens (which is kind of the thing about the future, of course) We will probably have runescape in 2015, but smaller than today, probably with a lot of higher leveled players, and few lower ones. When the game have too many higher leveled compared to low, then it'll be interesting to see how the economy ends up, who is going to do the grunt work? Anyway, after 2015, I'm not too optimistic about the game. There's something about the coding of rs too, that just get more and more complex with its age, which makes bigger updates hard. Rs will probably, because of this lack behind in whatever new stuff comes into the game branche. Or so I think.
  3. So I dont get an exclusive one time item because im not willing to pay 200+ dollars for a flight to england? Im all ok with micropayments, but not if they cost 200 dollars. Away from that, I feel bad for the dwarf I stole the ruby dragon from. Hes broke and selling his tools for money. :( Sure, and you are missing out on that scythe because you have never heard of the game until a few years later. At least you have control over your situation now. The part that I argued against, were micropayments. If everyone that was at the event got a little (purely cosmetic) item, then I would have no problem with that, that would be about the same as a holiday event, and gain you no advantage over others :)
  4. I agree, if they do micro payments I'm OUT. Even for "stupid items" persay. Every player needs to have the same opportunity to get all items within the game. I have a feeling that players that go to this "Runefest" are going to get promotional codes to get a "special" item to commemorate them going to the event. Usually thats how MMORPG's do this thing. I would hope Jagex doesn't follow the mold and just copy this though. Holiday items? Not every player have the same opportunity mate. Sure they did. All they had to do was log on, "Mate". What about players who was for example sick during the event or created their account after that holiday? You still can't compare that with paying real life money to get an item you want. It is unfair over people that don't have the same chances as you have, because of your real life economical situation. This is different than not being able to log on during a given time, that could happen to anyone, no matter what their income is. Something that I like with runescape, is that it isn't your real life that decides how good you are here. Although you still can be disadvantaged because of less free time, or other things what really matters is that your rs character is purely what you've made it to be, and where everyone have started out equal. Now, if we bring in irl money in this, then you have another factor than playing rs that effects what you can do and what you cannot do in this game. And I don' t like it - at all!
  5. Well, that is for now I guess. It won't take too long until prices have adjusted to this. If anything, it might just make planting more expensive seeds better than planting cheaper ones.
  6. If you click the quest log, it actually shows what items you'll need, and what the reward for the quest is. What's the fun in that? :(
  7. It was already good to begin with, this just makes it even better! (the knowledge base still states it only works on dead crops though) OMG! Well, this is great, although it might change herb seed prices a bit. Snapdragons will be a little more worthwhile to farm. But what annoys me with this, is that I went through all this week, thinking that getting my seeds back from living herbs was a bug, so I didn't dare to farm at all, in fear of being banned for bug abuse. That's a 5-7m loss :(
  8. It have been years since I did that quest, but I can't recall any fairy dragons from FT2. What role did it have in the quest? (perhaps you should put the answer in spoiler tags, just to be nice to the questers here :) ) It was in RFD, not in FT2. It was found within the realm of Zanaris. Also to point out the obvious the OP nvr said a word about FTP2 He said "remember the fairy dragon from RFD" Lol. >.< I guess it was a little too late when I wrote that. Thanks for pointing out the obvious x] But I still think that it's a bit far fetched, and I don't really think we'll see much of that dragon later again. It felt so weird in the whole fairy setting in Zanaris

  10. Okay. I did some data from a lot of duoing today. Didn't ask for my partners xp all the time, but noted down my own. And my prestige continued to change between the floors... well anyway, here's the list so far. DUO DUNGEONS ---Small dungeons--- prestige 29 - 4160 floor 3, prestige 29 - 4173 floor 4, prestige 29 - 3075 floor 5 Prestige 29 - 4294 floor 13 Prestige 29 - 4307 floor 14 Prestige 29 - 4320 floor 15 Prestige 29 - 4334 floor 16 Prestige 29 - 4347 floor 17 prestige 27 - 3617 floor 3 ---Medium dungeons--- Prestige 29 - 5291 floor 24 Prestige 29 - 7339 floor 25 Prestige 29 - 8959 floor 26 Prestige 29 - 7073 floor 27 prestige 29 - 5315 floor 28 Prestige 29 - 7903 floor 29
  11. The way this skill works, with more prestige as you clear out floors, your experience rates will increase massively as you level. Also, as your personal skill get better, you'll be able to do dungeons more efficiently, and that will also help your experience point rates :)
  12. If you only look at slayer closed off, then there's no way ever that you could get it to be faster to train dungeoneering high enough for the rapier to be good enough for the time taken to get it. But a huge difference between Mobilising Armies and Dungeoneering is that the latter actually is a skill. That means most people are going to train it anyway, and you'll get tokens anyway. So i'll say that the time used to get the rapier is actually non-existant, as you would probably have trained the skill anyway. Also, the strenght difference between a whip and a rapier is about 25%. Which means that if you're hitting 100% (theoretical, of course) I don't know how much of your hits is affected by bonus, and how much is of the level, but I still think that this is enough to let the wealthiest persons actually gain by using the rapier, even on low-leveled monsters.
  13. My favorite is duoing medium floors. In my experiences this is quite faster than soloing. Another bonus is that you get more xp per floor, which means you will get to a lower floor before having to reset. I'd perhaps say that duoing small floors are best the first 15-20 or so levels, then doing medium (or even larges if you can get a good team with enough people, I never can)
  14. There is still one part here that you haven't considered. HOW MUCH better than a whip is the rapier? Considering you do not use tokens to recharge your rapier, you'll use 200k/h to use your rapier. So how much better than the whip must the rapier be for it to be good enough? Let's say you earn 2m/h (A conservative estimate for the ones here that boss hunt, although I do not) 200k is earnt in 6 minutes, not much time to think about. But considering that most people that have this high income already will use extremes and turmoil while fighting (I mostly think about slayer right now, as that's the fighting I do most of) Then I would say that the extra accuracy bonus of the rapier perhaps won't do as big a difference as it might sound like. Now, the increase in strength compared to a whip is about 25%. So I'd say that within an hour, you'd save more than 6 minutes here. I'm not too good in mathematics, so I won't be able to calculate exactly how much time in an hour the rapier will save over a whip, and it hugely depends on the monster fought as well. But knowing that with a 1m/h income, it would have to save you 12 minutes - 20% increase, or 10% at 2m/h. I think it's important that people consider this part as well, before buying a rapier to train with. (boss hunting is another matter, because of the fierce competition between people/teams there. And of course, knowing how many tokens it would cost to reduce the recharge price by 90% would also be helpful.
  15. Wrong, you get a penalty towards your xp if you don't kill everything. Either it is written on the KB or it doesn't, there isn't a factor in the end-dungeon window that calculates that, so until further research/enlightment, i dont see how not killing certain monsters has a penalty. When you look at that difficulty factor, where it stands for example 1:1 10% That bonus is lowered by up to 25% if you leave monsters you find alive (found in the faq in the kb) But what I've found, is that if I kill everything in rooms with guardian doors, and monsters that are ridiculously low leveled, that keeps my bonus high enough, to a point that the minimal extra xp you get by killing everything that is 60+ just isn't worth it in the extra time it takes.
  16. It's not that unlikely that people have bought them though. They cost so little compared to the more expensive items, that you don't lose out on much by buying them. Especially since until level 69 your xp rates increases very fast, so the 20k tokens you spared up before means very little, even though you used quite long time getting them.
  17. it doesn't move: you jsut fail to move (it says so in the game-messages if you don't filter them). BTW: is there a specific world already? it seems to empty out a bit Oh, I see. Just thought it was a bug or something. Thank you so much! I saw someone talking about world 144 becoming some kind of hub for team playing. Didn't check though - teaming up with randoms isn't too fun.
  18. When you do the puzzle, jumping over all those gaps. Can someone tell me why the gloving light cheats from time to another? I know where I should go to avoid being taken, but sometimes the light moves two, or even three times in a row.
  19. Arrhg. He had like 1/10 hp left. Dc'd, and logged in in the lobby :(
  20. Of course they would help. But Nomad is a one time boss, which most higher levels (the ones that are now considering the use of these chaotic items) have already done him. It's a bit like suggesting that if someone is struggling with Nomad, bring a divine shield. It'll absolutely help, but the ones that have the shield, aren't usually the ones that should struggle (much) with Nomad anyways.
  21. I found him easy enough. I just used my spear on stab and prayed piety. Don't turn on your melee protect prayer, as that triggers his special attack, I believe. Also, quickly looking at the rswiki, there's a team strategy that is the same as the sgwd strategy. The targeted person runs away, while the others range. Remember that this boss only has a melee attack.
  22. You could use a stew to get your level up to 75, but to be honest, it is just as easy to train the level up now. Getting everything you need for the stew will take shorter time than training the level three levels, but you'll probably want to train the skill later some time anyway, perhaps for the adze, or just for training it. So, it's possible, but it'd be easier to train it. And 75 looks much better than 72 anyway, don't you think?
  23. No. You either pay two million goldpieces, or you pay an amount of tokens (I don't know how much) and pay two hundred thousand instead (if I recall correctly)
  24. Promethium spear (p++), 100 Katagon arrows (Actually haven't found better yet) and a Gorgonite Platebody. :)
  25. You simply have an empty vial in your inventory, and click on the door. Simple as that.
